Greetings Hexers and Machina Riders:
Do we have some things to talk about! So much has happened in the last week my head is spinning. Let’s get right to it:
Extra Life Stream this Evening
I’ll be streaming Heroes of the Storm tonight for the Extra Life charity over on my Twitch channel, starting at 6 PM CST and running until midnight. Come cheer me on as I main Sylvanas and try to figure out if I can still snipe towers behind enemy gates. It should be fun times.
Donate to my Extra Life fund
If you watch (and even if you can’t) help me get to $100 by donating here. I have already raised $40 for kids in need, so I’m 1/3 of the way there. Woncha help out?
The List 2016 contest
This week Inkshares announced which books were selected for their end-of--the-year contest, and Deus Hex Machina is on The List! It’s a crazy big honor to be among such amazing books and their authors which leads me to my next item on the agenda:
A ton more Deus Hex Machina stuff is coming
A new contest means a new campaign, so I’ve been working in the last few days to shape what a second campaign for DHM would look like. Astute readers among you will already notice I’ve updated the book’s Inshares page, refereshed my cover concept, and put up a couple new character bios. In addition I have uploaded the revised first chapter from the 2nd draft -- I think you’ll be happy with the changes.
My edit is plugging right along, and won’t stop just because another contest has popped into my life. You don’t stop feeding your kids just because extended family dropped by unannounced. You pull up extra chairs and make more desserts.
And I plan on more desserts friends. I will try to keep the updates meaningful throughout this contest, but I do have a good amount of fun stuff planned, and I want to share it all with you.
My goal for this campaign will be to get to 400 readers. It’s a huge crazy unimaginable number, but I think we can do it. If you’re following the book but haven’t purchased, I’ll be reaching out to you personally in the coming weeks to ask for your order. If you have purchased the book, I’ll be reaching out to you personally to ask for your referral.
In exchange for your support of the book I have planned more goodies: live-edits, fan art contests, a contest for the ARG -- yes Qathren YOBIBYTE got the jump on you Sombra. You got nothin’ on a hexer from the future.
It’s gonna be a fun, weird ride, and I hope you’ll join me. I’ll see you tonight.
May the code replicate eternal.
[Addendum] Also, if you ask for a free review copy of Blurred Weaponry, I don’t EXPECT a review - I just hope that if you’re kind enough to read it, that it inspires you in some way to reveal how terrible / good / at least not boring it was.
Final Update
I would have done this sooner, but actually finishing the book and then immediately hitting "peak" overtime means I’m not doing much other than working.
To start, I did an audio review for Shawn Furniss’ Inkshares draft The Agoge as the first part of a two-review video, which is the first episode of something I’ll be doing which will ALWAYS include a review I did for this community. Here it be:

Friends
The Catcher’s Trap is out in the world and, hopefully, already in your hands. As you can imagine, releasing the book on Election Day, and on a week like we just had in America has been quite interesting.
Still, two days after the election, over one hundred of you came out and supported the release of my book. This past Thursday, the North Haven Barnes and Nobles was flooded with people attending my first ever book signing. It was beautiful and humbling. Fun fact, the mayor of Hamden gave me a proclamation on behalf of the town. I had no idea that was happening and it was a wonderful surprised.
If you missed me on Thursday, you can come and see me at the Hamden Public Library on Sunday, November 20th, at 2 pm. I will be speaking there as part of their guest authors series.
The next step in this thrilling journey is to get reviews. I need to get as many reviews for the Catcher’s Trap as possible in the next coming weeks. So please, once you are ready, go into the links below and leave an honest review. It doesn’t have to be long, just your thoughts about the book. Trust me your review will make a huge difference.
Have a fantastic rest of your weekend.
Best

Friends, Readers, and Sorcerers All,
Big news today. SORCERY FOR BEGINNERS has been chosen as the November selection for Gary Whitta’s Nomad Syndicate. Yes, THAT Gary Whitta! Writer of The Book of Eli, After Earth, and this little unseen, indie gem:
I won’t lie, my heart is beating like a scruffy-lookin’ Nerf herder right now. It’s been a pretty awesome six weeks since we started this campaign, and we’re not done yet. You can still pre-order SORCERY FOR BEGINNERS, get a signed copy, and an extra-special "early adopter" prize which we’ll be unveiling soon. But you have to purchase before January 1. Tell your friends, tweet it from the mountain tops, and pick up a copy if you haven’t already! Darth Vader will thank you.
May the Force be with you all --

Hello Readers,
Wanted to drop you a quick line as to the production progress of I Am Waltz. The manuscript will be in the hands of the copy editors within the next few weeks (depending on when they finish their current work).
I have been working furiously on the developmental edit since the funding was successful and am nearly complete.
Once the manuscript begins copy-editing we will be well on our way to getting those books in your hands or on your devices.
Again thank you all for your support. As promised, once the book is out, all those who have pre-ordered will have early access to drafts of book two and three.
In gratitude,
Matthew D. Dho
