James Rasile liked an update for The Zookeeper’s Dilemma

Okay, readers. This will be the last excerpt from this book since I don’t want to put the whole thing online, which is a shame because this is where it really starts to get interesting. There’s fights, talking animals, and more sexy times, plus this whole scene where Felicia gets attacked by a zombie…but I’m not going to spoil it.

Pre-orders haven’t been what I’d like. I figure my little book has gotten lost in the flood of entries for the Geek & Sundry contest. That’s understandable. There are a lot of really fine projects out there, and you only have so many dollars to spend. Remember, however, that the contest is running until November 1st, so you still have lots of time to buy my book. I’ll wait. I don’t mind really. Yup, I’ll still be here. Waiting.

Seriously though, I hope to send out some free shorts once I finish the other manuscript I’m working on at the moment. I might put that up on Inkshares as well, or I might just give it away. I haven’t decided yet. Until then please follow, recommend, review, and maybe even buy The Zookeeper’s Dilemma. Thanks.

James Rasile liked an update for Wings of the Pirate

    Hello Adventure Readers!

I am two weeks into a family road trip to the Pacific Northwest (son=5yrs, daughter=7yrs, Wife=?yrs & Me along with a car full of gear!!) so my apologies for not being prompt with returning messages and emails.  We have been camping in 5 different National Parks, done some Wine tasting and visited Evergreen Aviation Museum in Oregon which is now the home of the great wooden seaplane, the "Spruce Goose".  I was first hooked by water flying 34 years ago when I visited the Howard Hughes flying boat in Long Beach California at the age of seven.

Another week on the road and I will be back to reading other projects, writing reviews & recommendations.  Thank you all for your generous support.  At 193 preorders, we are nearing the homestretch to publication at 250 orders!

I am very excited to have done book swaps with several authors and look forward to doing more.  Some authors shy from doing book trades, but in my experience with my 1st published novel at Book Festivals and Author events, I often trade books with other authors and then pass the books along to other eager readers.  To get our stories out for an audience to enjoy is the main objective and it’s great to have the mutual support of other writers who know the hardest part isn’t writing the book, but selling it.

I look forward to having all you other followers of the project aboard with a preorder!  If you need more of a recommendation than my own, how about the validation of the 2016 "Clive Cussler Adventure Writing Competition" (Wings of the Pirate - Top 10 Semi-Finalist).

If old-fashioned adventure with seaplanes, Air Pirates and a female archeologist caught in the middle is to your liking, you’re gonna love this story!!  Click on the green preorder now button and show your support!!

    Sincerely,

    Eric H. Heisner

Every hero’s journey requires it. Every battle worth fighting is won with it. Every good deed is inspired by it. What is it?

’Faith: Complete trust or confidence in someone or something.’ - Oxford Dictionaries (finally, a legit dictionary - web version).

      What inspired The Slave Prince?

That’s the first question most people would ask. Strangely, I did not give it much thought until Angela reached out to me for the Geek & Sundry blog post. If you’ve not read the blog post, don’t worry. I’ve already answered the question above... and below:

      Faith.

Faith was my personal inspiration for The Slave Prince. And faith defines this book’s journey over the years.

Many times, people associate faith with God or humanity. I’ve associated with both while writing this book. Adapting from a biblical story represented my faith in God, while incorporating magic and retelling an adventure of self-discovery was my faith in humanity... or should I say, faith in myself.

It was through the years that I learned to be confident, to be brave, and to trust in the little skill that I have. I may not be the next J.K Rowling, but faith has kept me going. The Slave Prince may not make it to bookshelves, but faith keeps me believing. Faith exists beyond the realm of fiction. Faith exists in us. And as much as this book was inspired by faith, I hope it inspires faith too.

Now, on to the important part: the ’Thank You’. As I wrap up this update, I’d like to say thank you to all 99 readers who have faith in me and my work. Thank you for believing in me. Thank you for supporting me. And thank you for taking this journey with me. There are still 2 more months to go, but with faith, dreams can become a reality. And with you by my side, I know I won’t be walking alone.

        Good news!

        A Beast Requires has over 100 pre-order!

Yes, I’m exicted too, but we aren’t quite at the 250 pre-orders we need for the Quill goal. With the month coming to a close, I’d like to once again thank everyone who has backed me so far. It’s going to get harder from here, but I know we can do it. So, keep telling your friends, family, and fellow humans about the book, and let’s push those pre-order numbers higher.

This week’s video is all about the origins and inspirations for A Beast Requires. Well, some of them at least. Brevity is not my strong suit, but I’m pretty damn pleased I didn’t prattle on too much. There’s a few things I’m working on for next week, so keep an eye out for those emails. Thanks again for all your support. You all really are that awesome.

James Rasile liked an update for Disintegration

Hey, everybody. The beta read period is going very nicely; I’m getting great feedback and incorporating the changes.

As Tony Valdez, the author of Dax Harrison (check it out!), mentioned, Inkshares is going through a bit of a restructuring. There is a big backlog of books to be published. As a result, even if I rushed to deliver the final draft of Disintegration, we would still have a significant wait ahead of us. So I’ll be taking my time to make sure that final draft is phenomenal, all the while keeping tabs with the folks at Inkshares to know when is the right moment to submit my work.

I’ll keep you updated on the production schedule, as soon as it exists. For now, though, rest assured that the work continues. If you’d like to read the current draft, drop me a line and I’ll send it to you. If you like it, know that it will only improve and, please, spread the word. I want to get my book to a wider audience. Let’s sell some more copies!
