Robert Batten sent an update for Human Resources

A couple of updates for everyone this week. 

First of all: I’ve just uploaded a new chapter: Spring Cleaning! This chapter brings in some new characters, has plenty of action, and finally starts to introduce some of the tech you’ve all been waiting for. Check it out and let me know what you think!

Secondly: I’ve added a book cover! It is still only an interim cover which I put together from a stock image (graphic design is not my forte), but it is hopefully an improvement from the default book cover provided by Inkshares and should help make Human Resources more recognisable.

      Hi All,

      I’m working hard on a re-write of Human Resources (the excerpts posted are the results of this process) and am *super* keen to get additional feedback on what I have posted so far - especially after the first two (I received some amazing feedback during Draftshares on those two excerpts).

      I’m more than happy to return the favour and provide feedback on other writer’s work. 

      Quick summary of what you would be getting into : Vampires (not sparkly), zombies, near-future sci-fi (as grounded as I can make it).
      Human Resources is an action / adventure tale, not horror.

      I’m happy to take all feedback, from deeply technical to developmental. I’m just eager to improve my writing and the story as much as possible before I pull the trigger on a campaign.

      I got my original cover for the Seventh Age from Drake Mefestta Designs. He does a bunch of cover art. Just send me a PM if you are interested.

          Design Contest  Found my current cover for Dragon Siege, and I will be using the same designer for all the books in the series as long as she will have me.

            Just a general discussion of the methods everyone is using to grow their readership.  Share your ideas here.  For instance, I share subtitles as micro-serials on sites like Wattpad and Penana. So far It has garnered a modicum of readers.

              This is a really interesting issue @Matthew Poat, thank you for pointing it out to us! I’ll pass along this info and see how we can fix it. Sometimes we need a fresh set of eyes on our site so we know where we can improve.

                I’ve noticed that, whenever someone registers and uses the default name "Reader Writer", the dashboard indicates that I have already sent them a thank you email, even though I haven’t. I guess the dashboard list is based on username as opposed to email address. 

                Can this be looked into and resolved. I would love to be able to tell accurately who I have thanked and who I have not.

                  First thing first, I just wanted to thank all of the wonderful people who have followed, commented upon, reviewed and critiqued Invictus. You help keep the Invictus ball rolling, and I fully intend on taking everything on board and doing my best to make the book the best it can be.

                  Secondly, I have uploaded chapter three. This short aims to give insight into the lives of the various families and the world as a whole.

                  Finally, I want to update on the overall progress. I’m well into drafting my way through the novel, and the whole book at this point is planned out and ready to have fleshy attachments. This July I shall be participating in camp Nanowrimo, and shall aim to plow through the rest of a first draft for the whole thing. So it’ll be a quiet month, and then I’ll be (hopefully) getting the ball rolling on pre-ordering.
