Michael Sebby liked an update for The Children of the Forest

So something pretty cool happened last night ~ "The Children of the Forest" hit its funding goal to qualify for Inkshare’s Quill! I’ve been completely blown away by the last-minute rally of fans, and I’m floored that in less than 7 days we managed to move over 50 copies of the book!

Looking ahead, I’m still somewhat processing the fact that the book will be made. It’s been a long road to reach this point and I couldn’t have come this far without everyone in the Inkshares community who put their time, money, and opinions to use in helping me craft what has become "The Children of the Forest."

I just wanted to offer a quick look at what to expect in the next few weeks, regarding the schedule for the novel.

  1. As mentioned in another update, I’ll be releasing a companion booklet (Free) to all backers. Men’kai will only receive this as a digital copy, while Alethian+Wolf-Riders will be given soft-cover books.
  2. I’ll be updating the Inkshares page during production on the rest of the novel. I hope to have at least 2-3 more sample chapters made available, along with a refined introduction, video, and more.
  3. I also have a short-story in the works that will be made available to all backers within the next few weeks.

Most likely there will be more, but those are the major beats for now. Again, a huge thanks to everyone who backed my novel and made it a reality! I can’t wait to have the finished version in your hands  ~

    Happy Saturday!

I wanted to share with you all a great video of Inkshares author Mike Sebby (The Inhabitants: An Unremembered Life) talking about what he loves about Blood Dawn and why it is a great book.

This is presently the trailer video on my page. It’s part of a larger trailer video project currently in the works -- more on that soon!

Hope you enjoy, and if you haven’t already pre-ordered Blood Dawn, I hope this video will inspire you to join the growing club of believers.

Exciting things are ahead in the next few weeks, so stay tuned. Have a great weekend!

      Quick exciting update to share!

Today I had the honor of being a guest on the Inkshares blog. I was asked some questions about the relentless community building work I’ve been helping with, and given an opportunity to reflect on the future of the Inkshares vision of a democratic publishing model:

Enjoy -- and please share this. The more readers who know about Inkshares, the better.

p.s. remember a few months ago I rallied to help get Jack Bender’s, The Elephant in the Room to its funding goal? Well, I received my three copied yesterday -- and read it in one sitting. What a great book! Stephen King calls it a picture book for adults, and it comes with high praise from J.J. Abrams and David Benioff and D.B. Weiss. Well, I read it in one sitting. What a book! In some parts I laughed hard, but most places touched my heart. Jack has a dark sort of wisdom that’s contagious and it was nice to spend a good hour with him in those pages. Highly recommended!
