I’ve heard this a lot, I’ve had people older than me tell me to be more confident in myself, and to embrace who I am.
The only problem is that who I am is not the same as what everyone else sees. The people around me see a beautiful, gorgeous, pretty, cute... girl. I’ve never seen myself that way.
I should probably introduce myself. My name is Sebastien, or at least that’s my preferred name, my dead name might pop up a few times during the course of the book. I come from an intact family, mom, dad, two younger siblings. We are Christian and I personally have a very strong faith. I am a musician, I play piano, guitar, flute, and ukulele, along with singing and screaming. I’m also a YouTuber, I run the Transversal Collaborative Animated FAQ which aims to enlighten others about individual journeys in the transgender community.
Which brings me to the most important thing about myself. I am transgender, and most people don’t necessarily understand what that means. I feel that the term transgender has a negative social stigma surrounding it, and my goal with this book is to hopefully shed some light on what being transgender really means. I hope that you’ll continue reading and follow my journey of the year after I came out as transgender!
