Ricardo Henriquez liked an update for Rise

Rise is in the wild!  Many of you have already received your copy and have sent images of the book to me.  Thanks for that.  I was in the throes of Post Con Depression following Dragoncon when these images began rolling in.  Instant boost to the happiness scale.

This coming Tuesday, 13 Sept 2016, the book is released worldwide.  Among other things, it means you will be able to leave reviews on Amazon.  Goodreads already allows this.  It is impossible to explain how important reviews are to authors, especially first time authors.  Your reviews do not need to be glowing pieces of literary work.  A simple I liked it is sufficient.  If you’d like to see a sample of a much more detailed review, check out this one from Alicia Smock.  I was humbled by her kind words.  Stay tuned for more from an interview she conducted with me just before Dragoncon.

Finally, Fall, sequel to Rise, is up for preorder now and the sooner it gets through the campaign of preorders, the sooner you get it.  wink wink

Happy reading!

Ricardo Henriquez sent an update for The Catcher’s Trap

    Hello Catcher enthusiasts!

I’m writing to you from cloudy but beautiful Niagara Falls.

There is not much news about The Catcher’s Trap; we are still putting together the final design touches so we can send it to the printer. You’ll have a copy in your hands before November 8th.

In the meantime let’s talk about my campy and terrifying new project Bad Medicine: Slay It Queen!

Bad Medicine is currently third in the Crypt TV horror contest, and it needs your help to slay its way to the top. So please consider pre-ordering a copy and helping me make this novel a reality and, who knows, maybe a TV show.

    Order here.

There are two things I’m doing to make this campaign fun. First, I’m working with several artists developing illustrations for Bad Medicine. I’m giving them little direction because I want to see what they come up with. This is the first one by the talented comic artist Bartolomeo Argentino.

Very Tina Turner meets Rainbow Brite. I like it!

I’m also giving readers the chance of becoming a character in the book.

Pre-order a copy of Bad Medicine, send me your drag-name and enter a chance to be one of the queens battling the hordes of zombies in New York.

Yesterday we had our first winner, and her name is Red Redwine!! (AKA Miss Christine Brennecke)

Red Redwine is a classy queen from Philadelphia visiting New York for a classic Hollywood convention. Red gets caught in the mayhem of this poorly timed zombie apocalypse while getting ready to perform a Bette Midler tribute.

That’s it for this lovely Saturday morning.

Have a great rest of your weekend.

Ricardo Henriquez sent an update for Bad Medicine: Slay it queen!

      Dear Friends

The day has come for you to lip-sync FOR YOUR LIFE!

Just kidding. Today is the first drawing for a chance to become a character in the zombie/drag queen saga Bad Medicine: Slay It Queen!

But before we announce the winner I want to share a couple of things.

First, I’m working with several artists developing illustrations for Bad Medicine. I’m giving them little direction because I want to see what they come up with. This is the first one by the talented comic artist Bartolomeo Argentino.

His, interpretation is very Tina Turner meets Rainbow Brite and I love it! I love seeing how different people imagine my characters.

Also, Bad Medicine got a couple of shout-outs. Geek.com and Jenny Graham Jones gave some love to our drag heroin.

Here is what Jenny had to say “Talking about taking a tired genre and turning it into something fresh and new."

Read the stories here: geek.com, JennyGrahamJones.com

      Finally, the winner:

Red Redwine!! (AKA Miss Christine Brennecke)

Red Redwine is a classy queen from Philadelphia visiting New York for a classic Hollywood convention. Red gets caught in the mayhem of this poorly timed zombie apocalypse while getting ready to perform a Bette Midler tribute.

You’ll learn more about her in future chapters.

Pre-order today, send me your drag-name, and you may be a winner next week.

      Have great weekend friends!

Ricardo Henriquez liked an update for Rune of the Apprentice
        Dragon Con Cosplay!

Dragon Con was Awesome! I’ve uploaded the pics both on Instagram and my blog! So much fun!

One of the most exciting things about Dragon Con (other than hanging with my brother Tim) was meeting up with my fellow Inkshares authors! Here is what J.F. Dubeau, author of The Life Engineered and A God in the Shed had to say about RUNE:

“Stone has crafted an exciting fantasy epic set in a mysterious world of intrigue and adventure. Intricately written and populated with characters we not only root for but also deeply identify with, Rune is constructed with tangible enthusiasm that pours from every page. The flowing prose is experienced rather than read—and done so with vivid clarity. I’m highly anticipating the next in the series!” —J.F. Dubeau, author of The Life Engineered and A God in the Shed

Obviously I am very honored by J.F.’s words—they are a wonderful sneak peak into the wonderful adventure that is Rune of the Apprentice! It was also a blast hanging out with the other Inkshares authors at Dragon Con. Seen above in Matt Hardy’s photo on the far left is me, then Paul Innman, author of Ageless; J.F. Dubeau, author of The Life Engineered and A God in the Shed; Brian Guthrie, author of Rise; and G. Derek Adams, author of Asteroid Made of Dragons. I look forward to next time we meet! (My next convention will be Annapolis Comic Con, on Sept. 18th btw!)

In other RUNE news, large chain bookstores are finally starting to pick up their copies! Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Bookazine, and Indigo, to name a few! Independent bookstores are also getting their copies, too! BUT there are hundreds of bookstores which still have not yet ordered! SO, something you all can do is ASK your local bookstore to stock a copy or three! Just tell them to ask their "Ingram representative" about Rune of the Apprentice and they can take care of the rest! Getting Rune placed in these bookstores is huge, and will enable more people to enjoy this epic adventure!

I’m going to keep this update quick because it’s a Friday, but expect more from me soon! I just recorded a super fun podcast, and have a lot of other cool news to share in the weeks to come. Currently, I am planning out RUNE’s epic book signing tour. I’m hitting each timezone, and undoubtedly, coming to a city near you! In the meantime, hit up your local bookstore and ask them to stock Rune! They wont regret it!  To view all of my Dragon Con Cosplay pics click HERE!

The Walking Dead meets Ru-Paul’s Drag Race. An up-and-coming drag-queen faces a poorly timed zombie apocalypse. Can she wield a machete and still look good in Jimmy-Choo?
