Have you been feeling a bit down in the dumps lately? Then check out some of the books below. They are guaranteed to bring a smile back to your face and have you wetting your pants with laughter!
Contribute $10 or more per month to the syndicate. Your contribution will be pooled with other members' and allocated by the syndicate lead to one Inkshares book each month. You'll get a copy of the book and be a recurring supporter of our authors! All funds are allocated to our authors - the syndicate will make no money off your contribution.
This might seem a bit awkward with such a small syndicate, but I have to cut some extra expenses, and syndicates are the first to go. It’s been a pleasure. Perhaps I’ll join up again in the future. All the best.
Yessir. Not funding the film, but the writing is quite fun and has a distinct voice. I think it would be in this syndicate’s best interests to back books with good chances for success, and I think Ms Hoyt’s book will at least hit quill, even if it doesn’t punch into the top 3 of the contest.
Although I do like Rob the Zombie very much, I think the book has been largely abandoned, as the author also has a book in the fantasy contest and he has not budged in sales since I bought his book over a month ago.
I am concerned about the lack of humorous books on the site, as it is kinda limiting our choices.
Well hello there young Michael! I’ve just gone and checked out the page for "The Fairy Stepmother Inc" and, although I found the video more annoying (sorry Maggie) then motivating, I had a read through some of Maggies actual writing and found it much more captivating then her acting (again, sorry Maggie). I’d be more than happy to back either this book or Rob the Zombie in September, since there doesn’t seem to be too many other humor based books out there at the minute.
I don’t know if you have anything in mind yet, but how about The Fairy Stepmother, Inc. by Maggie Hoyt? I know it’s backing another pony in the G&S fantasy contest, but it’s a funny premise and she’s obviously put a lot of thought and work into it. Any other books you want me to notice?
I managed to find the Syndicate selection button. Wow Inkshares don’t make it easy sometimes. I expected it to be part of the Syndicate admin tool but alas I was very much mistaken, kinda like that time I found a pretty Thai girl.... Anyhow the syndicates August selection has been made. Congrats Jay!
Not yet. I think books get selected on the 15th of each month but good shout about "A Beast Requires". The cover certainly caught my eye while looking at the entries for the latest G&S contest.
OK so on the face of it, looks like this syndicate will likely be backing "The Decaying Destiny of Rob the Zombie" by @Joshua Griffith in July, if the syndicate is permitted to select a book this month, seeings how it only came into existence a few days ago.
Alright, Mr. Poat. Your minutes from the last meeting are exceptional. I honestly did not realize we had covered so much.
Onward!
As complimentary as it is for you to demonstrate possible support of Dada as the first book to be backed by the syndicate (blushing quite a bit, thank you.), I think it might come across as a bit cheeky for any potential new members... I am 50% of the syndicate, and you already have a copy, so... maybe another one.
I really like Rob the Zombie, and it seems to be one of the only other books that is funding declaring itself to be humorous. It is quite funny, and I’ve been meaning to grab a copy. Perhaps our support would give the author a little lift and inspire him to delve deeper into marketing it. My vote is with Rob!
I enjoy the other books mentioned, but perhaps let’s see what happens when the smoke clears post-contest.
Who’s there? Look Michael, will you stop messing around with the front door and please take a seat, we have an important decision to make and I would like to get all of this sorted before Wheel of Fortune is on!
OK so first port of call, the minutes of the last meeting. Michael would you like to go over these?
...........
OK and thus concludes the minutes of the last meeting. OK so onto new business. If this syndicate does get the option of backing a book in July, which one should we choose. A few options would be:
"Mothering:The Game" which requires 133 pre-orders over the next 55 days to achieve quill.
"In Beta" which requires 574 pre-orders over the next 57 days in order to become fully published.
"SideScroller" which requires 160 pre-orders over the next 56 days to achieve quill.
I have decided not to list my own book however am more than happy to include your book Michael as it’s funny as hell and deserves to get published. I have also included a few Nerdist video-game contest entries on the proviso that they do not pull out of funding if they don’t finish in the top 3 of the competition. We may need to ask them about this before backing their books.
If you have any other books in mind that should be considered Michael, speak up!
So far, you and I have an entire month to discuss what book you’d like to support. We need to fill the time, Matt! Are you saying you don’t want a month’s worth of puns on your comment feed?!? WELL???
I don’t think this syndicate will be able to select a book to support for the month of July as it was created on the 4th however I am happy to accept suggestions for which funny books we should support in August.
You.
