Logan is working in one of his fields when the settlement’s attack waring alarm sounds. He immediately drops his tools and activates Ryūjin Warrior mode. Visible aura starts coming out of his skin as his horns grow larger, the skin around the scales that run down his arms, legs and spine begin to change to look like scales as well, his muscles flex and increase is size before he takes off running at full speed towards the orphanage creating a wind wake behind him blowing all the plants in the field away. By the time he gets to the orphanage it is too late, the orphanage has been torn apart by fighting. The doors are smashed open, walls broken in and Miss Flatly’s dead body is lying on the ground just outside the entrance.
Logan runs inside frantically looking everywhere for Lorel but all of the children are missing. As he rushes through the halls he finds more of the orphanage’s workers dead in a hallway as well as two dead Neptunians with limbs missing and more signs of a big fight.
Logan goes back to Miss Flatly and leans down to her so he can whisper in her ear “I am sorry I was not here to protect you but I promise I will do everything in my power to save the kids, and I will make the Neptunians that did this regret ever being born.” He grits his teeth.
Logan collects himself before heading to the nearest hidden entrance to the settlements underground bunker hoping to find Lorel and answers as to what has happened. Once all the way inside the bunker Logan is greeted by the colony’s Mayor who is writing a list of everyone who has made it to the bunker.
“What’s going on here?” Logan says abruptly.
“A slavers ship attacked the settlement. They have rounded up all the children they could and are holding them in a temporary fort that they have constructed just outside of town. We have sent a distress call but who knows if they will get here in time.” The Mayor replies rapidly.
“The children from the orphanage, did any of them escape?” Logan asks nervously.
“No I’m sorry they did not. The orphanage was the first place the slavers attacked. They had a hard time of it rounding up the kids from what I have been told, which gave most of the settler’s time to get to the bunker.” The Mayor answers.
“Do we know where their ship is?” Logan asks hastily.
“It is on the edge of town, on the road to the orphanage. Why?” The Mayor questions concerned.
“I’m going to go destroy it so they can’t get away. Then I am going to go rescue those kids.” Logan answers turning his back to the Mayor and walking away.
“Are you crazy? There have to be at least 30 of them out there.” The Mayor shouts.
“Crazy would be sitting here when I have the power to do something. Don’t worry I will be back with the kids soon.” Logan replies.
Logan heads along the tunnels towards his house. Being ex-military he knows full well how long it will take for that distress call to be answered. He knows the slavers know too and since they are slavers they will keep the kids in good shape, ready to sell. Meaning Logan has the time to do this right.
Once inside his lounge room he pulls away the rug in the middle of the room revealing a large locked hatch. Logan places his hand on the lock and the entire unit lifts up out of the ground and opens. Inside is a large array of weapons and armour from his time in the military. He removes a stack of three point, curved throwing stars with holder, custom brass knuckle type weapons with curved blades coming out the sides that go backwards along his arms with a round beading on the back of the blade to allow his arm to absorb impacts on the blades as well as twin front facing blades that come out from between his knuckles, a few small blades with sheaths and finally he strapped a sheathed katana style sword to his hip that had several deliberate x shaped nicks made on its side. Logan unsheathes one of his daggers and makes a new single line mark on the sheath before heading back to the tunnels.
Logan quickly makes his way to the ship and once there he begins to focus and scan the area for aura. He can tell there are four people on the bridge and no one else in the area. Logan shifts into his Ryūjin Warrior form before building up a large aura ball between his two hands and throwing it at the bridge causing a huge explosion. Next he moves his attention to the ship’s engines with an aura beam that tears right through the hull destroying the propulsion systems. One of the slavers survives the blast and jumps out of the ship heading for Logan with his axe at the ready. Logan just stands still waiting for him to come. The slaver swings with all his might at Logan who simply grabs the man’s hand that is holding the axe and crushes it while grabbing the man by the throat with his spare hand, slowly squeezing the life out of him while looking in to his eyes. The look in Logan’s eyes change, he is no longer the grumpy old man the colonists know or the supportive mentor Lorel knows, he is now the unwavering harbinger of death and vengeance that he was during the war.
