Mateo, a homeschooled outcast with a knack for gaming and seemingly impossible restoration abilities gets more than he bargained for after uncovering a discontinued and run down 1998 console called the Säiol. A console that did so poorly only 1 game was known to be made for it and only 5 were produced. Mateo takes it upon himself to restore this creation after finding the only technician he could locate who had heard of the Säiol, refuse to even look at or touch his. Consequent to playing the only game made for it, Gated Crossing, he notices that something about the characters seems off from them staring at him as he plays to some even following him around the open world. Things take a turn for the creepy side of things when he receives a puzzling message from an unknown source on his computer asking if he wanted a cheat. Despite not knowing how the messenger knew he had this extremely rare game or who they were, he agrees and the only thing he’s left with before the messenger goes cold is the cipher written as ’][’|2/-\]\[$&|2€$$][0]\[
