DAX FANS!

I’ll make this quick. As always, apologies for my lengthy radio silence. Rest assured, I’m hard at work. I have received some amazing feedback from my test readers so far. The book definitely needs a little bit of work, but overall, the response is SUPER POSITIVE!

I am ridiculously excited. First off, I’m overjoyed that people are liking this silly little book at all. Some of my favorite moments from the story have been met with equally giddy enthusiasm, and that blows me away! Also, I am incredibly grateful to have some honest feedback regarding the parts that could be improved. I am now on the path to make this story better than I thought possible.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU all again for your patience. I want you to have this book in your hands YESTERDAY, but I have a bit more work to do before that happens.

TO THE WRITING CAVE! AWAAAY!

Oh wait, one more thing! This is going to feel like bragging, but...

An Inkshares Staff Pick?! When did that happen? Did I get the memo? In any case, that’s kinda awesome. I guess I better go make it worth the wait!

Jason Chestnut sent an update for To Live and Die in Avalon

    Hey, everyone!

As promised, I have recorded a reading of an unreleased chapter of the novel (chapter 8 to be precise)! This was in lieu of an issue of the Avalon Chronicler, but rest assured, there will be a new one of those later this week.

You can find the reading here: https://youtu.be/W6asDxKMyCw

There is a little bit of setup for the scene I read (which is actually the second half of the chapter). It is about eleven minutes of audio and has some nice character interactions and offers a glimpse at the wasteland that Earth has become (appropriately enough, the background music is from Fallout 3).

We are still a bit far off from Quill, so if you haven’t pre-ordered yet, please do so! Those of you who have, thank you again for the support, please share with your networks so we can get the word out! Hopefully, this helps by way of letting the work speak for itself!

Toward the end of this week, I will make some revisions to the first draft then send it out to my beta readers, print out a copy for myself and then go into serious editing mode to work toward a refined second draft. It’s very exciting to see it come this far and to see where it’s headed!

Thanks again everyone and please, feel free to reach out to me directly via direct message, Twitter, Facebook or email!

      Readers,

Hi, y’all. Sorry for the lengthy silence and no updates anywhere. I was on vacation last week with my family and was unable to get to my computer for an update. I also spent a surprisingly large amount of time eating, sleeping, and then eating some more. I’ve included a picture so you can see I’m telling the truth.

      Pictured: RH Webster on vacation

The few orders that have been trickling in recently are so appreciated, you guys. It warms my cold, cynical heart to see your support. We have a few more months to go, but if we were to hit our 750 orders before then we’d be able to publish that much faster! I know you’re as excited as I am to see this little draft of mine become a published book that you can put on your bookshelf. Remember, tell your family, your friends, the barista who makes your coffee at Starbucks...everyone. Working together is the only way we can make this dream a reality!

I’m working on the draft and my blog (www.rhwebster.wordpress.com) as much as I can right now, but I’m back to my real-life job this week too (everyone needs a paycheck and I’m not famous yet). In the meantime, thanks for your patience (and maybe think some happy vibes for my sanity).

A thousand thanks to you all,

      - Webster

Jason Chestnut sent an update for To Live and Die in Avalon

        Hey, everyone!

I hope your weekend is off to a great start! I still plan on recording a reading of one of the later chapters of the book, but time has not allotted me an opportunity as of yet. Also, I’ve decided to make it audio only, simply because the last two attempts I made at making a video yesterday were unsuccessful (comical, but unsuccessful). The chapter reading will be in lieu of an issue of the Avalon Chronicler, as I have put 200% of my writing effort into completing the first draft of the novel (lots of coffee, lots of the Pandora trip-hop station, lots of all nighters).

The big news is that the first draft of the novel is DONE!

I’ve walked away from it to let it stew for about a bit before I start revisions and then send the draft out to my first round of beta readers. I’ve started working on something else in the meantime, which I may put up in draft mode, since that’s a feature of Inkshares I didn’t get to take advantage of the first time around. I will keep you all posted on that!

Still more stuff coming, a website revamp, some original music, perhaps some more artwork and the audio-only chapter reading very soon!

Thanks again to all of you who have already pre-ordered a copy and supported me, I’m very excited for you to read the finished product! I have to say, even in this early form, I am really happy with how the book came out. I think it is a fun-filled romp, with a little bit of the introspective questions that classic science fiction often raised. It also came out to be a bit shorter than I originally thought, which I think is a good thing.

That’s it for today, enjoy your weekend superspies!
