Updates, Faoii! Listen up!
Did I tell you that the cover I’ve been using forever isn’t going to work because of copyright issues? Did I also tell you that the cover design artist I was working with had to drop the project very suddenly and so there was a few hours there where I thought we weren’t going to have a cover at ALL? I’m telling you, Faoii, it’s been a wild couple of days/weeks. But this is where we’re currently sitting, and I am incredibly pleased. Tell me what you think:
Updates, Faoii! Listen up!
We’ve done so much and gotten so far during this war, Faoii, I can’t even begin to tell you how proud I am. This book is going to become a real thing, and I have YOU to thank. You’re the ones that brought us to the top of this hill, and you’re the ones who deserve the spoils at the end of it all. I could not have asked for a better army.
Updates on our progress: This week I finished up the final round of edits with Reedsy and I am SO pleased with the changes made. This was a much more thorough edit than I expected (since it was a copy edit rather than a developmental one) and The Last Faoii is a much stronger book for having seen it through. After that was finished, Inkshares took The Last Faoii back to begin its pour (this is where they develop the layout for the finished product). Our finest victory to date is on the horizon!
Also, this last, frantic charge up the hill brought on some really amazing changes for The Last Faoii’s look. Thank you to everyone who joined in the small skirmish on my Facebook Page to decide on a new cover. With your ideas and with the help of the incredibly talented Evan Graham (Author of Tantalus Depths and Proteus, both of which you should check out) we now have this beautiful new image to represent our army:
Is that not both fierce and beautiful? Is that not worthy of the Faoii name? I hope that that is the cover of a book you’d be proud to show your friends, because the time is coming when we will have better chances and stronger allies in our fight to make The Last Faoii known. Soon I will call on you again to spread the word that we have taken the first hill, but we are not through. The world will know us, Faoii. Let me hear your battle cry!

Exciting news, faoii! Listen up!
We’ve fought long and hard for this, faoii, but the day of our victory is coming closer! I’ve just received a missive from our commanders at Inkshares with a tentative schedule for the continued production of The Last Faoii. If all goes as planned, the book we’ve worked so hard to create should be in your hands by late August or early September. The day of publication. The day where all of this work-- all the blood and tears and terror-- becomes worth it. Keep those shields up for a bit longer, my warriors. We are almost there.
I know that many of you see this as the end of the war, but there is so, so much more on the horizon. We are but a handful of warriors who have rallied around this banner, and there is no doubt that we have become great. We made it to the top 5 in Inkshares’ largest contest to date. We are the #3 Best Selling Dark Fantasy on Inkshares-- and the book isn’t even out yet. We have shown what we can do, but I know that there are more soldiers out there who may yet turn to see the source of our constant, ever-unfaltering battle cries. We can’t simply rest on our laurels when the greatest battle is still to come-- the one where we’re finally adequately armed to recruit new warriors.
Soon, once you have read the entirety of our story and learned of the greatness that is the faoii Order, I will turn to you and ask for your reviews on Goodreads and Amazon. I will ask you how I can become a better writer and how I can improve as I surge forward into the continuation of the Faoii Codex (Book II is amazing so far, by the way). I will never stop working on spreading the word, and eventually the world will know us. Someday soon, I will need your battlecries again.
But for now we may rest soundly in the knowledge that we have succeeded in this first charge. The book is coming. Our story will be told. And the world will know that we are faoii.
Shields up. And Thank You.

Faoii! This is exciting! Listen up:
The Last Faoii is currently the #3 Best-Selling Dark Fantasy novel on Inkshares. It’s been 5 months since the contest and our army is STILL growing. Let me hear your war cry!
If you haven’t pre-ordered your copy yet what are you waiting for? Get on it, Faoii. Grab your sword.
Hopefully I’ll have more updates soon. Shields up.

Orders, Faoii! Listen up!
Thanks to all of you for your honest feedback and advice after my last update. The Last Faoii’s facebook page was filled with advice and opinions, and it’s taken me a bit to sort through all of it.
First things first: Blade-Blessed is a dumb name. We all decided that together. Also, the cover art with Kaiya on it was too cluttered. Most people seem to like the original design that I’ve been using since the beginning. So I’m glad we got those things out of the way. Well done, troops.
The title, though... that has brought up all sorts of discussion. On the one hand, yes, faoii is hard to pronounce if you haven’t already read the Glossary. On the other hand, though... We’re faoii. Every single one of you is a warrior, and I’ve addressed you by your title since your enlistment. Our campaign has been built on that word from the beginning. The world is beginning to know us by that name. It would be hard to drop it now.
But, it does not hurt to ask one more time before making an ultimate decision. Opinions, my warriors?
Updates, Faoii! Listen up!
Greetings, Faoii!
I promised that you would know more as I did, so here you go: The issue with Quill has been fixed and we’ve officially joined their ranks! Let me hear your war cry!
Other than that, I’m trying to work on a tagline for The Last Faoii’s facebook page. Follow that if you haven’t already! You can see the taglines and promotional ideas as I make them, and give me your input right away. Also, maybe you’ll find something there that interests you and that you can use to promote your own book (for example: I created images of all the reviews The Last Faoii has received and put them into an album on that page. Several others have started doing that as well and it seems to be effective! Steal the idea. Take it. Run with it. Succeed with it).
That’s it for now. Dismissed.
Greetings, Faoii!
I’ve heard from several of you that you got an e-mail (AGAIN) informing my soldiers that The Last Faoii has hit its Quill goal and will enter production sometime in the future. I don’t know why the notice went out twice, but I don’t think it’s a bad thing. I wouldn’t want you all forgetting about our fight during this reprieve, after all. ;)
I do, however, want to point out that The Last Faoii was invited to join the Quill collection that day, too. I accepted and joined, but was dropped from the collection less than 10 minutes later. I’m not sure what this means for The Last Faoii, and Inkshares has yet to respond to any of my e-mails, but I’m sure it’s just a glitch that will be fixed soon. You’ll learn more as I do.
Until then, I’ve updated The Last Faoii’s page with a different blurb and some new information about me. I also think the page is easier to read now, and am pleased with the drop in prices after having reached Quill. There is no reason for our army’s numbers to grow stagnant. Spread the word! Add your voices to the battle choir! The Last Faoii is perfect for anyone who likes fantasy, LGBT heroines or who would rather get a sword than a glass slipper for Christmas.
That’s it for now. Shields up!

Greetings, Faoii.
Tomorrow is Thanksgiving for those of us living in the USA. I’m thankful for many things in my life. It’s been a trying year with health issues (both mental and physical), uncertainty, financial troubles and fear. But it’s also been filled with great new friends, adventures, and more hope than I think I’ve ever experienced before. Of course I’m thankful.
Mostly, though, I am thankful for all of you out there who supported me as I fought to publish The Last Faoii. I took what was arguably the hardest route to publication, and I know more than few people told me that I should stop with Faoii and write something new to put my hopes on, but you all supported me and kept me going even when I wanted to give up.
Thank you.
I hope that your day (Thanksgiving or not) is wonderful and that you, too, have something that makes your heart fill when you think of it, because you can’t contain your gratitude. I hope you have more smiles than tears at the end of the day and more hope than doubt.
Shields up. I love you all.

Greetings, Faoii!
Just a few short updates to keep you in the loop.
