Only 2 days left to hit at least 250 preorders!
Also its Wednesday which may cause some of you to note how I missed both my Sunday and Tuesday updates. With the deadline so quickly approaching I decided to skip those updates in favor of doubling up on pitching the book.
We're currently at 285 followers, and 86 copies ordered by only 78 of those followers. That means 207 of you haven't ordered yet, and if only 164 of you(roughly 3/4) did then we would be at the Quill goal. While I'm too much of a realist to not acknowledge that its a long shot with such a small amount of time remaining, I'm also too stubborn to give up and not push for it to happen.
With that in mind I'll point out that now is the perfect time to take the chance on Exile, Magus by going ahead and hitting that order button. If enough of you do so, then this book will be published by Inkshares and find its way into your hands. If not, then your money and/or credits will be refunded to you after the campaign ends so that you'd have it back in about 3 days time. So I beg of you to order now if you haven't done so already.
That's all I've got for today. I will be back Saturday to for an end of funding campaign update. As always I want to thank everyone for your support, it has been quite entirely heartwarming. I just wish I'd been able to communicate more directly with all of you. If any of you do want to communicate with me, then you should hit me up on Facebook and/or Twitter(@thoasoold). In the meantime, keep reading and enjoying!
65 books, 29 days!! Plus a raffle!
Hello all and Happy Tuesday! We're getting closer and closer, but there's still a ways to go so why not jump in and pre-order "Women Like Us" if you haven't yet (or you can order again even if you already have...just saying!) Today I'm also announcing what I hope will be the last raffle for people who order the book. This one has to do with our Beagle Freedom Project adoptee Derric. If you don't know about the Beagle Freedom Project (see link below), this wonderful organization negotiates freedom for Beagles and other animals from labs where they were being subjected to either medical or cosmetics testing. When these beagles are in captivity they are not know by names, but by letters and numbers tattooed in their ears. Derric actually has two tattoos, which means he was in two different labs during the first five years of his life. Some other adopters have honored their beagles with tattoos of their own, and I always loved that idea. Why? Well, mainly because I consider Derric such a brave little man -- how many of us could be put through what he went through and still emerge the fun, playful little clown he is today. So...the raffle (which has already started and has some names in the hat) -- I will pick a winner from the next bunch of pre-orders and that winner will help select the design and placement of the tattoo honoring Derric. Here, watch the video for more (plus you'll get a glimpse of Derric and his beagle bro George!)
Because it's hard to make out the design I'm toying with, here's a look too. And hey if you are artistically inclined and have any ideas, please submit them because I can't draw for S**t!

By the way, if publish goal is met I will be donating 10% of book sales to the Beagle Freedom Project, and here's the link if you want to know more:
So that's it for now. Thanks for your support so far. And have a great day.
Dear readers. My Screenwriting tips will be incoming next week, very excited about sharing them with you.
As we enter the last month of ordering, my generous supporter Felicia Day has agreed to include a signed headshot of herself with each hardback "Reader"-level order of my book.
She will only be doing the signing UP TO 750 orders, so if you would like to receive this bonus, then it's probably best to order now.
Excited to enter the last stretch and reach our goal of full publishing. Thank you for your support.
Regards,
Patrick
Thanks again to everyone for your continued support! You're amazing, inspiring, and just plain awesome. It's been a pretty crazy week, but I have to say that having the Quill mark behind me has lifted quite a heavy load of stress off my shoulders. And as a result, my creativity is flowing like a river once again!
One of the things I've been toiling with these past few days is a new cover design. At some point I'll need to re-do the cover (with the appropriate font and image rights), so I figured I might as well get a head start now. Here's where I'm at so far:

My plan is to create some sort of symbol or simple illustration in the center. But before I get into that, does anyone have any input to share? Do you like the font and spacing? Have an idea for the symbol/illustration? Do you miss the triangles? Let me know!
Cheers and have a great week!
The 4th Raffle has arrived!
Here's the video for you to see if you've won:

Congrats to the winner! The next drawing will happen when I reach 80 readers.
Wow, that was brief.
Today I want to announce something exciting for Blood Dawn!
I'm finally on Johnslist, thanks to Craig Monroe, author of The Bones of the Past and a winner of the recent Sword & Laser Contest 2.
So ... what's Johnslist?
Nothing at all like Craiglist, I promise. Johnslist is one of many ideas the Inkshares author community on Goodreads has come up with to help work together and promote other Inkshares books. The idea behind it is simple: one of the community members creates a thread encouraging other members to help a certain project get funded. An author cannot create a thread for themselves, because otherwise that's self-promotion. It has to genuinely be other members of the community. I was the first author to do this for Andrew Wood's great epic fantasy book, Storm of Fury, but then the trend continued, which is why the authors named it after me.
If you'd like to help Blood Dawn get fully funded, then you can join the efforts. First and most important, if you haven't bought the book yet, then let's rectifying that right now -- click here to order an ebook or print book of Blood Dawn.
All right, so for those who have ordered and really want to help get this book into bookstores everywhere, you can now join the team effort. Just follow this link to the thread:
https://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/17978018-let-s-get-blood-dawn-fully-funded
If you're an author and you haven't heard of the Inkshares promotion group, then be sure to join up because you're missing out on an amazing wealth of knowledge on how to succeed with crowdfunding a book. Even if you're not an author, feel free to join our group if you are a passionate reader and would like to help or share ideas. The community is open to all. Plus, we'd all love to hear from some readers on exactly what interests them or turns them off when it comes to choosing new book projects to back.
The final 3 months is here, so lets work together and make this happen!
