Robert Batten liked an update for A Beast Requires

Yesterday, A Beast Requires pushed past 60 backers, and now 61 amazing people are behind me and my dream of making the world laugh their asses off. This is fantastic!

I’m taking a moment away from my notes on world building, which have been meticulously curated from bar napkins and legal pads, to talk about a few projects that I’m head over heels for.

I love She is the End. Like, really love it. Like, holy crap I am anxiously awaiting my beta copy so I can sink my teeth in and revel in the universe A.C. Weston has created. A space opera with a kick ass female protagonist, this is a book you need to read, and need to own. Currently it’s taking pre-orders on Inkshares.

My excitement for Terminus grows every day, as the setting tickles the inner workings of my brain. A world where technology enables us to talk to the dead? Yea, the premise alone sold me, and Jaye Milius’ writing blows me away. This is some seriously good science fiction, and right now it’s 44 backers short of meeting it’s light publishing goal. This book needs to be out there.

I wish I had known about Lucky earlier,. In a relatively short time I’ve become addicted to Cassandra "Lucky" Luckenbac, and need to see where this story goes. This book reads like an 80’s action sci-fi, and totally hits me in my nostalgia feels. Plus, I’m a sucker for a good conspiracy, and RH Webster looks to have crafted herself a doozy. The campaign ends in 15 days, so now is the time to jump on board and grab this book for a steal of a price.

Robert Batten liked an update for The Adventures of MONOMAN

We have three orders, but I know we can do a lot better. I know its asking a lot, but every bit of support counts and would be greatly appreciated. It’s difficult considering the fact that I don’t have a car and I don’t live directly in an urban area but I am working on getting several people I know to order the book.

Robert Batten liked an update for Tantalus Depths

It may be hard to believe, but I’m not the most talented person in my family.
My sister has been awesome enough to create this incredible Van Gogh-inspired SCARAB poster as a limited-edition special promotion. I call it "SCARABy Night."
Or maybe not...yeah, probably won’t be calling it that again...

Anyway, from now until September 1, anyone who either:
      A) pre-orders a paperback or super-reader copy of Tantalus Depths
      or
      B) refers someone who pre-orders a paperback or super-reader copy of Tantalus Depths will get a free copy of this poster sent to you shortly after September 1. You can also buy the poster directly from her Etsy shop until that date, if you choose to.

In order to ensure that there is zero misuse of Inkshares’ referral system, I want you to confirm your referrals with me personally through private message: Just shoot me a simple private message saying who you referred, and/or who referred you.

And please, while you’re at it, take a look at my sister’s shop, just generally. She’s extremely talented and has all kinds of great crafts and artwork. It’s well worth your time.

Robert Batten liked an update for Asteroid Made of Dragons

Hey gang! Inkshares is letting all of the Dragon-nominated books do a flash sale between now and the end of the month. Me and the rest of the published Sword & Laser Shelf is .99 in ebook until DragonCon.

You - probably- already have my book, but this is a perfect time to complete your set with my shelf-brethren.

The Life Engineered – by J.F. Dubeau

An Unattractive Vampire – by Jim McDoniel

The ebooks are DRM free of course - and sent to you in both .epub and .mobi.

This is, of course, part of promoting ourselves towards The Dragon Awards - have you, uh, have you -- voted for...for anyone..in particular...yet?

As a veteran of the last Geek and Sundry competition who is still clambering his way through his pre-order campaign, I can confirm that everyone is bumbling around here. We’ve all had surprise successes and unforeseeable setbacks in spite of hard work and careful planning.  Trust me: as overwhelming as this all feels right now, everyone who’s been around here for any amount of time knows exactly what it feels like.
It’s worth figuring out, though! It might end up being more work than it seemed at first, but it’s hard work that does pay off in the end.

Hey there! So I didn’t even know a place like this existed until the G&S fantasy contest started. I’m so into it, though! I still feel like I’m fumbling in the dark when it comes to diving into the community here, though. Not sure if there’s any tips or tricks to get to know folks around here. I’m always interested in getting to know other writers- trading stories/success/frustrations/etc.

So basically I just wanted to say hi! And see if there’s anywhere in particular I should start in order to shake the new kid feeling.

Robert Batten liked an update for Seven Days a Servant

                    My amazing readers and followers,

All of your support has been incredible. We have 47 people following Seven Days a Servant, and 31 pre-orders! I see a lot of new faces following the project, and I’d love to fill y’all in on what’s going on! At the end of this, I make a small request, so please do give me a hand.

First, I’d love to give a shout out to Jesse Cox and Jesse Rath for talking about the book on twitter. If you were introduced to this project by either of them, thanks for checking it out. If you don’t know who they are, you can find Mr. Rath’s work on the Defiance TV show or on a number of excellent shows - such as Being Human. Mr. Cox is a phenomenal YouTube star with a wide range of gaming videos on his YouTube page. He also collaborates with Geek and Sundry from time to time and has put in an excellent appearance on TableTop.

                    Check them out.

Last week, we placed two new chapters onto the Seven Days a Servant Inkshares page. We’ll have two more chapters this week as well as another article about the world of Promise and the philosophy behind it. I wanted to post that article on Friday, but it needed to cook a little longer.

You can find each posted chapter by following these links:

Dear readers, I have a favor to ask. There is a recommend button on the Inkshares page, and I’d like each of you to drop by and make a little recommendation. It only takes a moment, but you will need to write something about the same length as a tweet.

Thank you all, and keep spreading the word!
