Chapter 1

The Dream

The door opened, a love that she had lost and forgotten swopped in raising his hand up to the back of her neck; pushing her hair back like a strong wind. He pulls her in against his body and kisses her with a force so strong, that she hasn’t felt that passion in years. The tingle on her lips, the racing in her heart, she thinks, “What is this? Why? How did he know where I was?” Questions filled her head like an over flowing sink. With his hand on the back of her neck and the other grasped on the small of her back, her body warmed as if she was lying next to a kindle fire. His grasp was firm, his lips soft and moist; she wraps her arms around the thick torso, as he holds her closer with a love that wasn’t meant to go.

BUZZZZZ, BUZZZZ, BUZZZZZ! “UGH!” as she rolls over to stop the low, but annoying ringing on her phone. She rolls back over and looks to the ceiling, thinking to herself, “It was only a dream.” But the dream has her thinking, “Why him? Of all the things and people she knew, why him?” She shuffles out of her bed and walks to the bathroom. She turns on the sink thinking, “But it felt so real, just as real as my hand throwing water on my face.” She shrugs it off to begin her morning, just like any other morning, coffee, breakfast and prepare her food for the day. But still she could not shake the feeling of the dream, the kiss the passion in the touch. “Get it together Seraphina Malik!” she whispers.

Thoughts of the dream refuse to leave her head. She plagues herself with the thought of this man, this love that was so long ago and has loved another after. “Why does this bug me?” she wonders, why does Javan decide to invade my dreams again. This isn’t the first time Sera have dreamt about her lost love, for it was a few years back she randomly dreamt of Javan Sachiel. Her mind splits into the thoughts of them first meeting, the feeling she got as they looked at one another in the office. She knew then that she had to talk to him; she had to know him, a passion burned in her to be next to him, to feel him against her firm body. She hits the steering wheel, “STOP IT, Sera!” she yells. Sera looked around and said to her, “I’m at work already?” Puzzled that she is in the parking lot of her building, she doesn’t understand how she’s at work so quick, “wasn’t I just on the road?” she replies. For some time now, time has managed to split from her, like small black outs, as if she is somewhere else. This has happened to Sera for so long and doctors, well do not have any answers. Sera shakes off this eerie feeling and collects her belongs and heads up to her executive office. Sera works for a Research and Development Company, Uriel R&D. Sera was so pleased with this new job and promotion, that each day she walked in like a Goddess, the Security Guards admired her, for her grace as she walked into the and greeted them both by their names with such a smile that it could light up a room.

“Good Morning, Michael! Good Morning Samael,” Sera said.

“Good Morning, Ms. Malik,” both Michael and Samael replied.

“Now boys,” as she gave a smirk, “I told you to call me Sera.”

Before the Security Guards could get out a word, Sera had turned away from them with such poise that her dress lifted and the perfume blew to them. Both stopped and took in the smell that was so divine.

Seraphina Malik was different compared to most women in her lifetime. Her charm seductive, her smile could make you forget your own name and her voice was that of an angel. Guess that’s why her mother named her after Seraphim the highest of the archangels to God. Or just maybe they liked unique names. Whatever it was Sera was different.

You could hear the clicks of her heels heading to the elevator, her hand grabs the door and she turns back to the Security Guards Michael and Samael, and pauses it was only for a second if that less. Her hair lifts as if a wind was caught in the hall. It was like time stopped and then fast forward to her walking up to her assistant Arella Hanael.
