I’ll definitely second this. Especially considering that some of the genres we have available are actually subgenres. Tantalus Depths is listed under Hard Sci-Fi, for example, but I don’t think it would currently show up if you were just searching under "sci-fi." The same would go for the Space Opera subgenre, or for the Fairy Tale subgenre of the Fantasy genre.
Not to mention that fantasy, sci-fi, realistic fiction, historical fiction, biography, etc. could all, depending on the nature of the story, also fit under the genre of humor, adventure, thriller, etc.
Almost every book on this site could potentially be considered two or more different genres.

      Jane-Holly Meissner liked an update for Mission 51

      Earlier this year, despite some solid success, I let the Inkshares funding campaign for Mission 51 end without asking for an extension for two reasons: I wanted to focus on the writing and not on the campaigning, and I wanted to submit Mission 51 to Hollywood’s Launch Pad Competition 2016. I have to admit I was a bit disappointed it didn’t make it to the finalist group, but today I received some very strong encouragement!

      I received the formal Feedback Notes from Launch Pad, essentially an opinion about my submitted sample from an industry judge. Let me give you a few excerpts from the report:

      "This is a knockout premise, and those are very rare."

      "The fact that Mat’s story... is an immigrant story, takes this premise from being a great high concept to being a great high concept with real emotional subtext, and one that has resonance with our modern world today."

      "The pages here consistently communicate the story clearly, with great momentum, and a very palpable sense of empathy for ALL the characters... This is a great read, and a very capable execution of a highly evocative premise. This project has tremendous potential."

      "The quality of the writing here, not just on the conceptual level, but also in terms of the story in these pages and the writing of that story, is uniformly strong. The dialogue’s good too, voice specific and smart in its use of subtext."

      "This project feels like it has strong potential for either a TV or feature adaptation, and stands on its own as a great read as a manuscript."

      Well isn’t that just awesome!!! I am greatly encouraged that I am on the right track!

      Looking forward to the next suitable Inkshares contest so I can jump in and try again. I really want you to read the story!

      Peace, and Happy Thanksgiving!

        Adam,

        I’m confused. I don’t see anyone being disrespectful in this thread, just asking questions and wanting to understand what is happening, in a situation where there has been little to no communication about what is going on. I am sure you can see that it is concerning to have charges coming and going from your card without any detail, particularly having just had an email about getting a refund days earlier.

        I can understand that you are a small team, working within tight constraints, but you must also appreciate that as a customer I expect a degree of respect from any business that I’m interacting with. Part of that includes providing clear, honest updates when things don’t go to plan. Just a simple email to say "oops - we refunded this by mistake" would have been fine.

        @Rick Heinz  I hope nothing that I’ve said comes across as an attack on any author because that certainly isn’t my intention. My concern and feedback are more about the broader issue of having a lack of clarity around and communication about what is going on.

        @Elena Stofle Thank you :)

            I’m sorry,  @Sara Polk. I know how hard it is to ask for orders in the first place. It’s got to be terrible to ask again when refunds haven’t happened.
