Hello, friends and supporters! I figure an update is due, but I don’t have a lot to say, so I’ll keep it short this time. To sum it up, things are going pretty well! we have about a month left in the campaign for Proteus, and we are now past the 400 pre-order mark. Significantly past it, actually: 425 orders exactly as of right now. Of course, that means we still have to get 325 over the next 30 days, so your continued support is still absolutely crucial. If you haven’t ordered a copy yet, now is the time. Talk to a sibling, parent, spouse, rich eccentric enemy who likes to buy things for you out of spite. Whatever you can do. Remember, if everyone who ordered a copy were to buy just one more, or get one other person to buy one, we’d surpass our goal. Let’s see if we can hit that goal with some time to spare!

In the meantime, I’ll leave you guys with another lore update.

Cybernetic augmentation is at the core of this sci-fi thriller: after all, the titular Proteus is a sentient AI implanted in a man’s brain: a man who, to borrow a phrase, "is more machine now than man." Many characters in Proteus are cyborgs, in one form or another. What is it about the culture of the Expansionary Coalition that leads it to so boldly modify the flesh of its own people? Let me get to the point: There’s a sequel to A God in the Shed being published an it’s titled Song of the Sandman.

“Oh great another campaign.”

Nope.

We’re just going to go ahead and publish Song of the Sandman. There’s still a pre-order page however and I’d love for you to pre-order your copy today.

Well, obviously it helps the publisher with the initial publishing costs, but more importantly, it allows me to offer some exclusive perks to my readers.

Pre-Orders get you:

For digital pre-orders you get the book early. I’ve seen readers get their e-copies up to two weeks ahead of the official release date.
For physical copies, you get a signed book in the mail
Physical copies also come with the e-book through the Inkshares website
If you pre-order 3 physical copies or more, your name will appear in the book’s acknowledgements. NOTE: This one is subject to extremely tight timing as the book is already in the middle stages of production. You want you name in this book? Don’t delay.
I’m going to be putting together a few art pieces and getting prints to slip into the signed copies.

Just a friendly reminder that it’s very important that you check and confirm your shipping address prior to books being shipped out. You all should have received an email from Inkshares in the last day or so prompting you to confirm your address. You can follow the instructions there, or follow the ones below. Either way it’s very important to do so, as I know several of you have moved, because if the address isn’t right in the system (if you’ve moved for example) YOU WON’T GET YOUR BOOK!

I know what you’re thinking: Another update so soon? Well, this one has been a long time coming. Even the animals are talking about it...

That’s right! The team at Inkshares has informed me that production has really started ramping up for The Animal in Man I: Violent Heart, and the book will be hitting bookstore shelves on September 25th of this year! Granted I’ll need to keep my s**t together well enough to meet all the deadlines on my end, but I owe YOU - my supporters, my greatest strength through all this, the thing that’s kept me going - and I’ll get it done.

THE MOST IMPORTANT UPDATE....IN THE WORLD.

Want some news? Here’s some news...

To the best of my knowledge, very shortly (if not right now) Ghosts of War: Retribution will be off to the printers.

That right, it’s D-O-N-E, done.

Edits have been done, copy edits have been done, covers have been done and finalised, the interior has been designed and finalised. Done.

So what now? Well, there is one thing that is rather important:

Shipping Addresses!

Since Ghosts had its backing period so long ago, undoubtedly some of you have changed address in the meantime. If you want to receive your physical copy of Ghosts of War: Retribution, it’s very important to update your address on the Inkshares site (or just confirm it to be super safe). Just follow this simple guide to fix everything up:

With that squared away, you should safely receive your print copy (provided you bought one) some time before the general release date of the 17th of July. If things stick to the current schedule, I believe that backer print copies (and ebooks) are set to go out around the 15th of June.

And now onto some pretty things.

Amanda Orneck sent an update for Sister of the Circuit

Oh hi, how you doing? Feeling good? Having a good spring? Do you even have spring where you live?

Here in Alabama the flowers are in bloom, the trees are green again, and the pollen plague is in full effect. I’ve been nose down in writing projects, but none of them have been the Circuit sequel because alas they’re for my day job. But hey, we got our first game launched, so that feels good.

This week I negotiated terms for the Sister of the Circuit audiobook. I’m happy to announce that the amazing Jill Crenshaw will be narrating for Isidore, Dax, and CRI-LUX. I could NOT be more excited. I can’t wait to hear this story with her incredible acting ability. All is lined up to have the audiobook launched the same time as the other formats, so July is going to be a BIG month.

Have I mentioned the launch team to ya’ll? I’m pre-building the book launch team now, you know, reviews and such, but I am giving away mugs, bookmarks, shirts, and a huge prize at the end for one lucky member. Want to be part of this? Head on over and sign up!
