Thank you all for being so cooperative with me in preparing in my campaign. I’m planning on posting the highlighted quotes from the story on instagram and other apps to help push for my book. If there are any sections you think will influence people to read and preorder my book, please highlight it. We can do this!

I firmly believe we can get this project published together. I’m not sure if any project has been published on this site without some sort of team effort. If everything goes as planned The Burned will be up for preorder this month, I need your help and support.

I’m happy to say that I’ve had good conversations with most of you (if I haven’t contacted you, message me: I love hearing from you guys) you are some great people and have been incredible help. But the publishing process on inkshares is similar to a sporting event, the audience helps to make the product what it is. It’s more than something you hold in your hands. A book, especially an inkshares book, is an experience that is worth taking part in.

Yeah if I ever have a problem with the story itself as far as dialogue or just describing something . I just take that moment to go do something else and get my mind off it for a second to come back fresh. Names don’t work that way for me though because I’m so picky about them.

Also to @Luke Fellner I get a lot of story inspiration from books and games alike. Games can have some great deep stories too and in some ways, they connect you a lot closer to the characters than in more traditional books. I had an author at a convention give me these tips
1.Forget the "rules" people think there is some set way a book has to be and that is simply not true. Try new things, add your own flair, draw inspiration from anything you want. Never feel like you have to follow some specific ruleset or convention in order to write.
2.Don’t write a story you think people are expecting or wanting to read. Write a story you want to write and then sell that to them and then let them connect with it.

There were some others but yeah those two stuck with me after that and help me.

Dialogue, Dialogue, and oh yea Dialogue. I catch myself putting words in the mouths of my characters that is so incredibly off message, and then I run away from the keyboard and cry lol.

But in all seriousness, most things that stop you can be fixed by going on a walk. Everytime I get stuck I go on a walk, and clear my head. Then the solution presents itself.

Get your social media presence up. Even if you don’t personally have a large following, you can word of mouth it. Encourage people to like/comment/share/retweet/etc. Also, be excited! It’s contagious. The more jazzed you are about your project, the more that other people will be curious about it and check it out more. Getting involved with this community is also a huge help!

I’m looking for all the help I can get, my book The Burned will be up for pre-order soon. Any tips for what grabs people’s attention? I don’t have an incredibly large following so I’ll need all the help I can get.

If you’re feeling generous I’d appreciate if you could read through my samples and decide on whether you’d like to follow my book or not. If you’re feeling REALLY generous you might even tell all of your friends to pre-order it! (please?)
