Now that it’s not April 1st, here is the REAL World Builders post on the world of Blood Dawn. I hope you all enjoyed the parody version. And if anyone is disappointed that the new Blood Dawn cover doesn’t actually have the Flying Spaghetti Monster on it, never fear -- I’m saving the file for a special limited time edition perhaps some April 1st down the road.
Okay now, seriously, check this post out because I think I captured the story of the world in miniature in a powerful way. And while you’re there, you can also check out the previous World Builders 2.0 posts where I’ve had the pleasure of featuring the worlds of other great authors like Amanda Orneck, Andrew Wood, R. Heinz, Melissa Berg, G. Derek Adams, C. Brennecke, Brian Guthrie, and more!

Dear Readers,
There’s good news and bad news (always, right?). The good news: I have figured out a brilliant way to fix the middle of Lucky. Currently, the middle of the novel says this exactly: "[...stuff happens...]" And then moves on to the next scene. My editor doesn’t like this, so I’ve cooked up a fantastic way of fixing it.
The bad news is that I cooked it up at 3:30 this morning, woke up, scribbled it down on the back of an envelope, then went back to sleep. Now, in the light of day, I have no idea what I wrote.
However, we shall persevere and we shall get this thing done. This afternoon will be dedicated to deciphering the hieroglyphics I wrote last night in my sleep, and tomorrow will be editing Chapter Nine.
What’s that? You want to read Chapter Nine? Then share this novel with everyone you know so we can hit 500 orders!
Happy Saturday!

Hi everyone,
Firstly, apologies for the long time between updates, I’d lost track of how long it had been.
Unfortunately, things have been slow to non-existent for the last month or so when it comes to progress. It’s disappointing, for me and for you guys too, but I’ve been getting over some exhaustion issues and writing has often been the furthest thing from my mind.
That said, it’s April, and Camp NaNoWriMo has just opened up, and I’m forcing myself to participate. So I’ve spent the last week or so getting myself reacquainted with the story and the outlines for the unwritten parts (have I mentioned I really like my ending?...because I do) and I will be forging ahead to get this first draft knocked out.
I’ve also got an extended chunk of Ghosts in the hands of a few readers, so over the next month or so I should be getting some feedback that I can use to start shaping the next drafts.
Updates should be a little more regular while NaNo is going on, so keep an eye out for them.
Until next time.
Dear readers,
Here’s something fun for APRIL FOOL’S DAY!

Hello "CotF" backers ~
Work continues on the book, with heavy editing and beta-reading underway. I’m still putting the finishing touches on the last portion of the story, but I’m hoping to have a complete manuscript by the end of May for final submission. That being said, I intend to take my time in finishing the book, to guarantee that every backer receives the best product possible.
I do have some good news - I have one finished portrait and two preliminary sketches, showing off a bunch of the beautiful artwork backers can look forward to with the art booklet -

Time for another update! Short and to the point.
1. You are awesome!
2. Rise is out to various media types for reviews!
3. Still looking at a release party before Dragoncon. Those within driving range or attending the con and arriving on Thursday stay tuned for details.
4. I’m doing it again!! I have a new project in the pipeline ready to participate in the upcoming Geek and Sundry Hard Science contest. This story was the brainchild of my wife and I. It was the novel I first completed Nanowrimo with way back in 2011! So, you’d think I’d be all set for it. But, as with all things like this, draft one was...not up to snuff. So I’m reworking it over the next 8 weeks to have it ready to go by the end of the contest. And it’s only going to be 50K words! Nice after the 155K Rise clocked in at.
5. This is not a "funding campaign". I want to dispel that right off. Inkshares fronts the lion-share of the cost for production and distribution. I’ve seen the numbers so far. The preorder money only took the top off that total. So, what is this instead? It’s an opportunity for you to pick what the industry publishes and a chance to get a limited run first edition autographed by the author when it arrives instead of someday down the road! And there are lower thresholds to win a contract now: 250 for a light, but still physical distribution contract and 750 for the whole shebang Rise got.
6. Still reading? Go to tiny.cc/aftermannovel to check out the new project and if you like it, please follow. You’ll be able to pre-order starting Monday, 4 April 2016, and I hope you will come on board and support this one just like you did Rise. And remember, you don’t get charged until it reaches the preorder goal!
7. You are awesome!
Happy Spring everyone!
