Joshua collapsed against the wall. His lungs burned, throat ached, and side throbbed. They couldn’t keep running like this; if they didn’t find safety soon, it would all be over
The Blight changed everything, sweeping the globe, leaving humanity on the brink of extinction. The melior, with their immunity and fortified walls, stepped in to provide sanctuary. Now, the last of the human race are enslaved, but alive.
I’m working hard on a re-write of Human Resources (the excerpts posted are the results of this process) and am *super* keen to get additional feedback on what I have posted so far - especially after the first two (I received some amazing feedback during Draftshares on those two excerpts).
I’m more than happy to return the favour and provide feedback on other writer’s work.
Quick summary of what you would be getting into : Vampires (not sparkly), zombies, near-future sci-fi (as grounded as I can make it).
Human Resources is an action / adventure tale, not horror.
I’m happy to take all feedback, from deeply technical to developmental. I’m just eager to improve my writing and the story as much as possible before I pull the trigger on a campaign.
@Nell Walton I recently messed around with the format and apparently removed the "follow by email" button. Thanks for pointing it out, it’s back up there! Absolutely, we can certainly help each other out!
@John Kim Thanks for the kind words, I’m glad you dig it! I can’t message you so If you send me a DM, I can reply with info.
@A.C. Weston Great questions! Guess I should have put a bit more thought into the original post, that’s what I get for doing things without coffee!
I’m planning to add a paragraph or so at the end of each post, telling readers what I dig about the project and the author and why I think they should support it.
I don’t necessarily need to love every project that will be put on the blog (I just don’t enjoy every genre. I don’t think anyone does). However, I will be checking project pages and making sure that the authors are serious about what they’re doing. If I don’t love the story/genre/color of the cover (yes that’s exaggerating to make a point!) I need to know that I can at least put my stamp of approval on the author’s work ethic, powerful dialogue, basic grasp of grammar, etc...
