Meanwhile: In the fire station

“I almost forgot you’re younger than me, it feels good to have another “I know you’re in there!” Dean yelled in the dark. The dark room echoed his voice. He yelled out again, “I’m not afraid of you!”

“You should be,” a voice called out in the darkness making Dean jumped from the surprise of the man’s voice.“Well, I’m not,” Dean said.“Then why did you jump?” the mysterious man asked curiously.“Because your voice surprised me. Why are you doing this?” Dean questioned the darkness.“To make my father proud,” the voice boomed through the blackness as Dean was just getting his eyes adjusted to it. Dean called out sarcastically,

“Well, he must be extra proud of you killing all these innocent people.”

“You don’t know they are innocent,” the man said.“And you do?” Dean questioned with anger in his voice.“Well my father is the devil if I didn’t kill them, he would,” the voice said.“The devil? Show your face!” Dean yelled. The room lit up with fire, Dean and the man was in the middle of it. Flames blazing hot rising towards the ceiling. Dean finally got his eyes adjusted and saw the man, but it wasn’t a man it was a demon the same demon that killed his wife. “It is you, where is the girl?” Dean yelled. The girl appeared lying looking lifeless in the demon’s arms. “Kate,” Dean whispered. “Let her go!” he yelled.“What are you going to do if I don’t?” The demon asked taunting Dean.

“You don’t know me,” Dean said. Suddenly Dean grew a pair of wings arching out on his back, his body glowed, a white light that burned brighter than the fire. The radiant light lit up the outside catching my attention.

“What was that?” I yelled.

“God’s son!?” the demon asked.

“I mean we are all children of God, well the ones that believe,” Dean started getting sidetracked. “But close, I’m just the opposite of you! Your worst nightmare!” Dean yelled flying in the air tumbling over the demon catching Kate in his arms.

“Mm,” Kate mumbled. The fire in the building was swallowing the demon and everywhere else. Dean knew he had to get Kate out of there, he flew out the window and landed safely on the ground his wings disappeared, but the light was still there. I got out of the car once I heard footsteps.

“Dean? Kate?” I called out. Once I saw Dean I ran up to him hugging him with Kate still in his arms. “My hero!” I said. I closed my eyes there was a warmth I felt within in that spread throughout my body when I embraced his touch. I had felt that was a sign that the goodness in Dean overcame the evil in the firehouse. “How is she doing?” I asked him brushing my hand against Kate’s forehead.

“I’m not really sure, I just hope she makes it, it was pretty fiery in there,” he said.

“I hope she makes it too,” I said. When the police came, they brought the fire trucks and the paramedics. The firefighters came around the corner and rushed into the building letting off tons of pressured water onto the fire. The police came behind them with guns in their hands. We pointed to where the demon thing was, and they rushed in after the fire was almost gone. The paramedics came and took Kate out of Dean’s arms. When the police came back out one of them came up to Dean and me and said,

“We checked every inch of that firehouse after the firefighters cleared the fire and we did not find anyone or anything either they escaped, or they burnt to ashes which is not possible to just waste away like that,” the police officer said. Dean and I looked at each other but we weren’t going to tell them that, the thing that was in there was a demon, so we kept our mouths shut and nodded our head. When the ambulance left Dean and I got in the car and followed the ambulance to the hospital. We were both sure that the demon died because there was no way he could’ve got out of that fire. Even if he lived in it. Dean grabbed my hand and said,

“Everything is going to be okay now,” he smiled. What we didn’t know is that back at the fire station while the police were putting the caution tapes up the demon came out killing all the police officers that were there. There was glare in his red piercing eyes, a fire that said he was not stopping until he got what he wanted. When Dean and I got to the hospital I called Kate’s mom.

“Hello Loral, its Macy,” I said.

“Macy, hi sweetie how are you doing?” Loral asked.

“I’m doing alright but I need you and Tom to come down to the hospital, it’s Kate she’s sick,” I said.

“What do you mean sick?” she asked.

“I just need you two to come down here,” I said.

“Alright we are on our way,” Loral said.

“I’ll see you here then, bye,” I said. Loral hung up and I sat down next to Dean and waited nervously until Loral and Tom arrived.

“Dean, I want to tell you something,” I said. Dean looked into my eyes, I was about to speak when one of the doctors came up to us. It was Doctor Steve, the doctor from my dream. “Doctor Steve,” I said standing up. He looked surprised that I knew his name, but I pointed to his name badge and he smiled.

“Your friend is Kate Winters right?” he asked.

“Yes how is she?” she is conscious but we need to wait until her parents arrive for her to see anyone else just yet, have you called them?” he asked me.

“Yes, they should be here any minute,” I said. The doctor nodded and waited around for a few more minutes until Loral and Tom showed up.

“What’s going on?” Tom asked. Before I could speak Doctor Steve led them to Kate’s room and I started to cry.

“Hey, hey,” Dean said standing embracing me in a hug. “Shh, just have faith,” he said. I buried my face in his chest and a sense of calmness was rushing over me as he put his hand on the small area of my back. I looked up into his glowing caramel brown eyes and just blurted,

“I love you.” Dean’s eyes widened at first but then they softened.

"You love me?” he asked shocked.

“I have never loved anybody, the only man I think I could ever want to love is you. You make me feel complete, like my whole life is not just a lie, you’re the only person keeping me alive,” I told him. Dean just looked at me stunned, he didn’t know what to say and I realized I made a fool of myself. I put myself out of his embrace and stared at the ground until Loral and Tom came back out.

“What happened to her, I read the police report that the doctor gave me,” Tom asked furiously.

“Kate called me, and she was in trouble,” I said wiping tears from my eyes.

“What do you mean by trouble?” Loral asked.

“Someone kidnapped Kate,” I said.

“Kidnapped her? Who would do that?” Loral asked going into Tom’s arms.

“I know you know Mr. Johnson, well, he wanted to help, we went into a place where he thought she might’ve been. When we got there Mr. Johnson went into the place and saved Kate, but there was a fire that she was in for a long time and I don’t know how well she is or not. When the paramedics came, they took her and left to the hospital and now we are here,” I said.

“She wants to see you and Mr. Johnson,” Loral said.

“How does she look?” I asked.

“Go and see for yourself, she needs you,” Tom replied. I hugged both of them and Dean shook their hands. Dean and I started towards Kate’s door and before I went in I just stopped and stared at the door for a minute.

“Are you okay?” Dean asked. I nodded my head.

“I’m just afraid,” I said.

“Afraid of what?” he asked.

“I’m afraid she might die,” I said. Dean took me into his arms.

“Don’t talk like that,” he said kissing my forehead.

“But what if she does?” I asked looking up at him.

“I don’t know,” Dean said breaking my gaze. Dean and I entered Kate’s room. When I reached her bed, I said,

“Hey, Hun,” moving strands of hair out of her eyes.

“I’ll give you two some space,” Dean said. I slightly smiled back at him before he left. Kate looked at me like she wanted to know. I already knew what she was thinking so I nodded my head, yes and Kate smiled saying,

“So?”

“Kate, I told him I loved him and now he can’t even look me in the eye,” I told her.

“Because he loves you too”

“Yeah, that’s what I would call it,” I just rolled my eyes and kissed her cheek. Kate was smiling but soon there came a flash of fright upon her face and fear crept into her voice when she coughed, “He is not dead, Macy, he is not going to die, because he cannot die, he is already dead.”

“What are you talking about Kate?” I asked.

“C- I mean that thing is coming after me,” Kate said puffing out breaths.

“Oh nonsense, wait who?” I asked.

“I can’t say his name, he told me he would slit my mother’s throat if I did,” she articulated.

"Kate, I wouldn’t believe such a thing,” I replied.

“You don’t know what he can do and I’m not taking any chances,” Kate swallowed.

“Do you know him?” I asked. Kate nodded closing her eyes.

“Be careful,” Those were the last words she said before she died.

“Kate!” I yelled, but it was too late Kate was already gone. My best friend and the only person that was there for me through it all was gone. I stood up feeling the room spin and my head started to feel light-headed. “Dean!” I yelled as I fell hitting my head on a table. I woke up in a hospital bed hearing two voices around me. I looked to the side and saw my mom sitting in a chair talking to Dean, she looked like she had fallen off a cliff, her eyes were black her brown hair was a mess though she tried to hide it with a ponytail.

“Momma?” I said. Once Dean and my mom saw I was awake they rushed over to me taking both sides of the bed. My mom’s hand went up to my face.

“Hey darling how are you feeling?” she asked.

“Kate is dead momma,” I said looking up at her with tears in my eyes.

“I know sweetheart, I’m so sorry,” she replied hugging me.

“Dean and I concluded something dear,” my mom said. I sat up looking confused. “Dean agreed, that he is going to take care of you for me,” she said.

“Wait, why?” I asked.

“I’m not doing so well with breathing and staying myself out of trouble with my health, as you can see. I’m going to get some help, so I can get the proper care,”

“I can take care of you, momma,” I said with tears filling my eyes.

“Honey I know but when you’re away at school I’m not sure I can, keep myself together, you understand that don’t you?” she asked. I nodded my head. My mom was getting worse with prescription drugs and using them for her own needs. I looked up at Dean and smiled a little, he smiled back. “I’m going to give the keys to the house to you, so you can grab what you need to be with Dean. I love you Macy,” my mom said. I hugged her tight.

“I love you too momma,” I said. When my mom left Dean and I were the only ones left in the room. Dean came up to me and grabbed my hand and knelt on his knees, so his face could be level with mine.

“The doctors said they do not know why Kate died, they sent her to a different hospital to get evaluated at. I talked with her parents they are very upset and scheduling a funeral date for her, they said when you have time try to go and see them,” Dean said. Tears started to roll from my eyes as Dean put a hand to my face removing the wet stains from my cheeks. I was crying softly as Dean squeezed my hand and lifted my chin. “Look at me,” he whispered. I held my head down not wanting him to see the tears. “Please,” he begged. I looked at him my eyes fresh with tears. “We are together now, forever. I’m never going to leave,” he said.

“I told you I loved you and you totally freaked out,” I said to him.

“That was because I was shocked, how could a young woman like you ever love a man like me?” Dean asked.

“I already told you, you are my life, my whole heart,” I said.

“I know that now and I won’t let anything bad happen to you ever again, I promise,” he said reaching down and kissing my lips. First time feeling his lips I instantly started to go happy crazy. My heart was beating out of my chest and I was feeling sparks from my toes to my brain. All of me inside and out felt like I was on fire. When he let go he smiled.

“Macy, I have loved you since day one,” he said. I instantly started bawling. “It’s okay my love we are together now and whenever you are ready the doctor already cleared you.

I nodded letting him know I was ready, and he took ahold of both of my hands lifting me out of the bed. I hugged him tight, when I let go I looked into his warm, chocolate eyes and smiled gently. I put my hands through his hair and said,

“This is it, everything I had dreamed of. But I didn’t want it to happen this way,” I said as my smile dropped. Dean leaned into me slowly, blowing cool blissful air from his mouth spreading it across my face as he kissed me. When he let go he looked into my eyes. I felt like he was looking right into my soul. I never knew I could feel so much, and then he smiled, the dimples on his face and the crinkles by his eyes grew big. I was completely and utterly in love with a man that had just lost his wife and me who had just lost their best friend. “I don’t think I can do this,” I said trying to back out of this relationship before it even starts.

“I promise, I’ll tell you everything, no lies just truth. I promise I will love you and I will never let you feel empty or lonely. I’ll strive every day to make a smile appear on your beautiful face. And most of all I’ll long for every moment and cherish every ‘I love you” you say to me,” Dean said extended his hand asking for mine.

“You know, how many times I have been hurt, and now Kate is dead. I really don’t know how to deal with my emotions. I do care for you so much Dean. You are everything I want, I’m just not sure if you are ready to deal with me,” I said scared for his response.

“Darling, I know and that’s why I want you. I am the right man for you to end all of this hurt and pain. I am prepared to fight and live for you, no matter how bloody it gets,” Dean said sincerely. I just stared at him. This man is literally my own piece of heaven that I touched and get to call mine and I’m stupid if I let it go.

“Dean Johnson, you have my heart and I am willing to take this chance and be ready to walk out this door with you to our future,” I said. A smile grew from his small lips and I took his hand and we exited out of the hospital together. We got back into my red hummer, Dean drove.

“Hey, do you want to go back and get your car before we go to my house?” I asked.

“I guess that way there will be more room to put your stuff. Are you okay to drive?” Dean said.

“Okay sounds good,” I said. I drove to the school where I let Dean out and he followed me to my house. When we got to my house Dean got out of his car and I got out of mine. He looked at my house a little surprised.

“You live here?” he asked.

“Yeah, it’s a habitat, I never wanted to be here but there was no one to take care of my mom when I was gone,” I said looking at the overgrown vines up the white paint-chipped house. The grass wasn’t mowed, and the front porch was deteriorating. I took out the keys and walked to the door.

“Where is your dad, if you don’t mind me asking?” Dean asked.

“My dad left me and my mom when I was born. It’s just been my mom and I for 16 years,” I said opening the door.

“Oh, I’m sorry,” he said following me in.

“It’s alright. Brace yourself the inside is almost as bad as the outside,” I said. I heard Dean chuckle a little bit and we entered the house. The living room was the room we entered from outside. The room had paper all over it, the carpet was stained, and cigarette buds were all over the couch. When I’m home I do my best to try to clean up, but this room looked as if no one had cleaned it in a month.

“Oh,” I heard Dean say in disgust. I chuckled a little bit.

“I told you,” I said. Dean followed me into my room. My room was spotless. I cleaned the carpet once a week and I had air fresheners. When we got into my room Dean breathed in deeply and sighed.

“Fresh air.” I laughed hitting his chest. “Hey,” he said. I just shook my head and grabbed a suitcase to put clothes and other stuff in. Dean was looking at one of my photo albums and smiled. “You were such a happy kid,” he said. I walked over to him putting my arms around his waist and my chin on his shoulder.

“Not as happy as I am now,” I said kissing his cheek. Dean smiled turning to face me. He put his hand on my face stroking my cheek. I smiled.

“What is it about me that makes you so happy? I mean look at me I’m old, not good-looking. You are beautiful and could get any guy that you want. What made you, want to be with me?” he asked.

“Exactly, I wanted you. I want you. You make me happy, you make me laugh. You’re smart and different. Were there other guys that I could have pictured myself with? Maybe, but you looked at me the way every woman longs to be looked at, it was sensational. The more guys I met the more I thought about how you cared for me. I wanted to love you, I wanted to have you. I loved my eyes when you considered them, my name when you said it. I love my heart when you touch it and most of all I love my life when you are in it,” I replied happily. Dean stared at me with a longing desire in his eyes as he leaned in to kiss me. Before he kissed me he just stared into my eyes making me cry out a sign of desperation for his lips, Dean chuckled as he softly brushed my lips. I was tired of waiting so I pulled his shirt closer to me and with full force I kissed him. Dean smiled.

“We should probably finish and get going, it’s getting late,” he said still kissing me. I smiled.

“You’re probably right but your lips are just so irresistible,” I said.

“I know,” he said letting go smirking.

“Too much,” I said. Dean laughed. I finished packing my clothes, shoes, pictures and teddy bear named Dayton that my grandma gave to me when I was born, then I grabbed my acoustic guitar.

“You play?” Dean asked.

“Yeah since I was ten,” I said.

“Sweet you’ll have to show me sometime,” Dean said. I smiled.

“Well I’ll be living with you for the rest of my life, so you’ll probably hear a little bit,” I said. Dean smiled back taking my hand.

“You ready?” he asked grabbing my suitcase with his other hand.

“Ready,” I said squeezing his hand with mine. We got into our cars and Dean led the way to his house. We entered a private drive and started on a dirt road. Passing different types of trees and beautiful colored shrubs growing with fantastic flowers. When we arrived at Dean’s house it was just as beautiful as I imagined. But in my dream, it was different. The house was huge and castle-like. With glass windows and beautiful old wood and cement, this was a house you only saw in fairy tales like Cinderella. Dean didn’t have a garage but a cement pavilion that he put his car under and I followed. Once we got out of our cars I ran up to Dean with my guitar on my back.

“Gosh, Dean this is beyond beautiful this is so enchanting, you never told me you were so rich,” I said. Dean laughed.

“I’m not rich, this house has been in the Johnson household for more than 100 years,” Dean said.

“Wow,” I said looking around.

“Here let me give you a tour of the house,” Dean said.

“Okay,” I said. Dean took my hand and led me inside. The inside was even more beautiful than the outside with high arched ceilings and walls painted in gold and royal blue. I just felt I was in royalty. There was a beautiful white staircase that led to the upstairs that had black metal flowers as handle railings. We entered a room that had four sofa-like chairs and one couch all in red. The carpet was red also with majestic designs in gold. There was a huge fireplace on the wall and a TV above it. Above the room was the upstairs and a balcony for walking that stretched for about 100 meters with rooms upon rooms. An old French barn door caught my attention, leading to what smelled like the kitchen but I stopped when I came upon two portraits of a man and a woman beside each side of the door.

“Is this your mother and father?” I asked.

“No, great grandparents. Like I said I have things in here going back to the late 1800s,” Dean said.

“So, are you the only one who lives here?” I asked. Dean shook his head. I was confused.

“Follow me,” he said. Dean took my hand opening the doors, leading me into the kitchen. It looked like a stone cellar but on the first floor. There were pots and pans hanging on the walls, a stove and a sink that were stainless steel and another fireplace. We exited out of the kitchen and headed out two brown doors that led us to the outside. Outside there were chickens running around, a goose, there was even a blue and green peacock standing on a bench.

“Wow,” I said in amazement.

“Wait there’s more,” he said. We walked out further into the yard and there was a beautiful white pavilion with gold painted stripes on the pillars. There were gorgeous red roses growing in vines up the pillars as well.

“So, is this what you meant when you said there were others living with you?” I asked.

“Not quite,” he said. I squinted my eyes confused. “Follow me,” he said. I followed him to a barn and he opened the barn doors and found the most majestic-looking horses. There was one that was all white with a grayish-black streak. Another horse who was all black with a long flowing mane and a young foal with black and white patches all over its body.

“Oh Dean, they are so beautiful,” I said in amazement. Dean came up behind me and pointed across my shoulder to the white horse saying,

“That’s Greta she’s an Arabian horse, she’s about 15 years old.”

“She’s beautiful,” I said. I felt him smile on my head as he kissed it pointing to the black horse he began saying,

“This is Max, he’s a Friesian horse, he’s 11 years old, and the little one his name is Adrian he’s a cross of the two horses and he is my baby.”

“They are absolutely beautiful,” I said.

“Thanks,” Dean said. “Now I have someone who’ll ride them with me, right?” he asked.

“I would love to; didn’t your wife ever ride them with you?” I asked.

“Well my horses never really liked her, there was this one time when we were riding I don’t know what got into Greta, but she just kicked her off. Ever since then she didn’t ride,” he said.

“Oh,” I said. “Should I be afraid?” I asked. Dean chuckled.

“No, she likes redheads,” Dean said winking at me.

“Well that’s good, I guess,” I said. Dean took my hand and led us back into the house. We walked up the stairs and into a room.

“This is our bedroom,” he said. There was a huge bed with red and purple drapes on the bed. The carpet was royal blue and it was soft under my feet.

“Man, it feels like I’m living in a fairytale-like one of my childhood dreams,” I said.

“I just want to make you happy,” Dean said kissing my hand. I smiled.

“I am so happy, you have no idea, you’re my prince charming that I dreamt about when I was younger,” I said

“And you’re my Cinderella,” he said. I smiled. “I have others I need you to meet,” Dean said. He took my hand and we exited the room and ran down the flight of steps. “Regina, Alec, and Alejandro can you please come here!” Dean yelled. Regina, Alec, and Alejandro entered the living room. “Yes, Mr. Johnson,” They all said.

“Dean, remember?” Dean corrected them.

“Oh yes, Mr. Dean,” Dean slapped his forehead. “Guys, this is Macy, Macy this Regina, she is the youngest and our newest cook,” Regina had long curly blonde hair and dark brown eyes. She looked like she was in her early twenties. Regina was dressed in a light blue dress with a pair of brown stilettos, she had an apron on which was covered in different spices and liquids. I shook her hand, which was fragile.

“Next this is Alec,” Alec had dark curly black hair and bright green eyes. Alec looked in his mid-thirties and was dressed in a long sleeve white shirt that he had buttoned up to his elbows and a pair of brown slacks. I shook his hand also. “And finally, this is the oldest, Alejandro, he helps when we have parties and making sure everything is on top, kind of like a butler,” Alejandro was dressed in a black suit and tie with salt and pepper hair that was spiked up in the front. He has light blue eyes and a white smile. I shook Alejandro’s hand and said to everybody,

“It’s so nice to meet you all,” I said.

“You too, Miss Macy,” They all said before departing back to their jobs.

“Hey, your birthday is coming up, isn’t it?” Dean asked.

“Oh yeah,” I said.

“You’re going to be 17 this year,” he said.

“Yep, next week, actually,” I said.

“I might have a surprise for you on that day,” he said suspiciously.

“Like what?” I asked.

“You’re just going to have to wait a week,” Dean said.

“A whole week?” I asked pouting.

“Yep,” Dean said with a mischievous smile. I just stuck my tongue out at him. Dean just smirked at me.

“I want to tell you about my dream, why I was scared,” I told him. We sat on the couch as he pulled me close to him and put my head on his chest.

“Tell me,” he whispered.

“Basically, to put it in short terms,” I started.

“No short terms I want the whole thing,” he said.

“Well long term, I had a dream I went to your classroom the day you wanted me to go and you confessed you love me and I confessed my love for you. I punched the Ryan kid out from third hour because he was saying mean things about you. Then I moved in with you because my mom died, we went on a date and then the next day I went to the hospital because there was this guy with a knife in the library. Everything seemed so real it was creepy and then there was Chris and he killed you but that was a dream inside of a dream,”

“Alright, you got me confused a long time ago, even with the long story” Dean stated.

“I’m just glad your name is Dean,” I said. He gave me a curious look.

“In my dream it was David,” I said. Dean chuckled.

“Hey sweetheart, you don’t really think that something you dreamt is going to come true, do you?”

“Part of it already did,” I stated.

“That’s different, I already loved you just had to wait until the right moment to tell you,” he said. “And who’s Chris?” he asked.

“It was Kate’s boyfriend,” I replied Soon there was a knock on the door.

“I wonder who that could be,” Dean said aloud. Dean started walking towards the front door with me following behind. When Dean opened the door, Chris stood in front of him. “Hi?” Dean said curiously.

“Chris? What are you doing here?” I asked.

“Oh Chris, you were Kate’s boyfriend, right?” Dean asked, ironically, we were just talking about him, which was a bit strange. Chris looked confused and I spoke,

“What are you doing here?”

“Well when I heard that Kate died I rushed over to her parents to talk with them and they said they were moving out of state, so I went to your mom and she said,”

“Wait,” I said cutting him off. “How did you know where my mom was?” I asked.

“I’ve talked her once or twice and I knew she was thinking of going into rehab because she didn’t want to hurt you anymore, but anyway I went to talk to your mom about staying somewhere since Kate’s parents were leaving and she said she’d let me move into her old place but it needs more than a little fixing up to do, so she mentioned you and Dean I guess, and she told me to come here and ask you guys,” Chris finished.

“How do you even know who my mother is?” I asked considering I had only met the guy once.

“I used to be a pharmacist at a hospital and gave her, her medicine,” he said. For some reason, I had a feeling he was lying, but I had no other reason to make up for how he knew my mother.

"So, you want to know if you can live here,” Dean said looking over to me, I didn’t say anything, pretty much staring into space.

“Well not for long just for enough time that I can find myself a job and get my own place,” Chris said.

“Come in and sit on the couch, I’ll have to have a conversation with Macy first and then we’ll see,” Dean said. Chris nodded and sat down in the red velvet loveseat. Dean and I went into the kitchen and started talking.

“What do you think about him staying here?” Dean asked me.

“I don’t know, Kate and he were really close, but I never got to know him. Something about him just really sets me the wrong way,” I started

“I imagine he’s having a rough time just like the rest of us and the last thing he needs is to be is alone, so I think it’s best to let him stay for a few just to help him back on his feet. You never know what could happen,” he said

“I guess you’re right,” I said with a hint of worriedness, but compassion in my voice. Dean kissed my forehead and said,

“You are always such an angel,” I smiled at him calling me an angel and kissed his cheek. We walked back out and Dean announced,

“Good news, Chris, you can stay, I talked it over with the boss here and we believe it’s the nicest way to let a hurting guest like ourselves into our household.”

“Thank you so much,” Chris jumped up from the loveseat with excited in his voice. “I was worried that I would have to sleep on the side of the road and hold out my thumb waiting for some weird murderer in a truck to come pick me up,” Chris said with sarcasm.

“Don’t worry about that, Macy and I are happy to welcome you to our home,” Dean said shaking Chris’s hand.

"Thank you again, I’ll just go get my clothes and necessities I need for life from my truck I’ll be back,” Chris explained.

“Alright once you get back, I’ll show you to your room,” Dean said. Chris gave thumbs up before walking out the front door. Once Chris came back Dean showed him to his room while I went into the kitchen to help Regina with dinner. I walked through the doors that led to the kitchen and said,

“Regina, I’m coming to help with dinner.”

“Oh, Miss Macy you really don’t need too,” Regina said.

“But I want to,” I said smiling. She smiled a sincere soft smile back. We started a pot of water for spaghetti to boil and then I asked where she was from. “Where are you from Regina?”

“Sweden, I came to America when I was 18, my parents knew Dean’s parents, so they got me a job here cooking for their parties and whatever they wanted. Well whatever Kathy wanted,” she said rolling her eyes.

"Who’s Kathy?” I asked.

“Oh, sorry Miss, she was Dean’s wife. She didn’t like anything I cooked or anyone. I don’t know why Dean stayed with her, you could tell she didn’t love him. One night when he was working late at school, I saw her with another guy in the meadows. Don’t ever tell Dean I told you that, but Dean is sweet he always compliments my cooking and sometimes he gives me a break and he just cooks by himself, which he is an excellent cooker,” she said. I smiled as she went on. “I’m happy you’re here, he needs someone like you, I mean I haven’t known you for long, but I have that instinct if I like you or not and I do,” she said.

“I like you too,” I said. Regina smiled. “Oh, and just call me Macy, Miss makes me feel old and I’m younger than you,” I said. Regina laughed.

"I keep forgetting that, I’m just not used to a girl that actually talks to me and is around my age,” she said.

“Yeah same, I am an only child so all I had to talk to was my mom and she was never fully there,” I said.

“Oh, I’m sorry,” she said.

“It’s okay,” I said. We started to cut up vegetables for salads and put the linguini noodles into the boiling pot. Once we were done making the food Regina and I set the table in the rotunda outside. When we were done setting the table, I went in to get Dean and Chris. “Dean, Chris!” I yelled after them.

“Dinner is ready!” Both men ran down the stairs like little boys jumping over each other to see who gets there first. “Boys stop running, don’t you know better?” I asked with my arms crossed. They both looked at each other and said,

“No.”

“Well, I suggest you learn then,” I said walking away to the outdoors. Dean ran after me throwing his arms around my waist and picking me up. “Put me down, Dean!” I yelled. Dean put me down. “Gosh give me some warning next time, you scared me,” I said hitting his chest.

“Sorry babe, but you looked too good, so I just wanted to grab you and I guess I got a little excited,” he said. I smiled and hit his chest again as I leaned in to kiss him. “Mhm,” he said kissing me. I smiled.

“Are you ready to eat?” I asked.

“Yeah,” he said. When he let go, he grabbed my hand and we started to walk towards the table. Regina and Chris were staring at us.

“What?” I asked.

“You guys are just the cutest couple I’ve ever seen,” Regina said smiling. Dean and I laughed Chris just gave me a stern look that made me feel uncomfortable. After dinner, I helped Regina clean up and do some of the dishes. Regina was smiling at me when I was rinsing off one of the plates.

“What is it Gena? Do you mind if I call you that?” I asked her. Her smile grew and she just shook her head.

“It’s just that I’ve never seen Dean this happy, and when he is happy it makes the household run better, there is no stress put on everyone and we can just kind of relax,” she replied to me. I just smiled. I wanted to ask about Dean’s departed wife but I didn’t know if it would be appropriate or not.

“Gena?” I asked as we were about done with dishes.

“Yes, Macy?” she asked me.

“About Dean’s wife, I know I should ask Dean but he gets really closed off when I mention her, I just want to know more about her, especially this mysterious man you saw her in the fields with one day,” I said. Regina looked around as she led me out into the foyer.

“You really want to know?” Regina asked. I nodded. “Well it all started when I first started working here about a year ago, Kathy had just gotten a job working for the school board down at the administrative center and Dean, well he didn’t like it. He thought that if they worked so close together they would never have anything to talk about no interest in each other anymore, but that didn’t matter for Kathy, because if you ask me I don’t know what Dean ever found attractive in that woman. Yes, she was breathtakingly beautiful, but Dean he’s not an outward appearance person he’s more of the gold of the heart and trust me when I said Kathy’s heart was not gold. It was as if Kathy wanted to win at everything, arguments, jobs, who’s better at this, who’s better at that and soon she became very distant. Dean would get home right after practice like he said he would while Kathy never made it home until past dinner time. I overheard an argument of theirs and she was accusing him of having an affair. Out of all people she was accusing him. I was so angry that I did something I probably should have not done. I went through Kathy’s emails and there it was! She was the one having the affair, I can’t say that I ever saw this man she was within the field closely all I know is that I saw a figure that wasn’t Dean’s and that was my first sign. So I started to do some work on my own and I found out she was having an affair with so 24-year-old loser who still lived with his mom, from what he told her. I just couldn’t believe it, Dean is such a kind-hearted, intelligent, man why she would have to waste her time and marriage on some low-life loser beats me, but he got lucky with you Macy, I swear. I don’t know what I’d done if Kathy was still here. Not saying I’m glad she’s dead because that was devastating but I can tell Dean is much happier and lively with you,” she finished.

"I’m happy yet pissed,” I told her.

“I don’t blame you, I can tell you love Dean very much and love, that is hard to find,” she said.

“I believe he is my soulmate,” I told her. Regina smiled as we heard the door open we pretended like we were straightening up the outdoors.

“What are you lovely ladies doing out here at this time of night?” I turned around to find Dean’s smoking-hot body leaning against the glass doors. I smiled and ran up to him as I jumped on him and wrapped my legs around his waist. “Well hello there, beautiful,” he looked at me. I stared longingly into his eyes for a minute then put my forehead to his as I felt his warmness of his face and the coolness of his breath on my lips.

“Excuse me,” Regina said going back inside. I smiled at her then returned my gaze back to Dean.

“Are you okay, my love?” Dean asked wanting to know what my reasons for being so clingy were. I started placing small kisses on his jawline and then moved to his soft lips were I just devoured him begging for entrance in he let me, moving my tongue across his I heard a slight desiring moan escape his lips then I breathed,

“I love you so much. You are my forever and ever and ever,” I was just so excited that this wonderful man was mine, mine all mine. Dean smiled and kissed me even more passionately.

“I love you so much more, darling and you are my forever and ever as well,” he said. I wanted to cry as happy as I was when I jumped back down onto the ground I just put his hand in mine and said.

“I’m never going to let anyone tear us apart, I will love you for as long as I live and I will never stop wanting you, cherishing you, needing you for you are my only desire left for living, you are my one true love, my soulmate.” Tears filled Dean’s eyes as he kissed me again.

“Damn,” he whimpered. “How did I get so lucky, what did I do to deserve you,” he said a little bit emotional.

“Baby, you are you. Perfect in every non-perfect way, your flaws are flawless to me. You are everything and more, it’s not what you did to deserve me but it’s what I did to deserve you,” I replied.

“Stop Macy, you are way too beautiful for me,” he said. I just shook my head and crashed my lips into his one last time.

“I will never stop loving you,” I told him. Dean smiled so big as I grabbed his hand and led him inside.

“How about we go to bed, our first night laying next to each other, are you ready for this?” he asked me leading me up the stairwell.

“I will never take my eyes off of you, not until you fall asleep,” I said.

“Goodnight everybody,” he yelled before closing the door. Dean held me in his arms in the dark moonlit room. “How do you want to sleep tonight?” he asked me.

“What do you mean?” I asked.

“Meaning clothes,” he smiled bashfully looking away. I blushed instantly.

“Well I have some nightgowns, but I think I have a better idea,” I told him un-embracing from his grip. Dean never once took his eye’s from mine as I started to remove my shirt and pants. I pulled his body close to mine as I put his hand on my belly moving it up and down my arm as he slowly started to trace it on his own with his fingertips, I could see him biting his lip. I took his shirt off his body and traced his ab line making him shiver a bit. He took his pants off revealing his boxers. And we laid in bed, holding one another and never letting go and never looking away, I was not sure who fell asleep first but it was the first good night’s sleep I’ve had in 16 years. “I love you,” I whispered.
