Thomas J. Arnold liked an update for Monkey Business

Hello Ladies & Gents,

I know I don’t update like I should. It’s a character flaw I’m working on. I spend all my royalty money on therapy. I’ll get better

Here’s the news today! I just got final interior layout files from the absolutely awesomest people ever at Girl Friday Productions and the book looks great. Sexy even. Now all I have to do is send my final cover art over to Inkshares and this sh*t is on like Donkey Kong.

That will be happening today. As soon as I finish writing this update actually. So to celebrate I want to share something I found a couple days ago that I had forgotten existed. This is a sketch I drew almost 15 years ago while the idea for this book was floating around in my head.

I know it might not make a lot of sense since you guys haven’t read the book yet but I thought you might enjoy a little bit of what went on in my brain while I was thinking about this story.

Thank you all so much for following, for preordering, for supporting this book that I really hope brings you some joy this summer.

Thank you!   - Landon

Thomas J. Arnold liked an update for The Traveller’s Cup

    Happy Travellin’ Tuesday, Space Crew,

Coming off our Quill celebration high, it’s time to get back in business.

Today I Published a Blog Piece on The Traveller’s Cup and Social Justice.
The gist of it is that while "star dragons" and "celestial wizards" sound cool and might sell books, there’s more meat to this story. Take a look if you’re interested in finding out more about the history of the Lumen and Grey right here.

And of course, also in the name of being better humans, 25% of the proceeds from the book are currently going to BuildOn. I’d like to up that to 50%, so let’s figure out how to get 496 more copies sold.

I could give you a doodle of the day, but I could also give you some more polished art related to the book. Don’t worry, the comic is in progress and looks much cooler than this, but who doesn’t like a little SD art to brighten their mood?

It’s currently living here on DeviantArt.

Also I am very much interested in any fan art you guys might come up with. Please send it to me either here on Inkshares, via Twitter at @ac_baldwin, or on my Facebook page and I’ll gladly repost it.

    Your Running-Out-of-Adjectives Space Captain,

Thomas J. Arnold liked an update for The Amaranth Chronicles: Deviant Rising

Okay guys, here’s the deal; I’ve got 11 days to move 72 copies. Not impossible but If I can move 10-15 in the next 24 hours I’ll be in a good position to negotiate an extension. This is what I need; any of you who have been waiting to pre-order, or know someone who would like to, its now your time to shine! If everyone within "earshot" of this shared and retweeted this post it should get us to where we need to be. Thank you all for your support so far. We’re almost there you guys! We’re counting on you.

        QUILL ACHIEVED, SPACE CREW.

We hit 250 last night, which means this book is going to be published. Let’s take a moment to breathe. This was made possible by all of you (our relentless Crew), with the last Quill order going to our honourary Quill Captain, Micah Baker.

If you want to pick up his intriguing book, which is a sinister sort of space opera, you can do that here.

        So What Happens Now?

        First, the good.

        • Once the campaign ends I’ll be working with the crew at Inkshares to talk deadlines and a publishing schedule. This is happening!

        • I can now officially pledge funds to BuildOn, the literacy charity I’ve partnered with. They’ll be getting 25% of my profits.

        • Your prizes are guaranteed. All the prizes that don’t rely on numbers of pre-orders will be happening.

        And the reality:

        •  This is where we are right now. Yes, The Traveller’s Cup is getting published, but it’s not fully funded

        • Fully-funded means that Inkshares will take care of a lot of the publishing "dirty work". Editing, marketing, distribution, etc.
        • Since they’ll take on those services it frees me up to give more time to producing a solid book, and leaves me with more funds to give to prizes, and to increase my BuildOn donation from 25% to 50.

So while we hit a major milestone, you can’t expect the ship to stop here.

If you’re a member of this Crew, I need you to make it your personal responsibility to help me boost this to 750. Tell a friend. Order a copy for your mom. You can make a huge difference.

        Your Cautiously Celebratory Space Captain,
        -AC

Thomas J. Arnold sent an update for Exile, Magus

Just a quick one.  Work continues on the polishing of Exile, Magus as well as the continue development/growth of material beyond the book.  There is some news looming on the horizon, but nothing to announce yet though I will be giving a bit more detailed rundown in the next newsletter which will be sent out 5/1.

There are other things beyond Exile, Magus I want to talk about though.  While my focus tends to be sci-fi/fantasy I do also enjoy more mainstream fiction as well, which unfortunately isn’t currently represented as heavily on Inkshares.  This made me quite happy to hear that For the Love of Fiction Syndicate has been founded with a focus on more mainstream fiction.  More specifically they describe themselves as focusing on fiction, realistic fiction, chick lit, young adult, romance, memoir, and narrative non-fiction.  Hopefully this interests some of you, and you’ll join them in trying to grow the presence of these genres on Inkshares.

Finally, I want to talk about "Scribbles: A Collection of Words" by Tabi Card.  Its down to the final 6 days of its funding period and in need of your help to meet the Quill goal.  The samples posted make it clear that this will be a wonderful collection of short stories which I want in my hands, so I’m hoping you’ll all order copies now so we can make this happen.  She’s also running giveaways for art prints as detailed on the book’s page, and a promotion giving away a signed copy of her story "Five Minutes" to everyone who orders.  She can tell you about it better than I can in the video on her book page which you can also check out here.

That’s all I’ve got for this week, so as always I wish you all a good day(s).  Keep reading and enjoying!
