Kendra Namednil liked an update for Proteus

Alright friends, the grand finale is approaching.

Technically, it’s more like 28.5, since the campaign actually ends in the afternoon on the 29th, but close enough.

We are now officially in the final month of the Proteus campaign: a campaign that has been running for well over a year now and gathered an astonishing 558 orders already. We have less than 200 left to acquire, then Proteus will receive the same full publication deal that Tantalus Depths has already earned.

Can we do it? 192 orders in one month is no small thing, after all. Even so, the answer is a firm yes. Not only can we do it in that time, but we can likely do it sooner. On Tantalus Depths’ last day campaigning, we gathered more than 80 orders. 80 orders in one day. Granted, two syndicates boosted us that day as well, but my point stands, we could hit that goal in just one or two days of real, solid support.

I don’t expect to reach our goal in two days, obviously. But my point is, we could. Our final goal is absolutely within our reach. My personal goal is to finish the Proteus campaign before Tantalus Depths goes into copy edits, which is likely to happen in the next two weeks. This is an extremely doable goal, provided we really rally for it.

Now more than ever, I need your support. If you haven’t yet ordered Proteus, order a copy. Order two copies. If you have ordered a copy, order a second copy. Get your friends to order a copy, get your family to order copies. Ask anyone you can think of to order a copy. If you can’t afford to buy a copy, please tell everyone you know about this book, share these posts on your social media platforms, be as obnoxious about it as I’ve been this entire past year.

It’s not going to be easy. It’s going to be stressful and exhausting. But it will be so worth it.

Let’s do this thing.

Reviews on Goodreads and Amazon are nice. I’m just saying.

    Dear friends and followers,

The ebook download links for "A Gentleman’s Murder" were sent out today. I am currently at the Inkshares office signing the books for those of you who ordered print copies during the funding campaign. Those should be shipped out tomorrow--a little later than I’d have liked, but you can’t have everything.

We’re nearly there! It’s been a long road, and I hope you’ll enjoy this story, almost as much as I hope you’ll tell the world about it. Your voice counts for something in this world, and your honest opinion would mean a great deal to me.

As noted above, reviews on Goodreads and Amazon are wonderful things.

Kendra Namednil liked an update for MINE

Wanted to share current events with my beautiful supporters regarding the project. The Dev Letter came with astute guidance on how to improve, basically, everything, and a few issues that needed to be addressed.

I’ve since outlined my proposed changes, sent them back, and have gotten the green light to proceed to draft #2 of the manuscript.

You may notice I’m not calling it Murder Happens. Been exploring other titles per the editor’s suggestion. Right now, Mine is making a lot of sense to me.

Very excited by how the story is evolving, and enjoying this writing, polishing stage.

Thank you all for this opportunity. I appreciate it so much. And if you haven’t pre-ordered, consider it now while the price is right.

And you can follow my author page on facebook because, why not?

Also, wanted to mention Tonya Mitchell’s story, A Feigned Madness. I greatly enjoy historical fiction and the premise of Nellie Bly’s story is so juicy. Funding now, check it out:

Kendra Namednil liked an update for APEX

        Dear Readers,

I know it’s been awhile since I sent an update from Inkshares. I was trying to avoid annoying you with the double emails coming from my deborahmunroauthor.com website. So this update is just for you, not everyone on my email list.

First off, thank you all so much for your continued support. It means the world to me and gives me the strength to keep going with the editing and revising time and time again. APEX has feedback from two beta readers now, and they agree that it is shaping up into a compelling story that they had trouble putting down. In fact, one of them read the whole thing in a single sitting, which gladdens my heart :).

The next step is to incorporate their feedback, and then it’s back to my editor. The main issue left to resolve is on characterization. I have to flesh out my characters a little more and build their relationship further, but I’m close!

In case you missed some earlier updates from my website account, I am in the process of moving to New Zealand! Yes, it’s true that I’m becoming a Kiwi. I’ll be developing a biomedical engineering program within the mechanical engineering department at a university there. And I depart in two short weeks.

As you can imagine, that means life is chaotic at the moment with work projects, clearing out, packing, selling my house, establishing a home base abroad, and on and on. So, I’ve had to put APEX on hold until I’m settled again, which means the book won’t be in your hands until next year. Sigh...I was really hoping to have it to you sooner. But I hope you’ll find it was worth the wait! :)

Feel free to email me at dmunro@deborahmunroauthor.com or reply through Inkshares. I love hearing from you.

Best wishes to you all, and I’ll see you on the flip side of the world!

        Cheers, Debbie

          Important announcement:

There is currently a glitch on Proteus’ Inkshares page making it look as if it has sold only two copies. I’ve reached out to Inkshares and they have assured me that we have lost *no* pre-orders for Proteus: they merely are not currently showing on the project page. According to my records, we have 512 orders right now, regardless of what it says on Proteus’ Inkshares page.
None of you are in danger of losing the copies you’ve ordered.
Carry on as you were, troops.

Kendra Namednil liked an update for Shadow King

            July 20, 2018

Hello, hello! Hope you’re all having a wonderful summer. I just wanted to share a few quick updates on "Shadow King."

            The Manuscript
The book itself continues to move through the process. It is with the typesetter now and I should get my first look at the layout on or around July 30. From there we have a few more reviews as we close in on having a final book ready for physical production and release.

            Cover
The cover has been proofread, and once we know the spine size, my cover designer (the wonderful Charlene Maguire!) will be able to complete the final template that Inkshares will need.

            Important: Have you moved?
Everyone who has pre-ordered will get their copies of "Shadow King" in advance of the October 2 release date (yay!). If you ordered a hard copy, and have moved in the last 365 days, please contact Inkshares to update your shipping address! I’d hate to see your copy go to the wrong address!

            Interview
I was interviewed by Writing Bloc about "Shadow King" and writing dark fantasy as a genre. Please check it out!

            Spread the Word
Like all writers, I’m always interested in spreading the word about "Shadow King." Please share what you know about "Shadow King" with friends, family, your hair stylist, dog walker, and mailman (mailperson?). And if you’re following my adventures here but haven’t ordered yet, now would be a most auspicious time!

Thanks again for all of your support, and I’ll update again in August!

            Best,
            Susan

Kendra Namednil liked an update for Ghosts of War: Retribution

So the several year long journey of getting Ghosts of War: Retribution to publication day has finally come to an end. Many, many hours of writing and editing and deadlines and design and planning and crowdfunding and...

I got a cold on release day, proceeded to be wiped out, and forgot to do an update...

              Go me.

But fear not! The book is just as released today as it was yesterday and here are three simple things you can do to help the book as it takes it’s first steps into the wider world.

              1. Read it!

Unsurprisingly the first step is to actually read the book. If you haven’t yet received your print copy (they’re on the way!), you should be able to download the ebook from the Inkshares website. If you haven’t bought it yet, and would like to here are a few places you can do that:

              Physical

              • Amazon: http://a.co/bSrMEBY (Note: Amazon seems confused about the release date at the moment)
              • Inkshares: https://www.inkshares.com/books/ghosts-of-war
              • Barnes & Noble: https://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/ghosts-of-war-paul-robinson/1127930360
              • Indigo (Canada): https://www.chapters.indigo.ca/en-ca/books/ghosts-of-war-retribution/9781947848900-item.html
              • Booktopia (Australia): https://www.booktopia.com.au/ghosts-of-war-paul-robinson/prod9781947848900.html
              • Indiebound: https://www.indiebound.org/book/9781947848900
              • The Book Depository (Worldwide free shipping!): https://www.bookdepository.com/Ghosts-War-Paul-Robinson/9781947848900

              Ebook

              • Kobo (US Only): https://www.kobo.com/us/en/ebook/ghosts-of-war-10
              • Inkshares: https://www.inkshares.com/books/ghosts-of-war
              • Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Ghosts-War-Retribution-Paul-Robinson-ebook/dp/B07DJ5PH3B

              2. Leave reviews!

The next step is to head over to Amazon and Goodreads and leave your reviews. I believe the magic number is 50 reviews for Amazon before it does something magical with their algorithms. So lets aim for 50.

Every review helps grow the books profile, and will help to get it in front of more peoples eyes.

              • Amazon: http://a.co/bSrMEBY
              • Goodreads: https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/39858389-ghosts-of-war

               3. Tell some people about it! (or everyone even)

Spread the word. Tell people about the book. Encourage them to buy a copy (and leave a review!)

              -------------

I think that’ll do for the moment. Lastly though, I want to thank everyone that helped make this thing a reality, you’re all awesome. It still feels weird. It still doesn’t feel real. But I am a published author today (er, yesterday) because of all of you.

I do really need to go lie down now though.

I know,I should update regularly... I should just hire someone to help with this area, since I never know what to say, when very little happens. But, I have things to speak of now. First, anew cover.and updated material, freshly edited.

Kendra Namednil liked an update for The Catcher’s Trap

                  Hello Friends,

I have not reached out to you via Inkshares in a while. These days, I send updates through my monthly newsletter, but since I noticed a flurry of new followers I thought it was a good time to send you a quick message. If you want to subscribe to my newsletter sign up here. It is a monthly thing, no spamming at all.

A lot has happened in the past months. I finished and delivered to Inkshares the manuscript for my second novel Bad Medicine, I teamed up with a group friends to create an audio drama called Mermaids of Merrow’s Cove, and I also finished the sequel for The Catcher’s Trap, Worlds Walker.

I still don’t know how Worlds Walker will be published, though. I learned the hard way that it is hard to run a crowdfunding campaign when the people who supported you with a previous campaign have not received the book they were promised yet –in this case Bad Medicine- so Worlds Walker will be on stand by for now.

I’m in no rush, thought. After publishing The Catcher’s Trap I learned that patience is a virtue an author must have. Few books become instant best sellers, few authors get movie deals after one or two novels. The process of building a career in literature is long but, so far, incredibly rewarding.

A project that I think you should check out is my audio drama. Mermaids of Merrow’s Cove is a weekly murder mystery. Think Law and Order SVU meets The X-Files. The series take place in a small coastal town in New England and it follows Emma Kersey’s investigation of a mysterious woman that may or may not be a mermaid. The six episodes are out and I recommend you binge on them. Visit my website for the many ways in which you can listen to it www.ricardophenriquez.com

I fell in love with audio drama. What started as a quick fun project to work on while I waiting for Bad Medicine to go into production, became a real passion. The team I worked with is eager to start working on a second season, so I’m getting ready to start writing a new script.

What can I say, my creative life is moving in many new and exciting directions and that feels great.

If you are a recent follower, check my projects on Inkshares. I’m always eager to hear feedback and comments from readers and authors.

Continue enjoying your summer my friends.

Kendra Namednil liked an update for The Phantom Forest

                    Hi Readers!

I come bearing some pretty great news. As of this week, The Phantom Forest is being moved from the Quill collection to the "full" Inkshares catalog. So, what does this mean?

Well, first of all it’s an awesome opportunity! Quill is a limited release platform, in which I had to do a lot of the marketing/design legwork myself, or hire outside vendors. The bump up to the Inkshares catalog basically means the book will get greater marketing/publicity support, more reviews, updated artwork, and likely an additional pass with their fantastic in-house editor. The best news is that we are still shooting for the same release date - November 13th! There’s a lot to do before then, but the team is working hard and I’m hopeful we will pull it off.

Now, how did this happen? Because wonderful people like YOU started telling everyone how much you loved this book, and the Inkshares team listened. The Phantom Forest will enjoy a wider release and become accessible to even more readers because you made your voices heard. I am SO thankful I can’t even think straight.

This will likely be my last update on the Inkshares website, as I’m going to move everything over to an email listserv. Next time ya’ll hear from me, I’ll have many more details about this new and exciting process!

Thanks again everyone - this is truly a reader-driven platform and it appears the readers have spoken. You’re truly the best!

                    Liz
