Oliver Tooley liked an update for The Bones of the Past

Hello everyone!

So… I have a small request today. The nominations for the Dragon Awards are now open and my book is eligible! I know most of you haven’t had the chance to read past the teaser chapters on Inkshares but the book finally went to the printers last week so the wait is almost over!

Anyway, I would very much appreciate it if you could take a minute to throw a nomination in for the best fantasy novel! This type of thing can do wonders for the visibility of a new book.

There’s a tonne of categories but you don’t have to fill in any more than you feel like.

 Thank you all yet again!

65 days to publication! And just because - here is the updated cover now complete with blurbs :)

Oliver Tooley sent an update for Children of the Wise Oak

    Exciting news

So much has been happening in my publishing journey I could almost burst with the excitement. The fact is all the excitement is somewhere else than here on Inkshares.
Firstly, my own sequel will be published this summer. "Women of the Wise Oak" continues the story on from "Children of the Wise Oak" (published June 2016) via Blue Poppy Publishing

Secondly, and even more exciting, is the fact that we will now be publishing Joni Dee’s "And the Wolf Shall Dwell" through Blue Poppy.
This is because despite getting 749 pre-orders through Inkshares, they did not feel able to bring his work to the market for whatever reasons. I don’t want to criticise anybody so I won’t but let’s just say Inkshares loss is Blue Poppy’s gain on this occasion.
Inkshares have returned payments for pre-orders of Joni’s book so he has had to set up a new payment system to take pre-orders via his website.

Blue Poppy are also looking forward to the launch of "Black Lord of Eagles" the first in a two part fantasy series set in a world based on the Inca empire of central America. Mystery, religion and magic blend in with the tragic tale of the conquistadors in a breathtaking novel from Ben Blake an independent author who already has six novels in print.

      Hi all,

This is going to be my last update through Inkshares.

We have now setup secure checkout with PayPal to re-process your Orders, on my own website.
The book will be published this summer by Blue Poppy Publishing here in the UK. And if you can show faith by re-ordering I would be thrilled.
Btw - there is also a new option for a Hardcover!

Oliver Tooley liked an update for And the Wolf Shall Dwell

As some of you may know, Inkshares has gone through a major managerial change in the past months, which brought with it a sharp shift in policy, and well – let’s put it gently – more crude way of conducting business.

First of all sadly, and in spite of the tremendous efforts we’ve all put in, I am sorry to let you know that “And the Wolf Shall Dwell” will not publish with Inkshares due to creative differences. I will take this opportunity to thank you all once again for the huge support you have shown me in the past year and briefly explain why and what’s next.

One reason for this is that, as some of you may have noticed, Inkshares had decided to unilaterally cancel orders. In the past few months, they erased good people’s accounts and orders for no good reason, and now even refunded the book, in spite of other assurances that the funds will be transferred to my solicitor in order to self-publish. You can only imagine the disappointment for the people who had referred, promoted Inkshares and put cash into its system, to discover their efforts had been canceled at once with no further explanation.

Another reason is that throughout the last months, while I kept promoting Inkshares tirelessly, apparently nothing was done to edit and work on the manuscript. The new CEO plainly stated over a phone call that he will only agree to publish the book under Quill. Though Quill (the smaller spread/online only with no Inkshares’ marketing and distribution efforts contract) may work for some authors, I feel it would not have done “And the Wolf Shall Dwell” justice, certainly not after the efforts we went through to reach 750 orders

Having not heard from Inkshares for a while, save postponements and other excuses, I have decided to let my solicitor handle the case. I have learned in life that when people have no real grounds to do what they do they start biting and shooting all over.  I wanted to share with you the grotesque correspondence that Adam Gomolin, Inkshares’ CEO, had sent, but I will spare you this for your own good. While I may be seeking reparations for all of the above, that was not the reason I started this campaign.

The book has seen interest from various literary agents and publishers, and I will be going with a local English one. However for this to happen, while it appears that Inkshares (again in spite of the other written promises) refunded the books unilaterally - I would need your pledge again for the orders you have already made. I have kept all your details so I can send you a link to pre-order the book again (it’s currently in editing). I will not chase and nag again, but it would mean the world for me if you can re-order.

Not all lost, I’ve gained a strong readers’ base during the last months, new friendships and learned a lot.  There’s a saying in Hebrew “Kol Akava Le-Tova” which means that every delay along the way is for the best – Every cloud has a silver lining if you wish. And I will update very soon.

I have the addresses and emails of everyone who had ordered the book, but if anyone had any change of details please send me an email to ydital@gmail.com, so I can update the book’s future distributor. This is the place to thank my solicitor Simon Walton for his work in the past month, to my family for the ongoing support and to all of you backers for your everlasting patience. Thank you!

        Yours,

        Jonathan Dital

-Future updates would be sent directly to your email accounts and not through Inkshares, I would be delighted if you can affirm this by registering to my mailing list at http://www.jondbooks.com and subscribe on the lower left hand side.

          Hi all,

I’ve meant to send an update later this weekend, but I’ve been getting many messages from people that their orders are being refunded.

It is true that "And the Wolf Shall Dwell" will not be published under Inkshares and that the book has found a different way to publish, from England. However, it was my understanding that Inkshares would send my solicitor the accumulated funds in order to meet all your orders.
At the moment it seems like the orders are getting refunded instead. My solicitor is trying to get in touch with Adam, Inkshares’ CEO to understand more.

I will update in due course, at the moment I am at the dark just like you are. Thanks.

            Greetings Jackolytes,

The ebook has landed! You should’ve already received an email telling you how to download it. Simply follow the links and Jack and his ride will be all yours. And with Valentine’s Day just around the corner, what could better express your feelings to your significant other than a story of mayhem and madness? It would be great if you can share this tender story of man and machine with those who are leading a Jackless existence!

Finally, and MOST importantly, a huge thanks to all of you that pre-ordered Jack’s story and supported me through out! I really (and this is true) couldn’t have done it without all your help!

Cheers and see you in the review pages!

                Hello Friends!

Long, long time ago (well, 2004) there was a fantastic game called City of Heroes.  This video game was my introduction to massively multiplayer online role-playing games (I know, a mouthful) and I became obsessed with it.

City of Heroes was straight forward. You had to create a superhero, fight villains and win experience so you could earn new powers. The game was not only fun, but it was also a place to meet people and make new friends. Even though I don’t know their real names and I never saw their human faces, I forged real friendships with caped crusaders, flying cyborgs, and ruthless amazons.

I devoted many hours to saving Paragon City from evil forces. Later on, when City of Villains was released, I spent many hours fighting the annoying goody-two-shoes heroes. Some guys anxiously wait for Sundays to watch football. For me, Sundays were the day for long missions and task forces.

Unfortunately, on November 30, 2012, the Gods of Paragon Studios decided to shut down the game. It was devastating. We wrote letters, started petitions and even protested on the virtual streets of Paragon. In the end, darkness fell, and City of Heroes was gone.

Inspired by my love for this game I wrote the short story Paragon Falling. Paragon Falling tells the story of Trauco, and JaneTheWarrior, two villains from Aion City, who must run a race against the clock to save their dying world. In the process, they discover that the deities ruling the video games universe can be wicked and capricious.

The short story is now available on Kindle and Kindle Unlimited, and I would love for you to read it and review it. You don’t need to know anything about this game or any other video game to connect with this story. The main theme is something we can all relate to: survival.

Please, follow the link and enter the world of City of heroes.

Welcome to Paragon, my friends. I hope you enjoy it.
