The Breakout

20 of us were tired of living 8 to a bed,

And all the excruciating labor with

not the right nourishment, so we planned a breakout.

One of us was a potter from Hungary,

And another was a locksmith from Poland.

What we needed for the breakout was a mass of guns

and ammo to supply us all.

One day the potter got close to the gun shack

And stuck a piece of clay into the lock of the gun shack

and took it out.

He brought the piece of clay to the locksmith and

he made a key out of copper.

We planned our escape for Saturday night.

Saturday night came and we all crawled to the gun shack.

We used the key and took out 40 guns and rounds

Of ammo each.

We ran to the gate and the guards caught us.

We fought to the end but that was not enough.

Our blood was flowing all over and formed into a big pool.

The attempt was fruitless and we could never see the end of it all.

The place was Poland.

The month was April.

The year was 1943.
