Page 11 (four panels)

PAGE 11, Panel 1.

Large panel. Oklahoma stands confounded as he stares up at stacks upon stacks of micromounts in Maynard's room. Maynard has micromounted all of his possessions, or at least everything small enough to fit into a tiny box. Maynard stands, disheveled and cheese puff-smeared, grinning at Oklahoma and gesturing triumphantly toward his mountains of accomplishment.

OKLAHOMA:

Good Lord, Maynard. Is there anything you haven't micromounted?

PAGE 11, Panel 2.

Maynard beams at Oklahoma.

MAYNARD:

Isn't it wonderful? I've assigned everything an item number. You know, Professor Smith, I'm really grateful that you've opened my eyes to the world of geology. In fact, I actually think of you as directly responsible for all of this.

OKLAHOMA:

Listen, I've feel like you've gotten a bit carried away here. I mean, geology is about so much more than just...

PAGE 11, Panel 3.

Small panel. Close up on Maynard's most innocent, adorably childlike expression.

MAYNARD:

More than just what?

PAGE 11, Panel 4.

Small panel. Oklahoma looks defeated. Maynard looks elated.

OKLAHOMA:

Oh...nothing, Maynard. You're just a really dedicated learner.

MAYNARD:

Wow, thanks Professor!

PAGE 12, Panel 1.

Oklahoma smiles warmly.

OKLAHOMA:

My students usually call me Oklahoma.

MAYNARD:

Okie dokie, Oklahoma.

PAGE 12, Panel 2.

Oklahoma picks up a micromount sitting on a stack close to him.

OKLAHOMA:

So what've we got here?

MAYNARD: (OP)

Looks like you've selected MCM15. Excellent choice.

OKLAHOMA:

MCM15?

PAGE 12, Panel 3.

Oklahoma examines the specimen closely, eyes wide with wonder. The marble radiates a heavenly, magical light.

MAYNARD:

Maynard's Childhood Marble #15.

OKLAHOMA:

You know, Maynard, you actually have a real gift. This is perfectly micromounted. In fact, it's almost a work of art. I'm serious. I'd never been emotionally moved by a micromount...until now, my friend.

PAGE 12, panel 4.

Maynard beams at Oklahoma, who stands confused, holding the micromounted marble.

MAYNARD:

Gee, thanks Oklahoma. That's the first time anyone's ever called me that.

OKLAHOMA:

Maynard?

MAYNARD:

Friend.
