You’re Full of Pickles!

Pablo devours his favorite treat:

Pickles! delicious, crunchy and sweet.

When Pablo chows down on his favorite food

He gets into a most mischievous mood.

He goes to his father, working hard in his den.

Scribbling down numbers with his paper and pen

Though his father looks stressed with so much to do,

Pablo says, “I have a question or two…”

“Why is three after two, and two after one?

And just who decides in what order they come?

Did they run a great race? Did they stand in a line?

Or did someone just make them up at the same time?”

“And just why are dog years as short as they are?

When a dog turns three, can he drive a car?

Can a panda bear vote? How old must he be?

Can our kitten one day get a college degree?”

“You’re full of pickles”, his father would say,

“I’ve got work to do, mijo. Go outside and play”.
