Dave Barrett sent an update for It’s All Fun and Games

Happy New Year Everyone!  I hope that 2019 is off to exactly the start you were hoping for.

I recently discovered a review that was posted back in December. That was quite the nice new year discovery!

I wanted to let you all know that paperbacks of More Fun and Games are now available! You can get them the following ways:

Your own friendly local bookstore can order them through Ingram. It’s ISBN 9780578214610
or
You can order them through Amazon
or
If you would like a signed/inscribed copy, you can order them through my own friendly local bookstore, The Briar Patch.  If you had previously ordered the ebook on release day, you can use the code EBOOKFUN to save 99 cents on the purchase. You can put in inscription requests in the comment section at checkout.

I’m also determined to write more this year, which at least so far has exhibited itself in the form of working on my webpage, authordavebarrett.com. In particular, I’m going to be writing mini-blurbs/reviews of books as I read them this year. I’ve got two posted already, though I’m certainly not going to maintain a two-book-a-week pace. I’m also going to try to keep up with my blog.

As always, you can follow me on twitter or check out my facebook page.

And not but least, if you’ve already read More Fun and Games and haven’t left a review at your favorite etailers and Goodreads, please do so! A review is like giving an author a hug!

Thank you all for your continued support.

Dave

Hi Michael!  Egad!  I don’t think I ever sent out the update on Inkshares about it!  Yes, you can order it at this link.  When you get to the checkout process you can enter any inscription request in the comment.

Dave Barrett liked an update for The Astronaut Instruction Manual

It’s official: The Astronaut Instruction Manual is Amazon Best Seller

As of today, The Astronaut Instruction Manual is an Amazon Best Seller. That’s Top-100 Children’s Books: Science: Astronomy & Space for all age groups. This is the big list. Here’s a screen shot:

Amazon Best Seller! Gosh! So today if you are receiving this message from me it’s because you have been with me all the way here. If you have enjoyed the ride and The Astronaut Instruction Manual, there is one thing and one thing only I am asking of you to keep the momentum going.

If you enjoyed it all, write and post a book review on Amazon for The Astronaut Instruction Manual.

Writing and posting a simple review is how you and I will get The Astronaut Instruction Manual into more hands of more kids who are readers. And that’s all I really want, for kids who love reading (and love Space) to read the book I wrote for them because I was them. Here’s the link.

Four years ago (!) we started this journey together. Today, we have an Amazon Best Seller. In my opinion the best is yet to come. And if you can write an Amazon review it will guarantee it.

Thank you, my friends, family, and supporters…

Oh my Google! What a day!
      Mike

(IF you already saw this, I apologize for sending it to you twice)

        TOMORROW IS THE DAY!!!

Tomorrow More Fun and Games goes live on Amazon and other places for e-books! For one day only it will be on sale for 99 cents before going up to its regular price of $4.99. If you’re planning on getting the digital copy, tomorrow is the day to do so!

Note that if you click over now you’ll be seeing the 4.99 price - the 99 cents will show up tomorrow!

"But Dave, what if I like the feel of paper between my fingers?"

Paperback is coming soon! I have to admit that the writing was far easier than the preparing files for the printer, and it took me FOREVER to get the cover files squared away. In fact, I’m not entirely convinced that I did, and I’m waiting for Amazon to send me a proof copy so I can make sure that what you order isn’t garbage. It’s scheduled to arrive tomorrow, and if it all looks good then it will be ready to order almost immediately. Stay tuned for more info. Unfortunately, I had to raise the cover price to $10.99. On demand printing is more than three times as expensive as my first print run of 8k copies.

Alternatively, if you have a local bookstore that you like to support, you can do that too!  See below!

"But Dave, what if I like the feel of autographed paper between my fingers?"

Well, if you live nearby, I’m always happy to sign. Procure it at your favorite outlet and hand it to me.  Easy Peasy. If you don’t live nearby, I’ve got a solution! My local independent bookstore will have it available for ordering as soon as I give/get the OK to/from Ingram for wholesale distribution. Again, I want to make sure that the actual product is good before I release it to the wild, so I’m not rushing. At that point the books can be ordered as part of their regular wholesale order. I’ll stop by the shop, sign em, and they’ll get shipped out to you!  If you order the ebook through Amazon on release day, you’ll be able to get a 99 cent discount on the book, making the ebook free!

Note, for those of you who want to support your local bookstore, let them know they can order them direct from Ingram (ISBN 978-0-578-21461-0).  Again, that’s pending acceptance of the final files, so stay tuned.

        Now one last thing....

If you’re planning on getting the paperback, please consider the extra 99 cents for the ebook on release day. Please also share the release with anyone you know who might be interested.

Early sales volume is important to the Amazon algorithms, and there are little badges you get for best seller and best selling new releases. I’d love to be able to snag one or both. This is why day one is discounted - to get as many people as possible to all order at once.

Just in case you missed the link....HERE IT IS

Thank you so much for all your support over the years. I think you’re going to like this one :)

Dave Barrett sent an update for More Fun and Games

Happy December everyone!  Long time no chat!

Well during that long time, I sure have been busy! So busy that More Fun and Games, the sequel to the novel you preordered back in 2016 is just about ready!  How just about? Like within 2 weeks just about!

            And here’s the cover!

More Fun and Games is clocking in at about 62,000 words, or about 20% longer than It’s All Fun and Games, and is chock full of adventure, intrigue and humor! Allison and the gang, having come to terms with their new world, continue eastward toward the Arcanum and their quest to defeat Magnus, the Arcanum’s wizard king.

But like any good adventure, things don’t exactly work out the way they expect. They make some new friends, make some new enemies, and discover that the longer they spend within the game the more they become their game characters. Early readers have gushed over it, so I know that you’ll like it too!

             I’m so excited!

Current plans are for the ebook will retail for 4.99, and the paperback 9.99 (I hope…stay tuned...).

So, how do you go about getting the next installment? As you may remember, the Inkshares crowdfunding program didn’t work out, so I’m self-publishing it. It will be available on all ebook platforms, at your favorite online retailer, but also available at your friendly local bookstore - ask them to include it on their next order from Ingram! Support those independent bookstores if you can!

Even better, through a partnership with my own friendly neighborhood bookstore, The Briar Patch, if you live somewhere far away and would like to get an autographed copy, we’ll ship em to you! And of course, if you’re local, I’ll hopefully have a release party scheduled soonish. Check out my Facebook page if you want to stay in the know.

Now, I’ve got a secret to share with you

             Oh yes I do

On release day (TBD, 2nd week of December at some point), the ebook will be available on amazon for only 99 cents. That’s right!  Only 99 cents! Early purchases and early reviews make a huge impact, so if you were planning on buying the ebook, there’s a 4 dollar savings for you by getting it on release day.

If you were planning on buying the physical book, please consider spending the extra 99 cents on release day. If you do, I’ll knock a dollar off your physical book purchase at the Briar Patch (either online orders or local shoppers). There’s a little tag you get for #1 new releases and #1 best sellers in your book categories, and I’d love to get one or both!

To all of you who have poked and prodded and pestered me to release book two, thank you so much for your encouragement, faith, and patience. I just wrapped up Endgame during National Novel Writing Month, and I think you’re going to like that one too. Hopefully it won’t be another 2 years!

            Thanks!
            Dave

PS - you may get this message more than once, since I’ll be sending it out to a couple mailing lists, and there’s some overlap. I apologize for the spam.
