Many years ago, linguists translated a never before seen prehistoric book. Little did they know, reading just a few lines of it aloud would unlock a door, opening the world up and allowing magic to flow through anyone willing to use it. Within a decade, it had decimated most of the world. Those with power will do anything to get more.
A small city made the decision to abstain - to ward themselves and their city from anyone with active magic in their blood - allowing them to live normal lives away from the craziness that has overtaken the rest of the world.
But not everyone in the city could sit back and watch their world burn. A small elite team have made it their mission to hunt down artifacts, items imbued with extreme amounts of power, and destroy them before they fall into the wrong hands.
Unfortunately for them, the most dangerous artifact they have ever found happens to be a small child, and too many people would do anything to retrieve something that powerful.
Amber was raised in a small town Tennessee. She’s been a book lover since kindergarten, and an aspiring author since her undergraduate years at NYU, but she’s just now finally making her way into the writing world. Now, Amber attends graduate school at UCSD in San Diego and, when she’s not TAing, doing coursework, or working on research, she’s fostering the universes waiting to move from her mind to the paper.
Thank you for checking out my draft! As mentioned in the comments, this story is loosely inspired by Warehouse 13, but with my own magic twist. Let me know what you think!!
