James Rasile liked an update for Are You Sure You Want to Quit?

Greetings followers!!

First off, I just want to say WOW you guys are awesome!! I received a spike in pre-orders yesterday and I can’t thank you all enough for your support. Currently, I am in 3rd place but these last 8 days are going to be crucial for me to stay in the Top 3. If you haven’t pre-ordered yet, hit that pre-order button, you won’t regret it!

Also, I just realized that I hit 150 pre-orders (that’s 100 pre-orders away from reaching Quill!). I was literally in tears, sitting in lab, when I saw that number because to me, it means that there are people out there who support my project and want my story published. With all of the negativity out there in light of two police killings of black people, I hold on to these moments of happiness.

I’ll leave you all with another piece to the painting puzzle. Have a good night!

Well, I got one last extension, this is now the final 30 days of my campaign. If I don’t make it to Quill, I will gracefully bow out...but, I still believe we can make it! I will be doing a lot of local promotion here in my hometown. I still got a bunch of postcards and business cards to give out and I’m hitting up local sci-fi/fantasy clubs.

This entire thing has been a big learning experience for me and no matter what happens, I’m going to take everything I’ve learned into the future, whether I decide to crowdfund another novel or not. I’m leaning toward the former since I do have a draft up on Inkshares that I’d like to pursue at some point. I now know what has worked, what has kind of worked and what hasn’t worked at all. I think it’s a different journey for everyone and maybe when this thing is done I can share my experiences with the community, whether I’m successful or not.

But, again, I think we CAN be successful and I’m pulling out all the stops to see that happen! Regardless of the outcome, I’m sure someone can benefit from sharing my experiences with both the Nerdist contest and the subsequent campaign and I plan on putting that all down in writing when the time comes.

Thank you to everyone who has supported me thus far, it means the world to me. To those who haven’t pre-ordered yet, now’s your chance! Help me make Quill! You’re doing more than getting a great retro science fiction novel, you’re also helping someone’s dream come true.

    Thank you!

James Rasile liked an update for Destiny Imperfect

      Greetings Destiny-followers,

Do not go gentle into that good night! What an awesome level of support you’re all giving and what an awesome response my fellow contestants are giving. Bottom lining it, I’m locked in 4th (you guys rock!). I’m 6 behind 3rd position and 8 behind 2nd position (there’s a ‘full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes’ quote in there somewhere, but I’ll leave it for the moment). In the last couple of days you have given Destiny Imperfect an incredible boost. But there are 8 days left in the contest and still a world of work to do.

It’d be great if you could hit the pre-order button below if you are following Destiny Imperfect. And it’d be great if you could share Destiny Imperfect with those closest to you. If we work together, we can give this contest a real shake!

Thanks for reading and have a great day!

      Cheers,

      Peter

James Rasile liked an update for A Bedlamite in Shadow

        Hey Everyone,

July 11 was to be the final day of the campaign. However, after some discussion with a few good folks, I have decided to extend it to the end of September. We are 58 percent funded, and these extra three months should be enough time to generate at least another 105 pre-orders.

Secondly, A Bedlamite in Shadow has been chosen for support by Joni Dee’s Thriller Night Syndicate . They are a great group of successful Inkshares authors and I am grateful for their encouragement and support. Check them out here:

        https://www.inkshares.com/syndicates/thriller-night

Also, the book has been selected as the first book for support by the new White Knight Syndicate.

        https://www.inkshares.com/syndicates/white-knight-syndicate

If you are still on the fence and have yet to order, please consider hitting that pre-order button. And if you have ordered, consider buying a second copy for a friend or family member. We’re almost there. Every order at this point is crucial.

Finally, I’d like to mention a few projects that I am supporting. Check them out.

Seven Days Dead: The beginning of a zombie outbreak in the Middle East. Characters of different cultures and faiths try to reach safety.

Borehole Bazaar: A Vow Unbroken: A slight twist on the traditional hero, the protagonist fails to escape capture and emotionally breaks before finding inner strength.

Mothering: The Game: What happens when a long time gamer becomes a first time mom? Motherhood becomes the most engaging game she’s played.

Thanks for taking this journey with me. Almost there.

        Rob

James Rasile liked an update for Tantalus Depths

          Time for some more incentivization.
Tantalus Depths is doing quite well right now, thanks to a continuous stream of support from some of the most incredible people in the world. We’re still nowhere near the end of our journey, though, and another big push of support would serve to bring that goal just a little bit closer to our grasp. So I’m incentivizing you guys again.

If Tantalus Depths reaches 500 pre-orders by July 16th, I will upload Chapter 1 in its entirety to Inkshares. Additionally, I will dedicate that week’s vlog to a special author’s reading of said chapter.
Want more Tantalus Depths? Refer some friends, fuel the hype machine, help us reach that target number, and you’ll get just that. Want less Tantalus Depths? Well...I’m not going to shut up about it until I’m funded, so you have even more incentive to help out.
          Come, friends. The Depths await.

James Rasile liked an update for In Beta

Today, I hit the motherload of endorsements.

"Prescott is one brilliant dude, and I cannot wait to see what he cooks up, in any medium!"

            - JJ Abrams

Yes, that actually showed up in my inbox earlier this afternoon. I am incredibly flattered and more than a little shocked. What a vote of confidence!

There are just days left in the contest, and the pressure is building. Please share this exciting news with social networks, and help me make IN BETA a thing!

James Rasile liked an update for Seeking the Elephant

So, what do you do when you have 19 days to get 154 pre-orders?

If you’re me, you don’t give up, or get down! Over this 4th of July weekend, I found myself laid out sick with a nasty summer chest cold, and decided to do something productive with my time! So, I began a complete cover-to-cover re-write of Seeking the Elephant.

Working with a friend on edits & voice over work last week I realized I was tired of apologizing when it came to Seeking the Elephant’s weaknesses. It’s a GOOD book, but I know it could be better, I know because everything I wrote in the years since WAS better. So, if I want to make this dream a reality, why accept anything but the best?

Over the next 19 days, I will be releasing 1 of the new re-written chapters per day until 19 chapters are ONLINE. This will comprise the majority of the first act. With lucky, this AVALANCHE OF AWESOME will convince you to place your pre-order.

Rember, all pre-orders receive a copy of the short story Alviso as a thank-you gift an e-book level ($10.) all pre-orders receive a copy of the short story The Dread Harvester as a thank-you gift a paperback level ($20.)

With your help, we can make Seeking the Elephant a reality in the next 19 days!

It’s Wednesday! That means it’s time for me to take a minute and shine the spotlight on a fellow Inkshares author. This time, I want to give a little shout out to Mothering: The Game by Regina McMenomy, Ph.D.

I think Regina’s doing something really special here. Presenting the experience of first-time motherhood from the point of view of a gamer is something I’ve never seen before in writing, yet I know so many people who could relate so well to it. It’s really refreshing to see girl gamers get the proper recognition they deserve for their innate awesomeness, and mom gamers are even cooler. Dr. McMenomy is the kind of mom I think we’d all like to have.
I’m a single, childless male, yet I’m eagerly looking forward to getting my hands on my copy of this book. I can’t wait to see this memoir unfold, from loading screen to end credits.
Please consider placing a pre-order for Mothering: The Game. The Nerdist Video Game Contest has only 9 days to go, and she’s currently holding steady at 6th place. I think it deserves to level up.
