        @Jane-Holly Meissner I believe "Quill but not in production" means that the book has finished its original campaign at Quill level, but no actual editing/design work has been done on it yet. This distinguishes it from books that are past the 250 mark but still in the funding process.

        I know books that pass 250 are automatically marked as "in production" as soon as they finish their campaigns, but I understand that there’s generally a bit of lag between when the campaign ends and when the production work actually begins.

          I’ve seen some books make huge strides in contests, so if the 250+ order books didn’t manage to pull in enough new support it would be conceivable that someone could start at 0 and still overtake them.  Difficult, yes;  impossible, no.
