Hello 102 of my closest friends!

I haven't had much to update about so I figured I'd just add to your inboxes saying hi.  Well not just hi.  I'd like to ask you a favor.  I'm not that great at marketing.  I'm more so for writing and art.  If you could be so kind to recommend my book to a few of your closest friends I'd be grateful.  I know how difficult it could be especially to try and sell a book to someone so I'm cool if you're picky as to who you ask.  If each of you got only one to preorder that would more than double my preorder total and help so very much.  I'm realistic though, I mean I was able to only get one of my two sisters to order so any effort is appreciated.  

Oh wait there is something I can update about!  I pointlessly pushed to get more followers on Inkshares than Felicia Day.  And I got em!  I'm sure if you follow me on Twitter you're aware of the competition that she either had no idea was going on or didn't care was going on.  It's the pointless victories, really.  That is how that saying goes right?  But that does mean that I'm like number 11 on the top readers list.  My profile has almost 200 followers and I encourage all of them to check out my book and preorder if they or you like what you see.

    Hi everyone!  Very quick update for you:

    First, It's All Fun and Games now has a Facebook page!  This will be where the day-to-day things get chronicled, so if you're interested in following along, please check it out!  I hate spam email as much as the next guy, so I'm going to try to minimize the number of updates you receive.

    Second, I was featured in the local newspaper on Thursday (a day late for the contest, but there's no such thing as bad press), and on the UMaine news feed on Friday.  If you're interested in seeing either, please swing by the FB page.

    Almost lastly, Inkshares interviewed each of the five winning books, and our answers are here!  Check it out, and throw a little love their way if their books strike your fancy.

    Very lastly, The Catcher's Trap hit 750 preorders today - the ebook goal.  This means only 250 left for the print run.  Check it out on Inkshares.com.  

    Thanks again for your continued support!  I've submitted my initial paperwork to go to the design and edit team, so things are trucking right along!

      At the beginning of the month I was feeling the compounding pressure of my deadline closing in, surrounding me, until only darkness was left.

      Well, 5 days later I am still feeling that. BUT- I am up 32 orders from where I was. This was incredible.

      And I think I know why. People have been allowing for their credits to accumulate. 
      First timers-LISTEN UP

      To sign up you receive 5$ in credits
      Hitting the +Follow button and recommending your first book gets you 5$ in credits
      {These first two do not happen right away, and you have to allow some time to pass to see that the credits become active}
      Having someone purchase from your recommended links gets you 15$ in credits

      These are just some ways to get this book a wider shot of getting out for the world to see. I also have the Facebook page

      And then there is all of you telling your friends and anyone you can about it. Everyone who pre-orders gets a personalized e-mail from me with a unique excerpt that no two will be the same.

      Exciting stuff. I updated the Inkshares page to include the two choice titles of Hazard Lights and Dead End Ahead for your pre-orders. Also, I put a nice little eye grabber at the top of the summary and excerpts. A small paragraph that finishes off Chapter 1.

        Thanks to all of you who have supported me, to those of you who have ordered more than one copy of the book and to those of you who have shared the link with your friends and family.

        This means The Catcher’s Trap will become a published book!

        I don’t want to be sappy, but I have to (start playing Sarah McLachlan song) The young immigrant who came to this country 15 years ago, barely speaking English but full of hopes and dreams, never thought this dream would come true; thanks to all of you it has.

        So now we keep pushing. 43 days to go and 250 more books to sell.

          I did something fun today. I've been pretty off my game this week. Bad head & chest cold, lack of sleep, general rundown vibe and not feeling very creative. Although, I did take a break and go to Knott's Scary Farm the other night! Lots of fun, despite my nonstop phlegm fest. :)

          Feeling crummy as I have, I just couldn't focus on writing, even when I actually had quiet time to sit and get it down. SO frustrating! So today I went back to my source. It's no secret that Dax Harrison is based off a film script I wrote. Yes, Dax was meant to be a good old-fashioned summer blockbuster. So much so that as I worked on crafting scenes, I would often imagine music from other films as part of the Dax soundtrack as inspiration.

          I can't be the only one who does that, right? Heck, sometimes I hear epic soundtracks in my head while I'm just reading someone else's book. Personally, some pretty intense action tunes were playing in my head while reading Katniss fight her way through The Hunger Games, BEFORE the movies started coming out.

          So to reinvigorate my writing vibes, and to share with anyone who's interested, here is the Dax Harrison unofficial soundtrack, made of co-opted music from other films, a TV show, and one terrific game series I just finished replaying. I also made a track listing with custom titles, just to give a few hints (but not too many) about how the story plays out. I hope it's just enough to make you say, "GAH! I can't wait to read it! I'm going to share this with 1000 people right now and tell them to pre-order!" ;)
