Tahani Nelson liked the forum thread, Crypt TV Underdog
After joining the Crypt TV contest a month late, Manifesto: A Tale of Murder has moved into fifth place!  Everyone likes an underdog, and my entry is a quality read.  If you think it deserves to be in the winner’s circle, order it today!  We have made up a lot of ground, but starting late put us at a disadvantage.  Help me get this book into the top three.  Also, check out the new cover art.

Tahani Nelson liked an update for Tantalus Depths

    Seven days....

We’ve seen a major surge in support so far this weekend. I’m not going to stop pushing for more, and you’ve all been helping to bring these last few in. With continued vigilance, I really think we can make it. Keep pressing on! The end is in sight at last...

Also, as a reward for passing the 600 mark once again, as promised, here is my reading of chapter three of Tantalus Depths! Enjoy!

      Updates, Faoii! Listen up!!

Another amazing victory for our army today! We’ve officially been backed by the Epic Fantasy Syndicate. Their medal is now proudly displayed in the barracks next to the other 2. Welcome our new brothers and sisters to the fray!

Today also brought us to 200 pre-orders and 5th place in the contest!! 200 pre-orders, Faoii! 50 more and we’ll reach Quill. Victory is so close I can taste it.

Don’t forget-- I’m still raffling off the chance to name one of several characters AND an edit/beta read of the work of your choice. Everyone who’s pre-ordered is entered into the contest, so don’t fret if you’re a seasoned Faoii--I haven’t forgotten you or what you’ve done for us.

Take care of yourselves and each other, Faoii. We’re higher up the hill than we’ve been yet. Only 2 people stand between us and full publication. Let’s show them who we are!

Tahani Nelson liked an update for The Lore of the Aos Sí

The Weefolk refers to the collective races of the Courtless people’s that live in the realm of Tír na nÓg. They live far and wide and can be found in cities, forests, mountains, and rivers throughout the realm. A great majority of the Weefolk make their homes within the safety of the Greatwood Forest. The Weefolk have and affinity for the natural world largely because a great portion of the nomadic peopleś are elemental in nature, living in trees, rivers, and rocky caverns. They are peaceful peopleś who keep to themselves and rarely involved themselves in the political or religious realms of the Fae and Mankind. As they are part of the Courtless races of Tír na nÓg those that make their home in the Greatwood Forest are guarded by the Kentaros. Those who live outside of the Greatwood are protected by the sacred laws of the Goddess, however, due to their valuable elemental essence, many who live beyond the Greatwood are at greater risk of being poached. TheWeefolk are countless in number largely in part to their reclusive nature. They come in many shapes and sizes, each with a magical gift that harnesses elemental magic. Some of the more well known Weefolk are:

        • Faunus
        • Kelpie
        • Pixie
        • Trow
        • Dryads
        • Water Nymphs
        • Brownies
        • Puca
        • Many More

These are but a few of the many mysterious and magical Weefolk that one can see while traversing the lands of Tír na nÓg.

          Underdogs Do Not Exist

Underdog: 1. One that is expected to lose a contest. 2. One that is at a disadvantage. - American Heritage® Dictionary

I entered the Geek & Sundry Contest thinking I was an underdog. I expected to lose because I was at a disadvantage. With 1USD equaling RM41, how can I win? With an eBook the price of 8 meals, how can I convince readers to give 4 times more than my competitors? But after 2 months, I realised I was wrong. Me thinking I was an underdog was just me thinking I was an underdog. It was a thought. It wasn’t true. After 2 months, I finally realised underdogs do not exist.

Now, why do I say that? Here’s a question: what makes a rags-to-riches story memorable?

What makes the tale of a homeless man becoming a billionaire inspiring? What makes the small town baseball team going to the major leagues uplifting? What makes any story of success empowering?

Is it the neighbourhood the characters grew up in? Is it their poverty-striken families? Or... is it their passion, drive, and determination to succeed despite all odds? Do you remember the story because they came from a third world country, or do you remember their story because they bravely faced the giants? I believe we can all agree it is the latter.

So, is there such a thing as an underdog? No. Being an underdog is a state of mind. It is how we look at ourselves. It is what people might call us. But ’underdogs’ by default do not exist. Nobody is made to be an underdog. Nobody is born a loser. Our upbringing, our country, and our circumstances, do not define who we are. If we are fighters, we will keep on fighting. We will not succumb to the idea of being an underdog. We will write our own story with passion and determination, and we will keep doing so until we succeed.

Honestly, I don’t know why I entertained the thought of being an underdog, especially when Thom himself never saw himself as one. Thom may not have the faith to free his people, but at least he didn’t think he was at a disadvantage. He was part of the minority, but he was determined to win. He didn’t box himself in a label, and chose to believe he was an equal. If Thom could do that, in his fight for freedom in a world so bias, then I can do it too.

I am not an underdog. I am an equal. And so are you.

It’s October, guys. You know what time it is, right?

The Coma: Cutting Class is a horror game, heavily focused on storytelling, by Devespresso Games. Devespresso Games is an indie game developer from South Korea. And the CEO, Min Ho, is someone I’ve worked with in my early days of Oz. As a fellow creator, storyteller, and fighter of dreams, I am ecstatic to receive his generous support.

The poster above tells everything you need to know about the contest. If you’re a gamer, who likes story-heavy games and can handle jump-scares, here’s your chance to play The Coma for free. Just order yourself a copy of The Slave Prince, ’like’ the picture on Facebook*, and you might just be able to add this game to your inventory in time for Halloween.

(*I know some people don’t play games and those who do might not like horror, hence why I require the Facebook ’like’. It’ll help narrow down who actually wants to win the steam keys.)
