I’m linking to the chapters below for easy access.

Hey, my wonderfully supportive armchair-travelling friends!  I wanted to say thank you again.  You have brought me to almost 100 (wow!) followers in the Writing Contest I’ve entered through Inkshares.   I’ve just uploaded Chapter #4 – Beans, Boys, and Bad Beds onto my Inkshares site (https://www.inkshares.com/books/mama-s-goin-backpacking) – hope you enjoy.

Reviews are particularly helpful toward my contest ratings (😊). Leave a comment in the REVIEW tab of that site if you have time and SHARE the site with friends you think will enjoy it as well.  Thank you again.

It has been a long time since I updated all of you who have helped me get to this point today.

Been going through my own personal healthcare nightmare, but that is another story.

Today, December 12, 2020 is my 3 year Anniversary for when this book was published.

A little bit behind the curtain:

This is what I did for about a month straight back in 2016-2017

        ☆[Editing with an Editor]

         1) Get up at 4:45 A.M.
         2) Shower and Breakfast
         3) Arrive at Coffee Bean right when it opened: 5:30 A.M.
         4) Edit until computer (not charging in wall) would die.
         5) Take a break, walk outside, eat, coffee, pay bills, make calls, and recharge while my dead laptop charged
         6) Repeat steps 4 & 5 until Coffee Bean closed: 10 P.M.
         7) Drive home and look over edits until midnight
         8) Unwind until 1:00 A.M.
         9) Bed
         10) Repeat Steps 1-10 next day
        ☆

This is how I was able to do it. Insane? Yes! It took patience, time, energy, my health, and whatever social life I had before, during, and after. It also should be mentioned how much the Inkshares Writing Community helped shape what this story eventually became...a wild ride.

And here we are, 3 years later. Thank you to Inkshares for taking flight with this story through Quill, for Nerdist who pushed me to tackle this Juggernaut of a challenge, for my Cover Designer, Aaron Harvey (@GeekFilter , Host of Infinite Trek and author of Star Trek - The Official Guide to the Animated Series rb.gy/qr9bbi ), my Editors at Story Perfect Publishing for believing in me and helping me through the chaotic process), my friends and followers, and most important my mom and dad, without I would not be who I am, plus my dad (@Wizardofpaint https://wizardofpaint.com/ ) read EVERY SINGLE draft. The rough ones and the Final version.

Leo Valiquette liked an update for Tantalus Depths

Hello friends. Exciting news today! My new short story, Reliquary, is available now as part of Writing Bloc’s Passageways anthology. This exciting new collection features short stories by nine brilliant authors, each one a brand new addition to a different, expertly crafted fictional universe. These nine stories are ambassadors and tour guides, here to introduce you to vast, intricate worlds, each delicately formed with the utmost care by its author. You’ll find an excellent selection of science fiction, fantasy, and horror tales here, and I could not be prouder to have Reliquary number among them.

What is Reliquary, you ask? Reliquary is the newest story from my own anthology series, The Calling Void. That’s right, my series has an official name, now! The Calling Void is the dark, hard sci-fi universe of my previous two short stories, Breach and Countermeasures, and my upcoming novels Tantalus Depths and Proteus.

Reliquary explores new locations and concepts in this universe, as we make our first visit to Showalter: the first and only planet yet discovered that can sustain human life. We are also introduced to the Aftothysian movement: a radical group of extremists who oppose interplanetary colonization of any kind, and are willing to go to grim and desperate extremes to stop humanity’s expansion into the stars. They have recently acquired their greatest and most terrifying asset yet: the Biscayne Relic. A unique piece of technology created by the near-omnipotent AI that almost destroyed the Earth during the apocalyptic Corsica Event most of a century ago, the terrible destructive potential of the Biscayne Relic cannot be underestimated. But the Aftothysians are not the only ones with an interest in the Biscayne Relic. Nor are they the greatest threat to humankind.

You can read Reliquary right now in Passageways right here on Kindle or right here on paperback. I look forward to sharing this exciting new adventure with you, and many more very soon!
