As of this writing, we have about FORTY-TWO HOURS LEFT on the Inkshares Mystery & Thriller contest. If you haven’t placed a pre-order yet for "Cat’s Paw", now would be the time to do it.

From the last will and testament of Sir Lawrence Linwood, dated 14 September 1914:

...However, in the event that I should die from unnatural causes, that is, by another’s hand; and, assuming the identity of my killer remains a mystery to the police; then, in lieu of the above, I bequeath the entirety of my residual estate, less the bequests listed in the first section, to whichever of my three children (Alan, Roger, or Caroline) first identifies my killer to the police....

From Sir Lawrence Linwood’s letter to his younger son, Roger Linwood, dated 28 March 1921:

...As such, I will be contacting my solicitors within the next week to alter my will in your favour. I’m afraid Alan will not be pleased, but as he has no time for England, I have no time for him; and Caroline, of course, never expected anything to begin with. Keep this information close to your chest. If anything should happen to me....

Less than one week to go!

Ladies and gentlemen, we have less than one week before the end of the Inkshares Mystery & Thriller contest. We’re currently at second place with 119 readers, but anything can happen in a week, and our friends down in 3rd and 4th are just hitting their second wind. Do we have a second wind? I hope we do. If you know anyone who might be interested in a tale of suspense -- of murder, conspiracy, and suspicion -- be sure to point them this way. Don’t forget to check to see if you really have placed your order.

And remember, pre-ordering a physical copy of the book also gets you the e-book bundled in together!

Fernando Crôtte liked an update for The One: A Cruise Through the Solar System

Hi everyone, thank you for all the support.

This month The One: A Cruise Through the Solar System hit a new milestone. Its first award.

I thank all of those of you that voted for it, this is a wonderful feeling.

      Other news:
I am well on the way of writing book two, and have the first 3 chapters of the first draft finished. I will update with snippets and quotes in a future update. For now all I can say is that I am working on the court scenes for the hijackers. (Did you know that hijacking and piracy fall under different jurisdictions and rules? I didn’t when I wrote book one.)

Back in early October I did a few public outings around The One. First I went back to my old high school and gave four lectures to seniors about being an author and world building. The talks were well received, and some of the students are sure to become authors in the future (you could see them sitting on the edge of their seats and asking all sorts of questions). The media studies teacher will be having her class do a project in January to make a book trailer for The One, the winning team will get autographed copies of it. So expect to see that video by March.

And to close I would like to share something that was told to me, and that every author loves to hear, "I have read your book several times and keep finding new things to like."

So thank you all again for your support.
      Eric

PS. I will be "going wide" in the next few weeks. So The One should be available at regular book stores not just ones that work with Amazon. I will share links when I have them.

Fernando Crôtte liked an update for Crow’s Gambit

        Greetings Crow’s Gambit Followers,

Things are still forward on Crow’s Gambit. I have spent the last several weeks working through the developmental edit comments for the draft. For those who don’t know that means I have been working through a fifteen page editor summary and margin comments throughout the entire draft. Some changes are being made to the plot to clear up some things that weren’t clear or that I didn’t intend to have happen in the first place. If everything goes according to schedule I’ll have the updated draft back in the editor’s hands next week. Then we start the line edits.

Stay with me. We are making progress.

Fernando Crôtte liked an update for Shadow King

            November 24, 2018

Hello, hello! For those who celebrated, I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We hosted at our house and it was really nice to have everyone together.

I wanted to share a couple quick updates with you all.

NEW PROJECT! My short story, Chrysalis, is part of the Writing Bloc’s upcoming ESCAPE! Anthology. This is an amazing collection of stories from some tremendous writers -- and I’m honored to be part of it. You can pre-order your e-copy now (for $2.99 -- price will go to $5.99 on January 1). The e-book version will come out first but there are plans for a print release as well. I really encourage you to grab a copy -- you’ll be glad you did!

Interviews: First, I had a delightful conversation with Sarah from the GSMC Book Review Podcast the other day. The interview is now live, please check it out!

Reviews: Reviews are coming in slowly, but remain very, very positive (latest one on Amazon is 5 star, whoo hoo!). If you have read your copy of Shadow King -- please consider taking a moment or two and putting a review up on Amazon or Goodreads. Reviews are really valuable.

Events: The Arisia Convention has changed hotels in Boston and that may affect the days I’m in attendance. I’ll keep you posted on exactly which days when things get a little clearer.

That’s it for now -- have a great rest of your day!

            Best,

            Susan
