Jake Reiner, a young and promising English prodigy is whisked away into a world he does not understand, a world full of Magic and monsters thought impossible to exist, and once he gets absorbed into this world of magic, he can’t ever go back to his normal life. Before Jake Reiner’s story began, there were powerful sorcerers called Dragon Lords. These Dragon Lords had the power to shape our Reality into anything they desired. One day, they all simply vanished out of Time, never to be seen again.
These Dragon Lords are born with powers that no ordinary human could ever have. They had mastery over the arcane arts and studied various other things, including the study of World Travel, the ability to use Void Keys to travel to various other worlds across the Void Map. Without these Keys, no one could go anywhere in the Void Map. A Dragon Lord decided to try get a bit more modern and invented a time machine that allowed more than one person to travel in both space and time. It was said that this same Dragon Lord made the time machines compatible with the Void Keys, allowing World Travel even more advanced than ever before.
At the center of their civilization stands the biggest white flame in history. It is not known what the flame is, but whenever got close to it, they felt it’s raging storm within their bodies, making them even more powerful than when they entered. One such Dragon Lord used the white flame and with it, he brought down a civilization before it’s time. This Dragon Lord’s name was Tarsil, and he was a Lord you couldn’t ever mess around with. Tarsil was once a soft and gentle being with a passion for reading and writing, but after centuries of being alone, he became more irritated and stronger.
It was around five hundred BC that these Dragon Lords noticed that Time was changing. Tarsil was not easily convinced, so he sought out the white flame.
It was midday on August 27th, 500 BC when Tarsil got close to the white flame, not knowing that this was his last time alive. Tarsil got closer and closer to the flame and when he finally touched it, his scales turned pure white and his mind was significantly changed, like the white flame spoke directly to his soul. Tarsil no longer had his green ember eyes, but instead he had white glowing eyes. He was completely changed from the inside out and when he realized what the flame had done to him, he couldn’t stop thinking of the knowledge it imparted to him.
A voice within Tarsil said “Tarsil, you came to me for help, so now I shall offer the Dragon Lords a way to save themselves.” Tarsil knew what it meant. Tarsil would be the one to shift all the Dragon Lords away from Earth, never to let them come back until such a time that Earth was much more accepting of them. Tarsil never understood it, but he followed through with it’s plan. He roared ever loudly and every Dragon Lord in existence just simply vanished out of Time. Tarsil had regretted what he had done soon after and begged the flame to let him return some of his friends. It would not allow it.
Tarsil grew old after a thousand years. He was getting old and fragile, so he decided to create a journal. A journal that would come much later to serve as a beacon of hope for all creatures upon the face of the Void Map. Tarsil created the Journal of Flames, a record of Dragon Lord history and what spells they had discovered. As he wrote the journal in his old age, the flame inside of him started to seep into the journal’s pages and when Tarsil was reaching his eleventh hour, the last of the white flame within him had spoke to him the the last time.
“Tarsil, you have done well. In return for your efforts to preserve the memory of the Dragon Lords with the journal you created, I will lie within it’s pages to give the next generation of Dragon Lords a symbol of hope.” it said to him.
He wished to know what it was, and it knew what he wished.
“Tarsil, many Dragon Lords have asked me what I am, but only you can know my name.”
Tarsil spoke softly in dragontongue and asked him “hrr?”
“My name is Hope.” Hope said, disappearing from Tarsil’s mind forever.
Tarsil died a few hours later, his body evaporating into a dust like substance that humans would come to know as clay. As Tarsil perished to Time, Hope remained on Earth, ever vigilant for the next Dragon Lord. So begins Jake Reiner’s journey into a world of magic and science, never going back to his humani life.
“Let’s begin the testing.” Hope said.
