Subject: Status report

Message: Got the latest batch of stuff from Alpha.  Continuing to push it forward and hoping that we’ll be able to wrap this part up soon.  Keep getting changes from Omega though.  Have you heard from any of the other teams if they’re having to fight with crap like this?  This stupid routine we’re growing isn’t going to ran on any system so far as I can tell.  Later.  Gamma

Subject: Gamma’s fuckup

Message: I understand why you’re so upset but don’t burn me.  We ran the tests you asked for and everything looked clean.  How it slipped the wire and got into the system is beyond me.  I didn’t see any trace routine that would trigger.  Have you asked for the raw code Alpha sent that G appended to the last batch?  Look there because I haven’t seen it yet.  You called off testing, remember.  BTW - been tracking some strange pings down here.  Seem harmless and they don’t do anything other than knock on my jack but traces lose them.  Shot a quick note to Lambda and Pi and they’ve since noticed the pings too.  You should check out things on your end.  Delta

Subject: Gamma’s fuckup

Message:  Beta, you need to pull back a bit.  I’ve been going over some of the stuff that’s been sent to me, and I know it’s gone through other people first, but as many iterations as I’ve already had there’s no telling why a routine was triggered.  Keep in mind that we’re all working in the dark on this.  Most of us don’t even know who each other is other than possibly by reputation and code hallmarks.  Right now there are only five of us who examine the code snippets of some of the others and only three who see everything.  You’re one of those three and if a routine crawled onto the net this is either by design or because we’re all working blind.  I’m one of the few people who know you and you’ve got to admit that the way this team was pulled together is beyond strange for all of us.  I’ve told you in the past few months that this process is prone to error.  We all also acknowledge that our compensation is dependent upon strict factors such as not communicating with each other beyond the scope of this project.  But there are enough red flags in this that even a retarded monkey with its head screwed on backwards could figure out that we were all chosen for a reason.  I know you chose some of us and the team was gathered from other sources and some of us have figured out who the others are but don’t connect dots that may not exist.  Our community is a paranoid bunch and I’m sure you are under a lot of pressure as the lead of a team of mostly anonymous joy hackers but relax.  Maybe you need to tell Alpha and Omega that whatever we’re doing is going to be volatile because of the structure they’ve created.  Just because a few banks crash the same day one of our snippets makes a ran for it doesn’t mean the two are connected.  Our project isn’t completed yet.  Unless you’re holding something back.  It isn’t completed yet, right?

Subject: Stupid test

Message:  You get news soon but I tell you now.  Got three codes from Delta, Pi and Theta and ran test per notes in code.  Nothing.  Then I see comments to connect codes.  Why can’t these fuckers have better comments?!  Money is easy but when I was asked to stitch these craps together I didn’t think stupid U.S. hackers would not know what they doing.  Take three hours to find stupid comments.  You suck as leader.  Keeping in dark stupid.  I don’t care if you tell stupid Alpha and his stupid Omega that either.  Sure they listen anyway and they can’t touch me.  Don’t even know me.  Nobody knows me.  Anyway, stupid test worked fine after I see comments and put codes in proper order.  Ran test again and worked.  Don’t send me stupid email tomorrow that something leaked.  I checked the codes and they were supposed to reboot stupid Chinese systems.  I’m not stupid.  I know this will affect your stupid American companies and news will spread about stupid delays.  You idiots rely too much on your stupid tablets and phones and stupid things.  My test clean and I see what is happening.  I see the codes that go through me and your Alpha and Omega can suck my cock.  I don’t care.  Just transfer money they owe me now.  I be king and you won’t ever have to deal with me again.  Tell them do it now or I make stupid leak.

Subject: WTF

Message:  WTF!  Why asking to transfer all testing to Delta?!!!  Epsilon worked fine.  Why he taking offline?  Last batch of codes transmitted to Epsilon now I have to transmit again and have delay!!  Why!!  Don’t know Epsilon but she test fast.  Now I have to wait.  Fuck!

Subject: Faster

Message: Why has our timeline been pushed up?  First Epsilon is taken offline and now we have to wrap up code faster?  Alpha and Omega need to understand that we don’t even know what we’re coding, within the context of each other, and how can this work smoothly?  I’m already behind and now this?!  Long night but I’ll try to get what you requested by EOD.

Subject: Thank you

Message:  Thank you to you and Alpha and Omega for the partial transfer of compensations.  Came at right time for me.  I understand the request to work faster and will have stuff for you by tomorrow your time.  God bless.

Subject: Pings

Message: Pings are increasing.  Have you checked them since last week?  You can’t tell me anymore they mean nothing.  We’ve cranked things up and with everything going on I’m getting worried.  I’m not going to say who but some of us have received Epsilon’s email to you before she went offline.  We’re now sure she was taken offline because she may have been paranoid but she was right.  The code she tested that night had to be linked to the China micro-blackout.  Hackers outside our group are still talking about it and the ripples are still being felt.  I agree that Gamma’s fuck up was not a fuck up.  I know you don’t either.  Tell me you haven’t been getting pinged and I’ll leave you alone.  I can’t take this anymore because with Ep’s discovery and from what I’ve been working on I can’t do this.  We’re joy hackers, Beta.  We don’t hurt people who don’t deserve it.  But then we already have and being a part of this project isn’t worth it anymore.  I’m going to go offline on this one and you should too.  Seriously, check the pings against you.  None of us are safe.

Subject: Final execution

Message:  I know Alpha or myself have not communicated directly with you all before this but I wanted to take a moment to let you know our project, Phase 1, has come to an end.  You have all played a key role in bringing this historical event to fruition.  Though it will take a few days for you all to realize what is happening you will recognize your part the instant that it all unfolds.  Not everybody who was a part of this effort from the beginning has lasted to the end but you have all made it and this means you have the opportunity to be part of the great future we are about to unleash.  To this end we have transferred your final compensation for your work on this great project and we strongly suggest you all withdraw it in the next day or two.  Once we launch Phase 2, which we call Raganarok, you will not be able to access your funds for at least one hundred eighty days.  Maybe more.  We think it will be helpful for all of you to have your compensation in a liquid form.  We tell you this not because we really care, of course.  But as a warning and we want to give you a head start.  You will all be contacted over the next few days no matter where you are.  At the moment of contact we want you not to worry or have fear in your hearts.  We want you to know that the new order of things is coming and instructions for how to proceed will be helpful in adjusting.  You all hold a special place in the new future and all of you should be rewarded appropriately.  The monetary compensation is just the beginning.  If you all just contact Beta both Alpha and myself will make sure your place is secure.  Do not let the fears of the herd keep you from greatness.

Message:  Fuck you and A and O.  We weren’t told what this was all about and now Chi is dead.  For the record her name was Francesca Elizabeth Concerta Espiranza Gomes.  Not that that means anything to you now.  This whole thing is going to play out and we were all fools.  You were either the biggest of the fools or the biggest evil behind it.  Someday you will rot in Hell and I hope it is soon.  Francesca was my girlfriend you asshole and you suckered us in to some evil scheme.  Just for the promise of some good money to scrub some code.  Just so you know I’ve already talked to some reporters and given my story and what I know.  Maybe it will get out before the world crashes and chaos breaks out.  For me, if I don’t survive this I will die knowing I have made my piece with God.  I only pray you get the same chance, even if I don’t think you deserve it Beta.  She was my girlfriend and just because I was lucky enough to not be home when they came and gunned her down means I will expose this whole thing.
