"It is decided!" Iris thought, "I am going on the Appalachian trail!..."

"Iris, do you know the answer?’’ Mr. Mcgill asked, interrupting her thoughts.

"Huh!?" Iris confusedly said. The class roared with laughter, Iris blushed."Iris Cordero!’’ Mr. Mcgill Bellowed. "Detention!"

Immediately the class quieted and stared at their desks, but not Iris, she stared determinedly at Mr. Mcgill, finally, she called "Why?".

Her teacher stared at her in surprise " Because you of all my students, my prized Student was not paying attention! That is why Iris." ‘’But I-I’’ Iris started, but Mr.Mcgill interrupted,

“No, but’s Iris detention tomorrow after school.’’ ‘’Fine what do I

care” Iris exclaimed “Oh you will care, Iris, because you will spend the afternoon mopping the hallway!’’ The class gasped as Mr.Mcgill finished his sentence. Iris whipped around and stared at him, finally, the bell rang and the class pushed and shoved to be the first out of the classroom

As they walked down the street Iris handed Rachel her notepad “Did we get everything?” Iris asked. “Umm yeah, I think so! Wait we forgot the food and clothing! Of all things to forget, these things are it!” Rachel replied. “So do you want to spend the afternoon at the mall?” Iris said slyly. “OMG yes!!” Rachel exclaimed!

“Thanks, mom!” Rachel Grinned. “ Yeah thanks, Mrs. Munoz” Iris exclaimed happily. “Oh, no problem, and Iris just call me Jennifer.” Rachels mom smiled. “Um sure” Iris replied awkwardly
