Slipperesque

This morning, as in, earlier today,

the day you are reading this

not the day I wrote it, as in, yesterday

or some other day without the yester-

I slipped on slippery slippers!

I must clarify:

Slipped, as in, tumbled to the floor,

as in, somersaulted without the proper landing,

as in, sat down in a chair which turned out to not exist.

Not slipped, as in, to place on one's feet with defined purpose.

Slippery, as in, if a trip will occur it will be here,

as in, place a sign here immediately,

as in, why does this footwear even exist?

Not slippery, as in, pertaining to, or the quality of 'slippers'

And slippers, as in, where is the back of this shoe?

As in, I shouldn't wear these outside but will anyway,

as in, what once was warm is now sweaty feet.

Not slippers, as in, the profession where someone

slicks the floor to watch the trips and falls.

Just to clarify, you know, what I meant.

That was my morning.

Now let me tell you about breakfast...
