Story Overview and Premise

Story Overview:

This is an ambitious story of the infinite potential of humanity for both good and evil told from the perspective of a young girl born with a foot in both worlds. She is an innocent born of unprobable circumstance and alone even in the multiverse. Both in the world and apart, she becomes a unique observer to the changes, advances, and darker sides of human nature.

While infinite realities is potentially an overwhelming setting to deal with any story, the main premise is that infinity can be made meaningful in ratios and probability. If an event has a 99.9% probability of occurring, then essentially there would be 1 world for every 999 in which that event does not occur. While there are infinite realities in which the event occurs and infinite where it does not, the ratio can take finite meaning. For example, if there are ten billion earth realities where life never develops and never discovers the multiverse for every one earth that does, then in finite terms you’d have ten billion un-populated earths from which you could harvest resources. This ratio would remain a finite constant despite infinite realities. In the same way a young girl’s birth could be so improbable as to make her alone in the finite spectrum of realities their world interacts with.

The book breaks the 4th wall in addressing the reader directly in the prologue and posits a thought experiment. One of the ultimate goals of the book will be to challenge the reader to envision the probability spectrum of their own existence and how they measure up. Another major theme will be diving into the mundane changes to daily life in a world devoid of our present concerns. In a world where resources are unlimited, technological advances are shared between connected worlds, and education is proactive, how would we respond?

How many would become despondent, depressed, and withdrawn? What would be done in response? Example: One friend will be enrolled in a multi-dimensional suicide prevention program that actually pairs them with another suicidal version of themselves. Success rates are incredibly high as they literally find a best friend in themselves. Similar therapies exist, correspondence with alternate selves or families, etc.

On the positive side, without fear of failure, all advances within the multiverse are proactive. Machines and robots with perfected limited AI are on hand to assist any entrepreneurs. Field trips to primordial worlds, virtual education programs, and FTL travel. However, with all outward technological advances and scientific understanding growing exponentially, the most fascinating will be the introspective look at our own humanity.

Changes are made so rapidly once the reality bridge is complete because all of a worlds’ surpluses are stockpiled in preparation of a new reality discovering the multiverse. After assimilation into the multiverse, our reality then starts preparing to do the same for another reality.

While the world can be an utterly fascinating and endless field of potential to get lost in, the story will keep a grounded focus on Avree. The first catalyst will be a 2nd grade school field trip to a near reality where she’ll discover to her dismay that she is the only one in the class without a twin. Not that other children will be identical to their counterparts, but due to genetic variation from birth (different sperm fertilizing the eggs with gender difference being the most evident) only one of the children in the class will actually be an identical reflection. Still, all except Avree will have a similar reflection.

This realization puts her on a path of discovery about her parents and about the potential outcomes of all those around her. As time passes she is troubled by the changes to her world. While undeniable positives come from the merging of universes, her own story and perspective also pays tribute to anomalous individuals that aren’t well accommodated. She writes her story and it gains massive recognition within the multiverse and it becomes a sort of missionary tract for realities on the verge of multiverse breakthroughs.
