Only 2 days left to hit at least 250 preorders!
Also its Wednesday which may cause some of you to note how I missed both my Sunday and Tuesday updates. With the deadline so quickly approaching I decided to skip those updates in favor of doubling up on pitching the book.
We're currently at 285 followers, and 86 copies ordered by only 78 of those followers. That means 207 of you haven't ordered yet, and if only 164 of you(roughly 3/4) did then we would be at the Quill goal. While I'm too much of a realist to not acknowledge that its a long shot with such a small amount of time remaining, I'm also too stubborn to give up and not push for it to happen.
With that in mind I'll point out that now is the perfect time to take the chance on Exile, Magus by going ahead and hitting that order button. If enough of you do so, then this book will be published by Inkshares and find its way into your hands. If not, then your money and/or credits will be refunded to you after the campaign ends so that you'd have it back in about 3 days time. So I beg of you to order now if you haven't done so already.
That's all I've got for today. I will be back Saturday to for an end of funding campaign update. As always I want to thank everyone for your support, it has been quite entirely heartwarming. I just wish I'd been able to communicate more directly with all of you. If any of you do want to communicate with me, then you should hit me up on Facebook and/or Twitter(@thoasoold). In the meantime, keep reading and enjoying!
65 books, 29 days!! Plus a raffle!
Hello all and Happy Tuesday! We're getting closer and closer, but there's still a ways to go so why not jump in and pre-order "Women Like Us" if you haven't yet (or you can order again even if you already have...just saying!) Today I'm also announcing what I hope will be the last raffle for people who order the book. This one has to do with our Beagle Freedom Project adoptee Derric. If you don't know about the Beagle Freedom Project (see link below), this wonderful organization negotiates freedom for Beagles and other animals from labs where they were being subjected to either medical or cosmetics testing. When these beagles are in captivity they are not know by names, but by letters and numbers tattooed in their ears. Derric actually has two tattoos, which means he was in two different labs during the first five years of his life. Some other adopters have honored their beagles with tattoos of their own, and I always loved that idea. Why? Well, mainly because I consider Derric such a brave little man -- how many of us could be put through what he went through and still emerge the fun, playful little clown he is today. So...the raffle (which has already started and has some names in the hat) -- I will pick a winner from the next bunch of pre-orders and that winner will help select the design and placement of the tattoo honoring Derric. Here, watch the video for more (plus you'll get a glimpse of Derric and his beagle bro George!)
Because it's hard to make out the design I'm toying with, here's a look too. And hey if you are artistically inclined and have any ideas, please submit them because I can't draw for S**t!

By the way, if publish goal is met I will be donating 10% of book sales to the Beagle Freedom Project, and here's the link if you want to know more:
So that's it for now. Thanks for your support so far. And have a great day.
Hey guys,
I know I've been making updates a lot lately but that won't be happening as much from now on because I have a very heavy course load this semester with six classes every Tuesday and Thursday. That won't hinder my writing because I hand write all of my chapters but I won't be posting as much, I will try to post at least two chapters a week and then an update every weekend if I can remember to.
I will be adding the next two parts of the series as drafts soon so if you like this book and would like to finish out the Lost Princess series please look for those. I have decided to focus all of my time on this series and making it as good as it can be.
Thank you!
Thanks again to everyone for your continued support! You're amazing, inspiring, and just plain awesome. It's been a pretty crazy week, but I have to say that having the Quill mark behind me has lifted quite a heavy load of stress off my shoulders. And as a result, my creativity is flowing like a river once again!
One of the things I've been toiling with these past few days is a new cover design. At some point I'll need to re-do the cover (with the appropriate font and image rights), so I figured I might as well get a head start now. Here's where I'm at so far:

My plan is to create some sort of symbol or simple illustration in the center. But before I get into that, does anyone have any input to share? Do you like the font and spacing? Have an idea for the symbol/illustration? Do you miss the triangles? Let me know!
Cheers and have a great week!
Weel it's been a rough start to the new year with lots of work and bills and the stunning realization that yes I did in fact buy that thing and yes my credit card is that high as a result... all of this of course made it into the new novel, but good god I still have the first book to get out there. So hi! I'm back, still staring down those deadlines that have been dogging me since December, while looking askance and in some cases pretending the non-existence of a few other commitments that I really wish I had looked at a little more carefully before agreeing to.
You guys know how it is, right? After all, we're all adults here and that credit card thing is a bit of a doozy.
I've been seeing the tremendous efforts of people like Tony Valdez out there pushing hard on his novel DAX HARRISON (you really gotta check it out because it's freaking awesome) and a lot of the other authors here on Inkshares and I've been willing myself to get involved more in the community, talk back more, give more updates. I've been a lot more active over on Wattpad and have been trying to get some of my followers to actually follow me over here to Inkshares since they like the book so much, but movement like that is hard as hell for even the most committed fans.
So this is the day I make the commitment to Inkshares since the Wattpadders aren't going anywhere and you guys here have yet to read the first book. It's time to cycle up the Twitter and other social media engines and really push to get the word out about SO YOU MIGHT BE A VAMPIRE.
Quick note - I'm running a contest over on my blog, just wanted you guys to be able to play too. This is for my first book - many characters from which appear in Asteroid Made of Dragons. Please share this around! Anyone can enter who is a giant, GIANT nerd and would like a free audiobook and maybe a $50.00 gift certificate to their local book store.

Time for another giveaway! I’ve been sitting on these download codes for the Spell/Sword audiobook for long enough. My birthday is at the end of the month and to celebrate I want to GIVE 10 people a free download of the book from Audible.com. Admittedly I’m GIVING you these with the idea that you will GIVE me an honest review and GIVE me your undying support and perhaps GIVE me a sandwich if I am hungry at some undisclosed date in the future. All of this giving, it warms the heart.10 people will win the free download, and one person will win the The Gray Prize.
