Kelsey Rae Barthel liked an update for A Beast Requires

Well, we’ve reached another Monday.

Just a few, brief, early week tidbits before my day starts in earnest.

First off, holy shit! The WHY SO SERIOUS? Syndicate has selected A Beast Requires as their 1st selection!

I’m blown away, and incredibly honored that two amazing humor writers think A Beast Requires is not only funny, but a great book as well. Writing humor is a game of rough shot, and going in, you know that not every joke is going to land. The greatest joy I get from my readers is when they tell me about all the inopportune times they burst out laughing.

Secondly, I will be doing another awkward author video this week, talking about the world building that went into A Beast Requires. I mentioned it briefly forever and a day ago, but I feel it deserves a bit more of an in depth conversation. So stay tuned for that, and hit me up with any questions you have about A Beast Requires, or me, on Twitter @EremiticFool

And the last tidbit, my newest article is up on Killer Moose. This month I’m talking about Guardians of Order’s Game of Thrones RPG, GURPS Discworld, and the Dresden Files RPG. Yea, I go deep into settings, discussing if a game can stay true to its fandom while bringing in new players. So if you’re into tabletop RPGs, definitely check it out.

Also, can I mention how awesome the word tidbit is? So freaking glorious.

Kelsey Rae Barthel liked an update for The Last Faoii

    Okay, Faoii! Listen up!

The battle plan is set. We know the course, and we’re ready to follow it-- with you all backing me up, I know we can’t fail. The minute that refunds go out I want to push forward and open the new campaign, and I know that those of you who have supported me already will hold he line and put that money right back into Faoii’s publication. So, I changed the end date of the current set. You all should be getting your money back on Thursday. Which means we can charge forward and take that contest with a battle cry starting on Friday. There’ll be fire in our eyes and swords in our hands when we enter this last stretch-- people will know the minute we’re on the field, and it will be glorious.

If you follow my personal blog at all, you know that my life just broke into shambles a few days ago. I’ve swept the pieces into some sort of haphazard array that seems to be standing for the moment, and I’m going to move forward like that. Don’t pity or worry-- this is good news for you. Because while the rest of my life gets broken and swept aside or whatever, I have to keep my sanity by focusing on whatever positives I have-- namely The Last Faoii and your support. So most of my energy is going to be going into this campaign in the coming weeks. You can expect more artwork, more updates, yet another edit (or two) and I think I found another beta reader. Things are looking up for The Last Faoii. As long as I still have your support on Friday, we should be at the top of the contest early next week.

Up until now I have been invincible. Unstoppable. Whatever happens in my own life is irrelevant. I will not break now.  And The Last Faoii is going to succeed.

    See you on Friday.

Kelsey Rae Barthel liked an update for Devils in the Valley

I hope all of you are enjoying your weekend! I’ll try to make this update short and sweet. As I’ve mentioned in a previous update, according to Inkshares’ ideal rate of funding, Devils in the Valley should have 200 pre-orders by my birthday, August 26th.

That’s a pretty tall order. I think it’s only fair that I offer a reward if we reach it...

If we reach 200 pre-orders by 8/26, one of the first 200 pre-orderers will get a special item: a "From the Exercitus Files" manual that contains the update goal information (like the character profiles) and some other world-building content from Devils in the Valley--all in a physical, signed copy. If we reach 200 pre-orders by 8/26, every reader in the first 200 pre-orders will receive a free PDF copy of this manual. These manuals will all be distributed after the campaign ends. This "From the Exercitus Files" manual reward is in addition to any update rewards I’ve already listed on the Inkshares page.

Of course, this is only if we hit the astronomical 200 pre-ordered copies by August 26th. So put in your order, and convince your friends to do the same, ASAP!
