He looked at the shell of the girl he was once so fond of and grimaced. She was dangerous and volatile. He held his weapon steady as she lay there pathetically looking up at him. She moved quickly, too quickly. She was suddenly on her knees and held the barrel of his gun to her head. Her large, sunken eyes looked up at him, pleading.

"Please, just end it" she begged with teas In her eyes. "Please..." He pulled his arm away from her cold skin and she fell forward back onto the floor crying softly repeating "please... Please... Please..."

He turned from her cries in disgust. Her once vibrant beauty had faded. She was bone thin and her skin sagged from her form like every muscle was gone. She shook, sobbing into the cold, bare rock. "Please... Please... Please..." She continued to beg as he stood staring, still pointing the gun at her.

He examined her pathetic form once more, lowered his weapon and turned to walk away. Suddenly, an unnatural screech shook the cavern. "You had a chance to save the world! You had your chance to save yourself!" and everything went black.

When he awoke, she was gone. The door to her cell hung off the hinges and the cavern was covered in hot blood, filled with steam and the stench of death. The guards were strewn in pieces from her cell to the entrance of the cavern and all the other prisoners were missing.

"Evona!" He yelled but he knew she was gone. "You evil witch!" He noticed that although he was covered in blood and gore, he didn’t have a scratch on him. Though, because he lived, it was his duty now to find her and end it, like he should have earlier.

He left the cavern and saw a trail of blood leading down the mountain. He knew he had to follow her, find her, stop her and, ultimately, kill her.
