On the Isle of Avalon, two young women are sitting beside a scrying pool. The brown-haired woman called Mara is collecting herbs that grow along the pool. The blonde, Sarah, is sitting on the short wall edge of the pool. Sarah is day dreaming and she begins to swirl her finger around the water. Suddenly, a vision appears in the water to Sarah. She leans over the water for a closer look. Not only can she see these, she can hear every word being spoken, too. No one else has ever been able to do this before her. Mara recognizes Sarah seeing something in the pool. She quickly goes over to her. Mara sees nothing when she looks in the pool.

Mara frowns, “I never see anything.”

Sarah rolls her eyes at and waves her hand towards her, “Fine. But will you hush up so I can see?”

Mara smiles at this. Now she can see what Sarah sees. In the pool, we see Sam and Dean Winchester going up against The Darkness.

Dean, “You should have never tried to remove The Mark of Cain, Sammy. We are in over our heads with this thing!”

Sam, “I was only trying to help, Dean! You would’ve done the same damn thing!”

The Darkness engulfs them both. There is nothing left after The Darkness passes through. Everything is gone, including Sam and Dean.

Sarah stands up while she screams out, grabbing the sides of the pool, “NO!” The force of her scream resonates on the hill top.

The water from the pool splashes up in Mara’s face, “Hey!” Mara wipes her face off.

Sarah stares at Mara, “I know what I must do. I must go and help them.”

Mara looks at Sarah, shocked, “Go help who?” She stands up from beside the pool and points down to it. “The two strangers you just saw in the pool?”

Sarah takes Mara’s hands in hers, “They are not strangers, Mara. They are my childhood friends. They are Sam and Dean. I have to go save them before The Darkness destroys them and everyone all of us.”

Tears brim Mara’s eyes. Worriedly, she says, “But, what if you can’t ever return to Avalon? What if you can never come back to me?”

Sarah smiles at her friends concern. Softly, she says, “My dearest, If She wills it, then I shall be allowed to return. If not, then so be it. But, I must go help, for right now.”

Mara bows her head, “Alright.”

Later that night, Mara is sleeping soundly. Sarah is still awake in the room that they share. Sarah is sitting in a chair cross legged, meditating. Suddenly, her eyes snap open, “That’s it!” She whispers. “I must replace The Mark back on Dean.” She frowns at the thought. She closes her eyes again and resumes her meditations.

Dean is sleeping soundly in his bed. Sarah appears beside his bed. She has astral projected herself to him. She looks over Dean as he sleeps. She sighs and steps closer to the bed. She places her right hand on the top of his head and brushes the hair back, leans over him and kisses his head lightly where the forehead meets the hairline.

She whispers, “I am sorry to have to do this to you, my dearest love. But, I have to protect you and everyone else around us.” She closes her eyes as she comes back up from the kiss. She reaches her left hand out over Dean’s forearm. With her right, she stretches upwards palm side up.

Back in Sarah’s room, Sarah is still sitting in her chair. Only now, her hands are positioned how she was in Dean’s room. The Darkness is being funneled into her upstretched arm.

Back in Dean’s room, Sarah’s hand that is over Dean’s forearm, we see The Darkness transformed back into The Mark of Cain.

She staggers backwards. “I am truly sorry. I will fix this.” She regains her composure, “I promise.”

Back in Avalon, Sarah suddenly falls to the floor as she reenters her body from her astral projection. Mara is jolted awake from the sound.

The Lady Morgaine enters the room, “What happened?”

Mara shakes her head, “I don’t know, My Lady. I was asleep. She saw something in the pool today. Two men, Sam and Dean, I think she called them? She said that she has to go and help them.”

Morgaine nods her head. “I see.” They lay Sarah on her bed.

Mara askes, “Morgaine, will she wake up soon?”

Morgaine looking over Sarah motherly, “I hope so.”

The next morning, Dean runs into the main hall, calling for Sam as he does, “Sammy! Sammy!”

Sam stands up from his seat at the table he has been working at.

Dean shows him his arm where The Mark is now, “Look! It’s back!”

Sam grabs his arm and askes confusedly, “But how?”

Dean pulls his arm back, “I don’t know, Sherlock!”

Sam with hopeful eyes, “Do you think this means Amara and The Darkness are gone now?”

Dean curious, “I don’t know. I mean, The Mark is The Key to keeping her on lock down. Maybe?” Dean shrugs at the thought.

Some months later Sam and Dean are sitting in a small café in Massachusetts. They have just placed their order for food. Dean leaves to use the restroom. A young woman gets up from her seat from across the café. She walks over to the table Sam is now sitting alone at. Her blonde ponytail swishes softly as she walks. She looks intently at him. As he realizes that someone is watching him, he looks up. He opens his mouth to start asking her if he can help her.

Sarah smiles brightly, “Sammy?!”

Sam smiles that shy smile she remembers from childhood.

Sarah continues she rambles, “It is you! How have you been? It‘s been so long!”

Sam looks at the woman, trying to remember who she was. Between the rambling and then those amber-green eyes, it clicked. Sam smiles big when he realizes, “Sarah?! Oh wow! It HAS been a long time! How are you?”

Relief that he remembered her, they hug briefly. Sarah nods, “I am doing alright. It’s been rough. But, I’m hanging in there. How’s Dean?”

Sam, “He’s good. He’s here.”

Sarah smiles, “He is?”

They both sit. Being able to see the both of them safe and alive is an even bigger relief to Sarah.

Sarah continues, “How’s Uncle Bobby?”

Sam looks at his coffee. He started to play with it.

Pain touched Sarah’s heart. Sarah’s thought came through loud and clear to Sam, ‘Oh, no. That one came true.’ Sarah reaches her hand out to Sam’s. The pain showed in her eyes when he looked up at her.

Sam, “What came true?”

Sarah closes her eyes briefly. “Oh Sammy! I am sorry.” Sarah realizes that they still had that connection. She reached for him in a hug. As they pulled away from their hug, Dean returns to the table.

Dean smirking, “Are you going to introduce me to your new friend, Sammy?”

Sam, surprised by Dean’s arrival, “Dean! You should know this one! This is-“

Sarah cuts Sam off. “Hold on Sammy.” She smirks at him. “Let’s see if he can remember who I am on his own.”

Sam nodded and smiles. Sarah hears Sam’s thought. ‘This will be fun.’

Sarah walks around the table closer to Dean. She smiles, “It’s been too long, Dean. I am glad to see you again.”

Dean racked his brain to recall who this woman was. Sarah watched him struggle for a short time. Sam smirks big at Dean.

Dean glances over at Sam. “A little help here, Sammy?”

Sarah giggled. She leans in and whispers in Dean’s ear, “I am glad that you survived the fall from that tree. Tell me though; did those girls stay away from you when I left?”

Dean snapped from his thoughts and looked deeply into Sarah’s amber green eyes. It clicked. “Sarah?!”

Sarah smiles brightly. “Yes!”

Dean lifted her up by the waist and spun her around in a hug. “Oh is it awesome to see you again!”

Sarah returned the hug. They stepped back a little after awkwardly. Dean makes to sit in his seat. Sam waited at this point for a better hug. Sarah and Sam hug again. Sam sits down and Sarah takes a seat on Sam’s lap. Her arm rests around Sam’s neck, almost as though they have never been apart all of these years. The three were happy to see each other again.

* * * Dean’s Flashback * * *

Dean is about 7 years of age, Sarah and Sam, respectfully younger. Dean is sitting at the table in Uncle Bobby’s kitchen. Sam comes running into the house, slamming the door behind him.

Sam, “Dean! Dean! Sarah’s not home!”

Dean, tries to calm Sam down. “Maybe she went to the store with her mother. She’ll be back soon, Sammy.”

Sam shakes his head no, “The house is EMPTY, Dean! Sarah’s NOT HOME!” Sam tugs Dean out of the chair.

Dean’s face went to worry. “What? What do you mean, the house is EMPTY?” Dean gets up from the chair and both boys run to Sarah’s house.

Sam opens the front door, “See. NOTHING. All of her stuff is gone. What are we going to do, Dean? She never came to say good-bye. Why did she go?” Sam threw his little arms around his big brother’s waist and buries his face into him. Sam beings to sob softly.

Dean just stands there in shock. He pats Sam’s back. Dean thinking aloud to himself, “Where did you go, Sarah? Why didn’t you say anything about leaving?” Dean whispering to the house, “If I had known, I would have fought to let her stay.”

* * * End Flashback * * *

The waitress brought the food and left. Dean has his usual greasy burger. Sam has his normal, healthier choice.

Dean with a mouthful, “So, do you live around here?”

Sarah smiled. “No, I’m travelling right now.”

Sam asks, “Where are you headed?”

Sarah, “Oh, I wanted to look for some special places to see. And maybe find those lost to me along the way.”

Sam asks, “Is it working for you so far?” He pokes Sarah’s side slightly.

Sarah giggled, “I don’t know.” She smirks at him. She leans her head against his fore head, “Could you be someone lost to me?” She winks.

They started a small but brief tickle fight like they used to have as children. Dean watches them and smiles. It was the same Sarah as he remembered. Maybe she’ll stick around for a little while.

Sarah asks casually, “So, after we eat, where are we heading off to?”

Dean almost fell off of his seat. He stammers, “You want to come with us?”

Sam shakes his head at them. Sarah and Sam laugh at Dean’s almost fall.

Sarah very demandingly, “I just found you two. Do you really think I am just going to let you go, now? How many years has it been, Dean?”

Dean caught off guard, “I, I…” He had forgotten how easily Sarah could get her way.

Sarah continues, “It’s been much too long, Mr. Dean Winchester. And if you think that I am just going to walk away from a chance to be with my two favorite boys, then you are sadly mistaken.” Sarah pouts slightly with this remark.

Dean just looks at her, flabbergasted.

Sam hugs Sarah tightly. “Oh how I’ve missed the way you make him speechless! You are truly the only one I have ever known who can do just that!”

Sarah raises her eye brows at this. “Really? Hmmm, very interesting. Then it’s settled. I am tagging along.” Sarah ends the discussion by tossing a bite of Sam’s food into her mouth.

Dean leans over his remaining food and sighs, “I guess I am outnumbered then?”

Sam and Sarah look at each other, then turn back to Dean together smiling. “Yup.”

Dean smirked at them, “Is it going to be two against one the whole time?”

Sarah smirks back and winks at him, “Not if you play nice.”

Dean just nods. The three finish their meal and went on their way. Sam fills Sarah in briefly on all that had happened recently.

As they approach the Chevy Impala, Sarah notices the car. “Is this your father’s car?”

Dean proudly replies, “Sure is.” Dean pats the hood.

Sam adds, “Dean had to rebuild her.”

Dean proudly smiles, “Baby has been real good to us.”

Sarah questions, “Baby?”

Sam leaning to whisper in Sarah’s ear, “It’s the car’s name.”

Sarah nods, “I see.”

They arrive at their new “home”. The bunker they inherited from the men of letters. Sam gets out and opens the door for Sarah. As Sarah steps out of the car, she looks up in awe, “Wow. I am impressed already.”

Dean proudly says, “Wait until you see the inside.”

Sarah smiles, “Lead on, my good man.” She motions for Dean to lead the way with her hands. Sam takes her arm. They walk arm in arm to the door. They go inside and flip on the lights. Sarah’s eyes light up with it. She walks around looking at everything in a slow spinning circle, “Wow,” is all she can say.

Sam, “There are all kinds of things here. And books.” Sam’s eyes light up. “Lots and lots of books.”

Sarah smiles at Sam, “Really? That sounds like a lot of fun.”

Dean claps his hands together, “Who’s hungry?”

Sarah wrinkles her nose at him, “Didn’t we just eat not that long ago?”

Sam whispering, “He’s found the kitchen and has never been the same since.”

Sarah nods her understanding, “Nesting, I see.”

Dean giving a look, “I make an awesome burger. Just wait until you’ve had one of mine.”

Sarah not wanting to hurt Dean’s feelings agrees for some food, “Sure, why not.”

“I’ll be right back.” Dean disappears into the kitchen.

Sam motions to the table for Sarah to sit. Sarah takes a seat. Sam sits next to Sarah. Sam rests his head on his hand propped up on the table. “Wow. I still can’t believe it.”

Sarah asks him, “Can’t believe what, Sammy?”

Sam staring at Sarah, “That we found you. It feels like a dream. I can barely remember when you left.”

Sarah sadly, “Oh, that. Yeah, I’m glad that I did find you. The BOTH of you.”

Sam continues, “Dean was crushed when you and your mom left. He sat on your front steps waiting forever to see if you would return.”

Sarah drifts off, “Me too….” Sarah begins to remember what happened that day so many years ago. Sarah is suddenly back in her childhood home by Bobby’s house. Sarah and her mother, Morgaine LeFaye, are in the kitchen.

Younger Sarah, “I don’t wanna go, Momma!” She stomped her foot on the floor. “I like it here! I finally have friends!”

Sarah’s mother sighed, “It’s all set. We are leaving. Those friends of yours could have gotten hurt, or worse.”

Young Sarah points to her chest, “It was MY idea to climb that tree, Momma!” She threw her hands to the air in frustration, “Mine alone! Dean fell out following me to make sure I was safe!”

Sarah’s mother sternly, “It’s Done Sarah.”

Young Sarah storms from the kitchen to her bedroom. She throws herself onto the bed, crying.

Sarah is snapped back to reality by Sam. “Sarah?” Sam places a hand on hers.

Tears have welled up in Sarah’s eyes remembering that day that sealed their separation. At the touch of Sam’s hand, Sarah turns and sobs quietly into Sam’s shoulder. All of those years of separation were finally over. She had found her boys again. Things could be better now.

Sam pats her back, “It’s alright. What’s wrong?”

Dean enters the room. He sees Sarah crying, “What’s gotten her upset?”

Sam shakes his head, trying to figure out words.

Sarah wiped away some of the tears, “It’s alright, Dean. I was just remembering that day my mother said we were leaving back when we were little.”

Dean sits down on the other side of Sarah and places his hand on her arm, “You Knew?”

Sarah nods, “The night before we left, I found out.” Sarah turns to Dean and takes his hands. She saw the hurt in his eyes now. She continues, “I never had a chance to go and tell you. I had no choice in the matter. I tried. Oh God did I try to reason with her! She would not hear any of it.” Tears run down Sarah’s cheeks. Dean wraps his arms around her.

Dean consoles her, “Shhh. It’s alright, Baby Girl. I am here now.”

Sam smirks, “Now who’s making her cry?”

Dean shoots Sam a look. Sam’s smirk disappeared. It may have crushed Dean when she left, but it broke her heart more to have left them both behind.

Later that night, they showed Sarah to a room she could use. She got ready for bed and turned in for the night. For once, she has a smile on her face. She felt almost safe again. Almost. Sarah tosses and turns through the night. Sarah is having another one of her vision dreams again.

Sarah, Dean, Sam, and Castiel are all inside a warehouse of some sort. They are searching for something. As they are quietly walking down a corridor, Castel disappears. Sarah turns to Sam and Dean and asks, “Where did Cassie go?”

Dean and Sam both turn and look around. Sam places a hand on Sarah’s shoulder, “Don’t worry. We’ll find him.”

Sarah nods. The three continue on their way. A few minutes later, Sam disappears. Sarah starts to realize what dream this is, but she can’t wake herself up yet. Sarah panics, “Dean! Sam’s gone now!” She turns to look at Dean and he is gone now, too. She must continue on her own. After what seems like forever, she finally finds them all. They are all dead. She has failed yet again.

Sarah wakes up with a start. She sits bolt upright and whispers aloud, “No. Please don’t let this happen like this.” She looks around the room and remembers where she is. “Maybe I can still change this.” She jumps out of the bed and leaves the room. She finds Dean in the main hall sitting at the table slumped over a book. She rushes over to him relieved that he is alive and safe, “Dean!”

Dean stands up at the sound of her voice, “What’s got you spooked, Baby Girl?”

Sarah wraps her arms around his waist and buries her head in his chest. She hugs Dean tightly to ensure he was real, “I had a dream. It’s better now.”

Dean motions a seat by pulling it out for her, “Do you want to talk about it? It must have been pretty bad for you to come looking for someone.”

Sarah sat silent. She bit her lower lip.

Dean looks at her, “Sarah? Is it the dream from when we were younger?”

Sarah looks at Dean. Tears well up in her eyes but none flow down. She nods yes, “You all disappeared. I couldn’t save you. You all died. I couldn’t stop it! I tried…. I tried.” She trails off.

Dean rubs her back, “Shh. It’s alright now. It was just a dream.”

Sarah sits up straighter, “No it’s not.”

Dean looks at her puzzled, “What do you mean? Is it like one of those freaky visions things or something?”

Sarah gives him a frown and quietly replies, “Something like that.”

“Well, rest assured, Sammy and I have rewritten many of these things. We can help change this one, too.” He winks at Sarah. She smiles slightly. He continues, “Tell you what, go back to your room and freshen yourself up. I will bring you some tea to calm your nerves.”

Sarah nods, “Okay.” She gets up and heads to her room.

Sarah comes out of the bathroom and sees Dean placing a tray of tea and snacks on the small table in the room.

Dean looks up, “Feeling better?”

Sarah takes a deep breath, “A little.”

Dean pulls out a seat for Sarah.

“Thank you. Sarah drinks the tea while Dean has a beer. They drink in silence, each lost in their own thoughts for a time. Sarah finally breaks the silence, “Where’s Sam?”

Dean puzzled by this question replies, “He went on an errand. He should be back shortly.”

“Is he safe?” She asks.

Dean gives her a look of concern, “Of course he’s safe.”

Sarah continues, “Are you sure?”

Dean thinks on these and presses, “Does this have to do with that dream?”

Sarah frowns and looks down at the floor. Dean takes her hand on instinct and places it over his heart. Just like when they were kids. “What do you feel?” He asks her softly.

Sarah smiles at the memory of this, “Heartbeat.”

Dean places his hand over Sarah’s heart, “What do I feel?”

“Heartbeat.” Sarah looks down sadly.

Dean notices this. He lifts her chin up, “And if Sam was here, what would HE feel?”

Sarah smiled. She looks into Dean’s eyes. “Heartbeat,” she whispers.

Dean, still holding her chin in his hand, continues. “I promise. This here is real. Sam is safe. He will come home safe. We will all help to change this dream of yours.”

Something made Sarah lean towards Dean and kiss him. He returns the kiss. It felt real. THIS felt real. The dream melted away. They parted and sat there in silence. Dean breaks the silence finally, “Are you going to be okay?”

Sarah distantly, “I don’t really know anymore.”

Dean, “Do you want me to sit here with you a while longer?”

Sarah pauses a moment, “Truthfully, I am afraid to go to sleep anymore. This is the only dream that ever comes to me now. It’s almost like it wants to imbed itself into my brain; like it wants me to never forget this. Does that sound crazy?” She looks at him. “Am I going crazy?”

Dean smiles and gives a small laugh, “Baby Girl, if you’re going crazy, then welcome to the club! Sammy and I are always thinking that we have to be crazy to be doing half of what we have done.”

Sarah hugs him, “Thank you. I feel better now. That is a great comfort knowing that I am not the only one who may be going crazy.”

Dean suggests, “Why don’t you lie back down and try to get some sleep? I will sit next to you to make sure you are safe.”

Sarah nods, “I would like that. And you’ll wake me the second Sammy comes home? Not a second later?”

Dean returns the smile, “You have my word.” Dean sits next to Sarah on the bed and wraps his arm around her. They quietly remember when they were younger.

Sarah, “Remember that day Uncle Bobby took us to the park. The one where I was sitting by those girls at the tables?”

Dean replies, “A little, Why?”

Sarah remembers fondly, “I heard those girls talking so meanly of what they wanted to do to you. I don’t know what came over me then.”

The two of them continue in their memory of that day together. Young Sarah is sitting at the picnic tables listening to the preteen girls at the next table.

One of the girls, “I would just spit him back out. After I broke his heart, of course.”

The other girl, “Nah, lead him on for like ever. Imagine how much homework he’d do for you.”

Sarah couldn’t take it anymore. She jumped off of the table, “You WILL leave him alone.” While she glares at them both.

The first girl laughs at Sarah. She asks snugly, “What are you going to do about it?”

Sarah smirks back and replies sinisterly, “This.” She yells for Dean, “Dean!”

Dean runs over to Sarah’s side and asks innocently, “What’s wrong, Sarah?”

Sarah looks at the girls. She wraps her arm around Dean and puts her face close to his. The girls watch curiously. Sarah closes her eyes and licks Dean from chin to temple. She places her mouth close to his ear and while breathing, “Mine.” Sarah prays for protection from the two girls. This becomes Sarah’s first spell without her realizing it.

Dean doesn’t even notice the strangeness in this. He looks at Sarah and asks, “Did you need anything, Sarah?”

Sarah steps back, “No, I forgot what I wanted. Thank you, though.”

Dean runs back off to where Uncle Bobby was. The girls stare at Sarah in disbelief. Sarah has a sudden air of confidence, “ANY of you harm him at all, I WILL find you. You WILL pay.” Sarah turns and skips to the swings where Sam is sitting.

Sam looks up at Sarah as she approaches, “What was that all about?”

Sarah, “Oh, just protecting Dean.”

Sam shrugs, “Oh. Okay.

Sarah looks at Sam and smiles, “Want an underdog?”

Sam’s face lights up, “Yes! Underdog!”

Sarah jumps behind Sam, “Hold on tight!” She slowly builds momentum, “One, two, three!” She runs through with Sam’s swing in her hands on three. She releases as the swing goes as far as she can reach. Sam laughs in happiness of the push that sends him high in the air in the swing. Sarah sits in the swing next to Sam smiling at his happiness.

Uncle Bobby walks over to check on them. He is smiling at them. He is glad that they can just be kids even for just a little while, “What have you two been up to?”

Sarah smiles, “Swinging of course, Uncle Bobby.”

Sam, “Sarah does the best underdogs! I go way up high when she does them!”

Bobby laughs, “That must be real fun.”

Sarah, “Swings are fun at any age.”

They end their remembering with a slow silence. Slowly Sarah falls asleep. She rests more on the pillow. Dean decides that he is too tired to leave the room. Besides, he did promise to stay so she would feel safe. Dean lies down next to Sarah and closes his eyes. He remembers this from childhood, keeping Sarah safe from her nightmares. He drifts off to sleep as well.

After some time, Sam slowly opens the door to check on Sarah. We see the camera on the door as it slowly opens and Sam’s’ head peeks in. Sam whispers, “Dean!”

Dean lifts his head slightly. He kisses Sarah’s forehead, “Look who’s finally decided to come home.”

Sarah slowly opens her eyes. She sees Sam slowly enter the room. She smiles brightly, “Sammy! Thank goodness! Come here.” She opens her arms to welcome him. She hugs him tightly. She kisses his forehead and places her hand over his heart. She smiles, “Heartbeat.”

Dean nods, “I told you he’d make it home safely.”

Sarah smiles, “So you did. Stay Sammy, like when we were kids.”

The three of them share the bed. They slumbered better than they had in years; almost as though they felt safer together, stronger together.

* * * Flashback to Bobby’s House * * *

A younger Uncle Bobby opens the door to the room the boys are sharing. He walks silently into the room. He sees both boys and their new friend Sarah sleeping soundly in the bed. Sarah is holding little Sammy and Dean’s stretched out arms are around the both of them, as though they are protecting each other. Bobby smiles to himself. He takes a blanket to cover the three of them up and leaves the room.

* * * End Flashback * * *

The following morning, Dean and Sam are in the main hall talking about last night while they let Sarah sleep longer. Sam, “What was that all about last night?”

Dean shrugs like it was nothing, “Sarah had a nightmare again.”

Sam, “What nightmare? She’s had this before?”

“You know where something happens to us and we get hurt.” Dean keeps munching on his breakfast.

Sam gets annoyed by Dean’s avoidance of the topic, “What?! And were you going to tell me this at some point? That maybe it would be good to know this?”

Dean shrugs, “Well, yeah, but it wasn’t my dream. I was going to wait for Sarah. It is HER nightmare after all. She’s had these when we were younger. You don’t remember that?”

Sam sits down in his seat, “No, I guess not. What spooked her with it?”

Sarah enters the room unnoticed, “Spooked who?”

Both men stand up when they hear her voice. Sam is closest to her and walks over towards her, “How are you feeling this morning?” Sam gives Dean a look. Sam escorts Sarah to a chair as Dean makes to pull it out for her.

Sarah sits, “Better than I have in a long time, I will admit.”

“I’ll go fix you some food.” Dean leaves the room.

Sam continues, “Dean said you had a nightmare last night.”

Sarah distantly replies, “Yeah. It’s been the same one lately. We are all together in some warehouse. Then, one by one you all disappear from me. I can’t manage to save any of you. It ends with you all dead.” Tears start to slowly trickle down her face.

Sam places a hand over hers and looks at her with those big eyes, “Oh Sarah that is horrible. You know we won’t let something like that happen if we can help it, right?”

Sarah nods, “Besides, Cassie is not here. So it won’t come to pass as of yet.”

Sam curious, “Cassie?”

Sarah realizes that the boys did not know who Cas was, “That’s right. Cassie came to me after I left you. He’s my angel friend. He kept me company when no one else could.”

Sam swallows. ‘Could it be?’, “Do you mean, Castiel?”

Her heart leaps, “Yes! Have you heard of him?”

Sam smiling shyly, “Yes we do. So he was with you while we were apart?”

Sarah, “Yes. But recently, he left. He said something bad was about to happen and to keep me safe, he had to leave. I haven’t seen him since. I’m worried for him.”

Sam, “Yeah, we have lost him recently. He came to help us save the world from Lucifer and Michael.”

Sarah raises her eye brows, “The apocalypse?”

Sam, “You got it.”

Sarah, impressed, “Wow. And to imagine, the world will never know my two white knights that saved them!”

They both laugh at the thought. Dean reenters with a tray of food. Dean smiles, “Well, it sounds happy in here!”

Sarah, “Yes. Thank you.” She picks up some food from the tray.

Sam excitedly, “She knows Cas.”

Dean surprised, “What?”

Sarah, “I know Cassie. He came to me when we got separated.”

Dean making sense of the news, “So he knew where you were this whole time? And he never bothered to mention this once?”

Sarah saw the pain in his eyes and heard the anger in his voice.

Sam, “He told her he had to leave her to keep her safe. Dean, he may not have wanted us distracted; or, wanted to risk her injury so she can be here today.”

Sarah walks around the table. She wraps her arms around Dean’s waist, “Castiel said that if he was not back by now, that I was to come find you. That it might be safe enough to do so.”

Dean wraps his arms around Sarah, “He said that?”

Sarah looks up at him and smiles, “Yes.”

The anger melts from Dean’s face, “Cas is a good friend.”

Sarah hugs Dean tighter, “Then we’ll go find him?”

Dean smiles at her. He places a hand on her shoulder, “Absolutely, Baby Girl!”

Sarah kisses his cheek and leaves the room to get ready.

Sam pats Dean on the back, smirking, “She did it to you again, man.”

Dean looks at him puzzled, “Did what?”

Sam smirks and shakes his head, “Got her way.”

Dean shrugs, “That’s okay. We probably should be looking for Cas by now anyways. It’s been too quiet on the angel front.”

Some weeks later, the three are sitting in the main hall. “There has been no sign so far pointing to where to even begin to look for Cas.” Dean looks at Sam nervously. Sarah’s hope in finding their shared friend has been fading fast.

Sarah sighs heavily, “I think I’m going to go take a shower or something to recharge myself.”

Dean’s eyes light up. Sam gives Dean a look to not give them away and says to Sarah, “A break from this sounds like a great idea. If we find anything, we will come get you.”

Sarah sadly walks from the room, “Alright.”

Dean leans towards Sam and whispers, “This will never work!”

Sam whispers back while punching his arm, “Shut up and go get ready!” Sam dashes to a corner of the room and pulls out a garment bag hidden there as Dean goes out of the room.

Sometime later, Sarah comes out of the bathroom wrapped in a towel. Her clothes are no longer on the bed where she left them. She scans the room to find an elegant and beautiful white laced dress hanging on the changing screen instead. She looks around the room a little more. There is a note attached to the dress. It reads:

‘Wear me’.

“What is this, Wonderland?” She puts on the dress anyways. She sits at the vanity to finish getting ready.

Sam is waiting for Dean and Sarah to return to the room. Sarah stands in the doorway. She is nervous for the first time in her life. Sam looks up. He quickly stands up at the sight of Sarah. He himself becomes nervous now. Sarah smiles as she walks into the room.

Sarah lifts up her hair, “I could use a hand with this.”

Sam realizes that she needs help with the zipper to the dress, comes back from his thoughts. “Of course!” Sam helps with the zipper.

Sarah turns to face Sam after. She looks at Sam shyly for approval. Sam takes her hands in both of his. He lifts them both to his lips and kisses each hand one at a time. Then he lifts the hands outward to get a better look.

Sam smiles proudly, “You look breath taking.”

Sarah smiles shyly, “Thank you.”

Sam takes a step back and makes the twirl around motion with his hand. Sarah obeys and twirls slowly for Sam to see the full dress. Sam smiling proudly, “I am glad I picked this one out.” He leans against the table and reaches for his hat. Sarah notices now that Sam is in an older style tux as he places the hat on his head.

Sarah narrows her eyes at him, “So why are we playing dress up?”

Sam trying to not spoil the surprise, “You’ll see. It’s a surprise.”

Sarah nods her head. “Ah. I see.” She looks at him playfully and smirks, “So twenty questions is it?” She pokes him playfully.

Sam chuckles: Nope, I won’t tell. He pokes her back.

Camera shows Dean entering the doorway: Sammy, I can’t figure all this stuff out. I feel like I’m in a monkey suit. More so than our fed suit, I mean.

Sam and Sarah stop and look over at Dean who is still playing around with his suit. He has not yet noticed that Sarah is in the room.

Camera back to Sarah as she elbows Sam: The boy cleans up nicely, huh?

Sam laughing loudly: He sure does!

Dean looks up at the two of them and forgot all about his suit. His eyes stayed on Sarah standing next to Sam with her hands behind her back. She was no longer the tom-boyish girl from childhood. He just stood there in awe at her sudden realized beauty.

Sam nudged Sarah: Do you think he noticed you yet?

Sarah smiles and says sarcastically: No, not at all. She walks over to Dean. Let me help you with this, dear. Sarah helps Dean with the few things he had trouble with. (Cuff links, tie, etc.)

Sam: I will be right back. Sam leaves room.

(Just Dean and Sarah now)

Dean is at a loss for words. He still can’t get over how she looked. Sam picked the perfect dress for her.

Sarah breaking the silence: You look very dapper in this. She smiles at him.

Dean: You look awesome. He gives a look like that may have been the wrong word to have used. He shakes his head.

Sarah smiles: Thank you.

Dean leans in to give her a small kiss on the cheek. Sam enters the room. He has a white shawl to go with Sarah’s dress. He places it around Sarah’s shoulders.

Dean: Are we ready?

Sam: Not yet. One more thing, remember? He gives Dean a look. It takes Dean a moment to remember.

Dean: Oh yeah! He smiles his goofy smile. I forgot.

Sarah eye balls them wondering what they could possibly be up to now. Sam pulls out a small box. He hands it to Sarah.

Sam: This is for you.

Sarah takes the box and opens it. Inside is a silver charm bracelet: Oh how lovely. As she pulls it out.

Dean: I helped.

Sarah giggles slightly: You did?

Dean points to one of the hearts that has been added to it: Yeah, I picked this one.

Sam: The bracelet belonged to our mother. We added to it for you. The hearts open.

Sarah opens each of the hearts. Inside is a photo of Sam and Dean respectively.

Dean proudly: Now we will always be with you.

Sarah smiles lovingly at it. Now if they were ever apart again, they will still be with her. How thoughtful.

Sam: There are some protection charms on it, too.

Sarah points out a small vial: Salt?

Sam smiles: Yes. And a few other odd things. You can add to it as well. It’s all silver minus the iron we added on as well. You know, for those ghosts that like to pop in from time to time.

Sarah: It’s great. Will someone help me put it on?

Sam helps put it on Sarah’s right wrist. She gives Sam a kiss. Sam blushes.

Sarah: Thank you.

Dean has a goofy grin on his face when Sarah looks over at him. She smirks and shakes her head at him. She goes over and gives him a kiss on the cheek as well.

Sam: Let me see if we are ready yet. Sam goes outside and returns shortly after. He motions it’s time to go.

* * * Outside the Bunker * * *

Outside is a limo waiting for them. Sam opens the door to let Sarah inside first. Sam and Dean climb in. The limo pulls out. After a time, the limo pulls up to an opera house. The men get out and then help Sarah out. She looks up at the building.

Sarah: Is this the big surprise?

Sam and Dean smiling: Yes.

Sarah smiles: She slides her arms through each of theirs. She felt like the Belle of the ball with her two handsome escorts.

They enter the building.

* * * A Private Box Inside * * *

They have their own private box to watch the opera. Sam and Dean have surprised Sarah with a performance of Phantom of the Opera. There are a few things that do not seem “right” about this performance however. Sarah keeps it to herself at first. It could just be her mind playing tricks on her. She does not want to ruin this night. The boys have tried so hard to distract her from finding Cassie. Towards the end of the performance however, Sarah can’t help herself.

Sarah under her breath: That bastard! He swore to me!

Dean who is trying to not show how bored he was sitting there: Who swore what?

Sam looks at Sarah, concerned: What’s the matter?

Sarah shakes her head: Signature trademark of someone from my past. She looks at Sam. We may need to pay a visit to El Director.

Sam smiled: I actually have a private tour lined up with him.

Sarah’s eyes narrow: He knows we are here?

Sarah turns to Dean: Salt. Now.

Dean snaps into action: Finally, something cool.

Sam: Hold on a second, why salt?

Sarah looks at Sam seriously: Have you met El Director face to face yet?

Sam with a questioning look on his face: No. We have only spoken on the phone.

Sarah: Dean, do you have your knife?

Dean smiling proudly: Of course.

Sam looking somewhat disappointed that Dean can’t just leave weapons at home, ever: Dean!

Dean: What? Dean looks as though he done nothing wrong. You’ll thank me one of these days.

Sarah turns to Sam: Sammy, what El Director has failed to tell you is that he is a vampire. I ran into him years ago. He promised me then that no one would be hurt on his stage again. He SWORE it to me. He has clearly gone back on his word. I must stop him from doing so further.

Sam trying to wrap his head around this: Let’s finish the show and go TALK to him first before you and Dean go slaying, ALRIGHT?

Sarah: Well, of course, Sammy. You know that I would find out what’s going on first, right?

Sam pointing to Dean who began playing with his knife: You would. Slayer-boy over there would not.

Dean: What? I always carry one on me. You never know when you need one. And you’re welcome.

Sarah nods: Duly noted.

* * * After the Show * * *

An attendant shows them to El Director’s office. It is an ornately decorated room. They take a seat near the large desk. El Director enters the room from another door. He wore an antique style suit. He had an air about him like he was from another lifetime. He looks at Sarah seated in front of him and his face brightens up.

El Director: Miss Sarah! How delightful it is to see you again! You look well.

Sarah: I wish I could say the same, but there is something troubling me about tonight’s performance.

El Director: I can explain. He removes a folded piece of paper from his front coat pocket and slides it across the desk slowly to Sarah. His eyes never leave hers. Sarah slides it closer to her and unfolds it. She reads it:

(In El Director’s Voice) ‘Sarah, I do hope that you believe me as to tonight. It is not I. I swore to you that night that I would never do that again. I have tried to keep that promise. My entire cast has done so as well. But, unfortunately, there is a newcomer in my company. I have reason to believe that it is him who is behind this. I had hoped for you and your friends to help me in this matter. There are too many ears in these walls as you already know all too well.’

Sarah folds the note back up. She sits up straighter: I shall like a tour of your palace, El Director. She smiles sweetly at him. And maybe a meeting of your new and rising star?

El Director smiles in return: Excellent. I shall have him meet us on the stage, then?

Sarah’s eyes narrow brightly: That would be a lovely spot to meet.

They continue to share smiles. El Director sends one of his assistants to send a message to the new star.

Assistant: Right away, Sir.

El Director stands up and gestures to the door: Shall we?

Sarah stands as well: Surely.

Dean pulls Sarah aside: I thought we were going to off him?

Sarah whispers: Not now, Dean. Wait for it. She squeezes his hand and turns to follow El Director out the door. Dean looks down at his hand. Sarah had stuck the note into his hand. Dean reads it quickly then passes it to Sam.

* * *

As they are having their tour, Dean and Sam are whispering behind Sarah and El Director.

Dean: Why are we not just offing them off already?

Sam: You read the note. He said it’s not him. Did you not hear the conversation back in the office?

Dean: What if he’s lying? They lie, you know. This could be a trap.

Sam rolling his eyes at Dean: Sarah obviously trusts him. So for now, we don’t off anyone.

Dean scoffs: Well, that’s just stupid.

Sam: Why Dean? Because a vampire might actually be telling the truth just this one time? That a vampire might actually need our help?

Dean scoffing still: I just don’t like the looks of him. That’s all. I don’t think he’s telling the whole story.

Sam opens his mouth to rebuttal. But, before he can say anything, Dean makes to be paying attention more to the tour so he can end the conversation. Dean walks closer to Sarah and El Director. Sam just stands there a moment shaking his head.

As they ended the tour, El Director brought them over to the stage. Sarah smiled brightly. She always loved standing in the middle of the large stage. She closed her eyes for a moment.

The camera goes to a shadow just off the stage.

A voice from the shadows: El Director? You wanted to see me?

El Director: Yes Charles. I would like you to meet some friends of mine. They saw your performance tonight and just had to meet you.

Charles steps out from the shadows: Adoring fans? I always have time for them. He smiled sinisterly as he looks at Sarah.

Sarah, Sam, and Dean all notice the air change as he emerged from the shadows.

Charles lifts Sarah’s hand and kisses it: A pleasure, My Lady.

Sarah returns a smile: It was quite the performance tonight, Mr. Charles.

Charles proud of himself: It was great, wasn’t it?

The Camera focuses on Sarah.

Sarah starts to walk around the stage. She walks slowly towards Dean. The skirt of the dress swishing softly as she walks: Oh yes. I was VERY impressed. It was highly, how shall I say, CREATIVE of you to add those oh so minor touches NOT included in the novella. She walks around Dean and slips the knife she hoped he carried behind his back without him ever noticing. The camera only shows Sarah touching Dean’s back lightly. Sarah kept her hands behind her back the whole time as she emerged from the other side of Dean.

The camera returns to Charles. Charles, too proud of his work to notice her actions, continues: Thank you. It is so good to finally find someone who can appreciate my work as an artist.

Sarah walking softly towards Charles, brightens her eyes: Oh, definitely! It was absolutely brilliant! No one else noticed it! It was, I dare say, FLAWLESS. She now stood right in front of Charles, smiling.

Camera shows just Sarah and Charles faces. Charles looks at Sarah smugly: Thank you. I try to be as flawless as possible.

Sarah sighed: It’s really just too bad, however. She forms a sad smile.

Charles puzzled: Too bad for what, dear?

Camera shows as Sarah jabs the knife into Charles. Sarah jabs the knife deep into him still with her sad smile: That you were not flawless enough for me to NOT see it. Sarah takes a step back as the knife takes its full effect on him. Dean realizes that Sarah had somehow taken the knife from him without him even knowing it. He felt behind his back to confirm it was not there.

El Director hands Sarah his handkerchief so she may wipe the blade off. She walks over to Dean and hands him the knife back.

Dean dumbfounded: How the-?

Sam laughing: Wow. I guess she knows how to hunt. Sam pats Dean on the back.

El Director: Thank you, Sarah.

Sarah walks back to El Director. Sarah: Not a problem, dear. Just next time, call me before it gets like this again?

El Director smiling, nods: I will.

Dean: But… I didn’t get to do anything! He finally blurted out.

Sarah walks back over to Dean. She places his head in between her hands: Awe, sweetie. But you did. When I walked behind you, I was hoping that you placed the knife behind your back. I was right. I can’t really hide very much in this dress, now can I? I grabbed it from you and hid it in the folds of the skirt. She smiles sweetly and gives him a kiss on the cheek. Then she heads towards the exit of the stage with El Director.

Dean grinning: Okay, I guess I kinda helped.

Sam pats Dean on the back, smirking: Nice one dude. He follows to the exit.

Dean to Sam: Eat me. Then follows them out.

El Director escorts them out of the opera house.

* * * The Next Day * * *

Sam, Dean, and Sarah are driving around in the impala. Suddenly Sarah leans forward from the back seat: Stop here!

Dean: Why?

Sarah: I’m not sure. Something is telling me we need to stop here. So, stop here.

Dean pulls the impala over. Sarah practically jumps out of the car before Dean has a chance to fully stop it. Sam and Dean get out as well. Sarah is slowly looking around.

Sam: What is it?

Sarah shakes her head still looking around: I’m not sure yet. Sarah walks over towards the woods to their right. She points. There’s something over this way. Sarah takes off into the woods.

Sam follows Sarah while Dean goes to the trunk to grab something first. Just in case. They go a short way into the woods before Sarah starts running. The camera shows Sarah’s view of someone lying on the ground, unmoving. Sam follows her.

The camera shows as Sarah sits on the ground and slips Castiel’s head onto her lap. Sarah: Sam! Dean! It’s Cassie! She strokes his hair. Cassie? Cassie? Can you hear me?

Dean finally catches up to them. He looks at the scene in front of him.

Sam looks at Dean: Look who we found.

Dean: Is he alive?

Sarah: Looks like it. But he is hurt badly.

Dean and Sam lift Castiel slowly. They carry him back to the impala. Sarah slides into the back seat first. They lay Castiel along the back seat with his head resting on Sarah’s lap. Dean and Sam get into the front. Dean speeds back to the bunker.

* * * At the Bunker * * *

They laid Castiel on Sarah’s bed. Sarah has done nothing but stay by Castiel’s side for days since they had found him. Sarah has been racking her head on how to help their injured angel friend. We see Sarah sitting quietly in a chair next to the bed, staring off into space.

Dean enters the room with a tray of food: Sarah, you really should eat something. It’s been hours.

Sarah just sits there staring at Castiel laying there before her. She responds distantly: I’ll eat when Cassie wakes.

Dean doesn’t bother to argue at this point with her. He leaves the tray on the table and leaves the room. The camera shows Sam and Dean at the doorway. Dean shakes his head at Sam who is now standing in the doorway to check on her.

Sam: Sarah, I can sit by him if you want to get some rest.

Sarah: No thank you. I am fine right here. You can stay if you wish.

Sam looks at Dean with concern. Dean shakes his head. They both leave the room.

Sometime later, Sarah gets up from the chair. She moves to the bed. She lifts up Castiel’s unmoving arm and lies down next to him. Side by side like when she was younger. She hugs his hand in hers. Sarah whispers: Oh Cassie, why won’t you wake up? I am here now. Your little pet has found you. You are safe. She closes her eyes. A tear trickles down her cheek. She softly recites ‘Golden Apples of the Sun’ (reprise) (Paul winter and friend Celtic Solstice):

“Though I am old with wandering, Through hollow lands and hilly lands, I will find out where she has gone, And kiss her lips and take her hands; And walk among long dappled grass, And pluck till time and times are done. The silver apples of the moon, The golden apples of the sun.” After she whispers: Oh Cassie, I have tried everything I can think of to heal you. Why can’t I heal you? She falls asleep like that.

Dean sits on the edge of the chair Sarah had been sitting in. Dean whispers to Sarah to wake up. She smiles at him. Sarah takes his hand and places it over hers and Castiel’s. Sam is behind Dean. Something compels him to do the same. At that moment, they feel energy flow through their hands. They all look at each other. Castiel’s eyes open.

Sam places a hand on Dean’s shoulder: Dean.

Dean stands up. Sam and Dean help Sarah up. Sarah sees Castiel has wakened. She throws herself on Castiel in a hug, crying out: Cassie! Oh, thank the Goddess!

Castiel, confused: Pet? Where am I? What happened?

Dean, smiling: It’s good to see you, man.

Sam: Yeah, Cas. You had us worried there for a while.

Sarah sits up: We found you in the woods. She leans towards Castiel and whispers to him: Cassie, I can’t see your wings. What happened?

Castiel: I got tricked. I will fix this. He sits up in the bed. Nothing happens. He realizes that Sarah is right. His wings were gone. Which meant no powers.

Sarah concerned now: Cassie? Your powers are gone, too. What happened?

Castiel looks from Sarah to Dean and then Sam.

Dean: Who tricked you, Cas?

Sam: You don’t have to do this alone.

Castiel takes a moment in his thoughts. He lies: I don’t remember.

* * * Castiel’s Flashback * * *

It is some months back before they find Castiel. We see Castiel back in the woods where Sarah, Dean, and Sam found him in. Castiel is there to meet with a fallen angel brother of his. He wants to convince him that it is okay to go back upstairs, even if it is to just check in and say he wants to stay on earth as is.

Castiel: You don’t have to do it this way, you know.

Mitch: I won’t go back. He pulls out an angel sword for defense.

Castiel: It’s just temporary. We just want to make sure everyone is okay.

Mitch: No, you want to retrain us.

Castiel confused: Retrain you? Why would we want to retrain you? Retrain you for what? Castiel takes a step forward.

Mitch avoiding the question: I want to stay here. I don’t want to go back.

Castiel nods: That’s fine. He puts his hands up to show he is defenseless. He wants his brother to trust him. I will report back you’re-

Hershel appears suddenly. This catches Castiel and Mitch off guard. Mitch attacks without thinking in defense.

Castiel: No! We don’t need it to be this way! Castiel jumps in between the two to stop things from getting any worse. He is hurt in the process.

Mitch flees the scene while Hershel is distracted by Castiel.

Hershel looks at Castiel: Why are you letting them just leave? We need everyone upstairs and home. We must all return home.

Castiel, covering his wound as he stands back up slowly: We can choose what we want to do. It’s called free will, Hershel. If they choose to remain here on Earth, then it is their choice. I will not force them to return home. That is our mission. Some of us may enjoy living like the hairless apes. He makes to walk past Hershel.

Hershel laughs at Castiel: You are a fool, Castiel. He steps closer to Castiel. It is a wonder that you have lasted as long as you have because you are a fool. He adds to Castiel’s injury to inflame it more. Castiel falls to the ground. Hershel proceeds to remove the Grace that is within Castiel. Castiel cannot fight him off because of his injury. You don’t deserve this.

Castiel in pain from the mortal wound but also from the betrayal of another brother: No. Why are you doing this? You are no better than the others if you do this. Castiel fades out quickly because of the combination of both attacks. He is left lying on the ground.

* * * End Flashback * * *

Sarah hugs Castiel again: We are here to help you, Cassie. We will find the one who took your wings away from you!

Castiel tries to fake a smile: Thank you.

* * * Outside of the Bunker the Next Day * * *

(Blue Skies by Blue October playing. The camera is a bird’s eye view slowly zooming in on Castiel and Sarah cloud watching until we can hear their conversation) the bunker is somewhere on their right.

Sarah and Castiel are outside lying on the grass in opposite directions with their heads next to each other. They are each randomly pointing out shapes they find in the clouds. They have been at it for hours. Laughing and chattering away. Sam and Dean enter the scene from Sarah’s right.

Sam: There you two are. We’ve been wondering where you two went off to.

Dean: What ARE you doing?

Sarah smirking: What does it LOOK like we are doing?

Dean: Staring at a bunch of nothing?

Sam punches Dean on the arm: Ouch!

Sam looks at Dean like that was the dumbest thing ever to have left his mouth: Cloud watching.

Sarah smiles: Come. Lay. Join. She points up at a cloud. Oh look! That one’s a flower!

Castiel sadly: I could have made that one look better.

Sarah: Cassie, It’s alright. They are still beautiful creations with or without your extra little help. JUST ENJOY THEM. Sarah smiles to the sky.

Castiel nods: I suppose you are right. I will try to just enjoy them. He looks back up to the sky.

Sam lays down on the other side of Sarah, parallel to Castiel. Once Sam is situated: Wow! There are a lot of shapes today!

Dean remains standing there, watching the three of them: You mean to tell me this is what you’ve been doing this whole time?

Sarah: Dean, lie down and JOIN US. Give it a try for once in your life. Besides, I think we can all use a break for a while.

Dean gives in and lies down next to Sarah. Camera focuses in on Sarah and Dean. Dean looks at Sarah: So, what do I do now?

Sarah looks back at him, smiling: Are you telling me that you have forgotten how to cloud watch? We used to do this all the time.

Dean gives her a yeah I forgot look.

Sarah laughs: Just look up at the clouds and yell out the shapes that you see, silly.

Dean: That’s it?

Sarah smiles: That’s it.

Dean nods: I can handle that. Camera pulls out to show all four once again. They chat while still staring up at the clouds.

Sam: There’s a dolphin!

Sarah: There’s Falcor! Do you remember when we used to pretend to ride on Falcor, Sammy? And we’d pretend we would swoop in and save Dean from whatever boring thing he was working on? Sarah gives a small laugh.

Dean gets up on one elbow and looks at them. He says defensively: What? Why would you need to save me?

Sam laughing at the memory: Yeah! That was always fun to do.

Dean looking at both of them: Again, why did you have to save me?

Sarah looks at Dean: We were only playing. We were little kids then, what else was there to do?

Sam: Yeah, Dean. We would be playing when you were off doing whatever with dad.

Dean: Oh, okay. If that was all it was. Dean lays back on the grass. Dean looks up at the clouds. Dean getting excited now: I see those! I see a shotgun! Proudly smiling.

Sam disbelieving: You do not.

(Camera angle from above as they all turn their heads to the side)

Dean: Yeah I do. It’s right there! Dean points it out to the other three. They all turn their heads slightly to see it better. They nod their heads to agree that they see it, too.

Sarah: I guess it looks kinda like it.

Sam: Alright, we’ll give you that one. I see a snail.

Sarah smiles. Castiel, Sam, and Dean continue to call out naming of the clouds. Sarah closes her eyes to savor the moment. It’s a good day if she can get them to forget everything just for a short while. The sound of their voices chattering away like that makes her drift off to sleep.

Sometime later, the three realize that Sarah has passed out.

Dean notices that Sarah has been quiet for some time now: Sarah? Sarah! Dean sits up quickly. The other two jump to their feet as well. Dean lifts up Sarah and carries her inside. Sam gets the door. Castiel quietly follows them. Dean lays her gently on her bed. Sam sits next to her to see what could be wrong.

Camera focuses on Castiel at the doorway. Castiel sadly from the doorway: This is my fault.

Camera then shows Sam and Dean. Sam and Dean turn to look at Castiel.

Dean: Don’t you say that, man. This is NOT your fault.

Sam shaking his head: Why do you think that this is your fault?

Castiel: She has exhausted all of her energy healing me. It is my fault. He turns to leave the room.

Dean looks at Sam as he gets up: I got this.

Sam makes sure Sarah is comfortable on the bed and leaves the room as well.

* * * In the Main Hall * * *

Dean follows Castiel into the room: Cas, man. This is not your fault. She WANTED to heal you. She wouldn’t have done this if she didn’t want to. You know that, right?

Castiel: But she knows the consequences of this. The more she does- Castiel stops in his thought. He can’t say any more about this. He promised Sarah he wouldn’t tell anyone. He turns away from Dean.

Dean getting concerned: The more she does what, Cas? He turns Castiel around by his left shoulder. He talks sternly as he gets more concerned. What happens to her?

Castiel sighs: The more she does things like this, the longer she remains unconscious like this until…

Dean has worry in his voice. Dean gets closer to Castiel: Until WHAT, Cas?

Castiel looks Dean in the eyes and says seriously: Until she no longer wakes up.

Dean takes a step back. He runs his hands through his hair: Then we won’t let her do that (He pauses for a moment to grasp his words) stuff anymore. Ever.

Sam: Do what anymore? Sam enters the room.

Dean turns to Sam: The more Sarah heals, the more likely she will never awaken again when she slips into this, this thing she is in right now. It must be like a curse or something. Why else would something like this happen just because she heals someone?

Now Sam starts to run his hands through his hair. Both Sam and Dean start to pace the room.

Sam: There has to be a way to fix this. Sam goes to find something in a book that might help.

Dean: I’m going for a walk or something.

Castiel is standing left alone in the room. He goes back to Sarah and sits next to her. He will wait until she wakes up. Whenever that will be.

* * * As Sarah Sleeps * * *

(Camera is from Sarah’s line of vision.) It is a sunny morning. Sarah looks around her. Sarah finds herself in a meadow of wild flowers. It is quiet and serene. There is a woman standing there waiting for her. The woman smiles and opens her arms to her. (Camera changes to show both women.) They hug.

Sarah: My Lady, what happened?

The Lady Morgaine: You are resting, child. You did a selfless act healing Castiel the way that you did. It drained you. Morgaine strokes Sarah’s hair.

Sarah sadly: I suppose it did.

The Lady Morgaine gestures to a bench: What troubles you, child?

Sarah: The vision will come to pass now, won’t it? There is no stopping it now, is there?

They sit on the bench. Morgaine wraps her arm around Sarah’s shoulders.

The Lady Morgaine: Yes child. But as with any vision, not all is set in stone.

Sarah: What do you mean, Mother? She looks at her confused.

The Lady Morgaine smiles. She runs her hand gently through Sarah’s hair: The Fates do not chisel ALL into stone. Stories CAN have a different ending. Only you can determine the ending that you want. If you want it bad enough.

Sarah: So then, by sharing the vision finally, maybe Dean, Sam and Cassie can help me in changing it? That the outcome I see when I sleep can be changed? They don’t have to die after all? Sarah takes the Lady Morgaine’s hands.

The Lady Morgaine smiles: Of course, child. You do what you have to do to change the vision to what you want. I can help you as well. But only if you want me to.

Sarah’s heart lifted: How can you help me?

The Lady Morgaine: I can enter and you become my vessel until the vision is completed. This way I am with you to ensure any help I may be able to offer. I will give you time to think on this.

Sarah looking at her: Lady Morgaine, I am always your vessel. You have shown me nothing but kindness. If you can offer me any help in keeping these three safe, I welcome it with open arms. I thank you now just in the offering.

The Lady Morgaine: But I still need to ask for permission. I will come in a day or so, when the time comes closer. (Camera focuses in on Morgaine and Sarah) She kisses Sarah on her third eye. You must go now. Your friends worry for you.

* * * Sarah’s Room * * *

(Camera focus in on Sarah’s eyes)

Sarah slowly opens her eyes. She sees Castiel sitting beside her. Sarah whispers: Cassie. She lifts her hand to stroke his cheek.

(Camera pulls out to focus on Sarah and Castiel)

Castiel leans towards her: I was concerned for you. Are you alright now?

Sarah smiles faintly: Yes. I was with the Lady Morgaine. She gave me hope with my vision.

Castiel smiles: That is wonderful news. Should I go get Sam and Dean?

Sarah nods: Please do.

Castiel hurries off to get them. Sarah slowly sits up and rests her eyes some more while she waits.

* * *

(Camera focuses in on Sarah’s door)

A few moments later, Sam and Dean push each other through the door. They are both trying to get through at the same time.

(Camera pulls outward to show Sarah on her bed and angled to show the boys in the door.)

Sarah with her eyes still closed: Boys, only one may pass through a narrow doorway at a time.

They look at each other. Dean shoves Sam and goes through first.

Sam: Jerk.

Dean: Bitch.

Dean sits to Sarah’s left, Sam to her right.

Sam: How are you feeling?

Sarah takes a deep breath: Better than before, I suppose.

Camera focuses on Castiel. Castiel from across the room: This is my fault.

Sarah looks over. She pats the bed for Castiel to come: It is not your fault. I would have done it no matter what. You should know that much about me by now. I am a healer. This is what I do. I will always do whatever it takes. Cassie, this is never your fault. Believe me when I say this. This never has and never will be your fault. It is who I am. I have come to accept this and so must you.

Castiel nods his understanding: I do believe you.

Sarah: Good. To all three. While I slept, I visited with the Lady Morgaine.

Sam and Dean look at Sarah questioningly.

Sam: You don’t mean Morgaine LeFaye?

Dean: Wait, what? Like in King Arthur? He gives a grave look.

Sarah: The very one.

Dean: What?!

Sam gives Dean a look and tries to ignore his response: What did you talk about?

Sarah: She gave me hope about that nightmare, my vision. She said it is always possible to change an ending to a book.

Dean laughed: Oh, do we know how true THAT is!

Sarah gives Dean a questioning look.

Sam shakes his head: What Dean MEANT to say was, was there anything specific that might help us in changing it?

Sarah thought about it for a moment, then shook her head no: Sorry, not that I can recall.

Dean: Are you SURE?

Sarah narrows her eyes: If I remembered I would tell you. So, no.

Dean sits back and puts his hands up: Okay, I was just checking.

They sat there in silence for a moment.

Sarah broke the awkward silence: I’m kinda hungry.

Dean sprung up: I’ll be right back.

Sarah raises her eye brows. She watches him leave the room. She takes a deep breath. She looks over at Sam: What happened to him? He used to believe me when I would say that is all I can recall. You guys know I have nothing to hide from you, right?

Sam toying with how to say what he needed to say: I have tended to leave information out at times throughout the years.

Sarah nods: I see. Dean feels left out when you leave him out of the loop like that. So he’s going to feel like he needs to dig out more information just to be certain.

Sam: But sometimes it’s better to not let him know everything.

Sarah: Like how he tried to keep you safe from the demons you now hunt?

Sam nods in agreement. Dean returns with a tray of food. He places it on the bed next to Sarah and sits next to her. Sarah starts with the burger Dean made. She takes a bite and holds the burger out in front of Dean. He snags a bite of it.

Sarah: So I have been thinking of a plan.

Sam: Oh really? What kind of plan?

Sarah takes another bite and shares again with Dean: To get Adam out of the cage so I can heal him.

Dean with a mouthful of burger: But won’t healing him like that kill you? He’s been in there longer than Sam has. They’ve had time to really screw with him.

Sarah: Listen, it eats you two up being reminded that he’s still in there. It won’t be that bad if we have some help.

Sam: Help from who?

Sarah paused for a moment. She takes a deep breath: From Mr. Crowley. She closes her eyes and braces for their responses.

Dean chocked on his bite of burger: Are you NUTS? You want to enlist help from the King of Hell??

Sam: Oh, no. We are NOT asking for help from Crowley. Sam crosses his arms as to say no. NEVER going to happen.

Sarah: I don’t see much other options. Do you? Just think about it for a little bit.

Dean: Think about what? Getting sucked into a contract with a clause where he comes for our souls again? No, thank you.

Sarah: It won’t be like that. I promise. We need to find where the cage is hidden. Besides, The Lady can enter me and we will have her support as well. I am her vessel, after all.

They both give her a look asking her why. Dean wants to argue. Sarah holds up a hand to cut him off before he gets started.

Sarah: I’m getting tired. I need some rest.

Castiel stands up. He gives Sam and Dean a look: Of course, Pet.

Sam, Dean, and Castiel leave the room.

* * * The Main Hall * * *

(Sam, Dean, and Castiel)

Dean is pacing the room: Can you believe her? Thinking we can just go ask The King of Hell for HELP? THE KING OF HELL of ALL people?!?

Sam: Dean, have a seat.

Dean stubbornly: No.

Sam sternly: Dean.

Dean pulls out a chair and plops himself down. He crosses his arms in front of his chest and looks at Sam: Its suicide. You know that, right?

Sam: Well, maybe. But, maybe not. If we have Morgaine on our side, maybe we have a chance.

Dean: That’s another thing. He points his finger at Sam. I am not letting anyone enter Sarah and using her as a meat suit. No way. No how.

Sam: And how was letting Gadriel into me any different? Shall we go down THAT road?

Dean shoots him a look.

Castiel: It is her choice, not yours Dean.

Dean shoots to Castiel: Who’s asking you?

Castiel: Dean, it’s her choice. I know you are concerned about this. But, it will be fine. SHE will be fine.

Dean: Screw that! It will NOT be fine. There is no need for it. She does not need to be possessed by anyone.

Sam: She never said possessing. She said enter. It sounds like there is a difference.

Dean: It’s ALL THE SAME THING. No matter how you sugar coat it, it all equals to the same damn thing. They go inside. Things go wonky. That’s it. Not going happen.

Sarah has entered the room at this point unknown to Dean. Sam and Castiel have however. Sam scratches the back of his ear and Castiel stands straighter.

Sarah sorely: Why don’t you ask me for my opinion first before you make the decision for me?

Dean turns around: Sarah! I am only thinking of you, Baby Girl. I know how these things can go. It’s never good. Something always goes wrong. I don’t want you to get hurt.

Sarah walks up to Dean: For your information, She has entered me before. I am Her vessel. I am Her messenger. I have never had any problems before. She has shown me no harm. Why should I fear Her now?

Dean looks at Sarah dumb founded: What do you mean?

Sarah: Sometimes my visions are directly through her. She comes, She shares what I need to be shown, then She goes. It is that simple. So what would the difference be if She hung out for a spell?

Sam looks at Dean: She has a point, you know.

Castiel: It is her choice, Dean.

Dean: Fine! Considering that I am apparently outnumbered on this. But, for the record, I STILL don’t like this.

Sarah gives Dean a kiss on the cheek: It will be fine, I promise. Besides, this is how I can change the ending of that dream. And for the record, no one said you had to like the idea.

* * * A Few Days Later * * *

Sarah is sleeping. She is in the meadow again. The Lady Morgaine is there waiting for her.

Sarah: Hello, Mother.

The Lady Morgaine: Hello, child. How are you feeling?

Sarah: I am feeling more at peace with the vision. I think with your help, I may have a chance to change it.

The Lady Morgaine: So then you will let me enter?

Sarah: Yes, Mother. You have never shown me harm before. Why would this be any different?

The Lady Morgaine smiles: I promise it will be just like any other time. She kisses Sarah’s third eye.

Sarah awakens. She feels the energy of Morgaine flowing within her. She smiles.

* * * That Following Morning * * *

Sarah enters the main hall. Castiel and Sam are in the room.

Castiel without thinking: Good morning, Lady Morgaine. Good morning, Sarah.

The Lady Morgaine through Sarah: Good morning, Castiel. It is good to see you are well.

Castiel: Sarah does good work.

The Lady Morgaine through Sarah: She has been taught well. She has been a good student.

Sam watches quietly. Then he speaks up: You may want to have just Sarah at the surface around Dean. He’s not too keen on this sharing a body thing right now.

Sarah nods. The Lady Morgaine through Sarah: Understood. We will ease him into the idea. I will only come out as needed.

Dean enters the room with food: Who’s hungry?

They each grab something off of the tray.

Sarah: So have we found where Crowley has been hiding lately?

Sam: It looks like an old abandoned warehouse, which fits him lately.

Sarah raises her eye brows: When do we want to go see him?

Dean: I thought we had to wait for your friend there to come back?

Sarah: Oh, She has come. She is here now, somewhat. So we can go at any time.

Dean’s eyes narrow: So who am I talking to right now?

Sarah leans closer to Dean: Dean, it’s me. Morgaine will only surface if we need her. Promise.

Dean raises his eye brow: How can I be sure?

Sarah smirks and grabs his face. She licks the side of his face. She whispers in Dean’s ear: Mine. Sarah sits back smiling: Would She do that? She steps back and winks at him: By the way, STILL reigning champ!

Sam laughs loudly: She got you good, man!

Castiel confused: How is that funny?

Dean to Sam: Bite me. To Sarah: Fine. It’s really you. So what’s the plan?

Sam whispers to Castiel: It’s a game we played as kids. It’s like a small “war” between us three. Sarah’s been really good at getting Dean.

Sarah shrugs: We go talk to Mr. Crowley.

Sam: We can’t just walk in there, you know.

Sarah: Why not? We don’t mean him any harm. We just want to talk with him.

Sam: With all that we’ve done to each other over the years, he might not like the looks of us walking through the front door.

Sarah holds up her index finger: Ah. But, there’s a difference here.

Dean and Sam look at Sarah, puzzled.

Sarah smiles big and points to herself: You have me.

Sam: And HOW is that different?

Sarah takes both of their hands: Because TOGETHER, we never fail. Together we manage to always succeed. Look at what we did for Cassie.

Dean and Sam both look at her concerned.

Dean shakes his head: Do you mean to tell me that we have some sort of physic crap together?

Sarah’s smile turns into a frown at that comment: Kind of?

Dean starts pacing: Oh this is just too much.

Sam: Now just hold on a moment, Dean. That would explain how we were always able to do some of that stuff as kids. And even now.

Dean turns to Sam: Not you too, Sammy.

Sarah turns to leave the room.

Dean: Where are you going?

Sarah turns back to Dean: You are angry about this fact. I am going to my room until you can wrap your thick skull around this and face it. Please let me know when we are ready to go see Mr. Crowley. Sarah turns back and exits the room.

Sam sarcastically: Way to support her, Dean. You were always so sensitive to her feelings with this stuff.

Dean: You don’t actually buy that crap, do you?

Sam: With everything that we have seen and done, do you really have to ask that? You were there when Cas was healed.

Dean sighed: I don’t know, Sammy. I just don’t know.

Castiel: I will go check on Sarah. You finish this debate. Castiel leaves the room.

* * * Sarah’s Room * * *

(Sarah and Castiel)

Sarah is lying on her bed, hugging her pillow. Castiel knocks softly and enters slowly.

Sarah into the pillow: Is he really that closed off to this? Is he that oblivious to the energy that flows through us when we are together?

Castiel moves closer to the bed: I think he is scared. He is unsure of what it is he feels while YOU are so sure.

Sarah lifts her head from the pillow: How can I make him see?

Castiel: Give him time, Pet. In time he will learn.

Sarah: I hope so.

Castiel: He always does.

Sarah sits up and hugs Castiel: You always know how to make me feel better, Cassie.

Castiel smiles: That’s my job.

Sarah smirks and pulls away from the hug: PART of your job.

Castiel smiling back: Yes, you are right.

Camera zooms in on the door. Dean enters the doorway. He pokes his head around the door. He has been standing outside waiting for the right moment to interrupt: May I come in?

Camera zooms back out. Sarah: Of course.

Dean enters the room. He stands there awkwardly. He keeps looking at his feet.

Sarah: Will you excuse us, Cassie?

Castiel: Oh! You want to be alone. I will go see what Sam is doing. Castiel leaves the room.

Dean is still standing in the middle of the room.

Sarah pats the bed: Sit.

Dean obeys, glad that she said something first. He sits beside her on the bed: I am sorry about out there…

Sarah holds her hand up to cut him off: It’s alright. It can be a lot to take in. But, with all that you have been through? You always had blind faith with your father. But what I don’t understand is why do you not have any faith that we can do this? She takes his hands into hers. Sarah continues: Did you not feel the energy flowing through the three of us when we healed Cassie? Do you not realize that that was us?

Dean trying to understand better: Is that what happened?

Sarah: Yes, Dean. Just like when you fell from that tree. Sammy and I healed you together.

Dean looks at Sarah confused: What do you mean?

Sarah closed her eyes and took a deep breath. She opened her eyes again and looks at him: Dean, you almost died that day. Her eyes narrow: You know that, right?

Dean looks at her more confused.

Sarah frowns: Sam never told you? She takes a deep breath in. That day you fell from the tree, you snapped your neck, not just broke your arm. Sam and I healed you together somehow. That is why my family decided to leave. So no one else would get hurt.

Dean stares at her: I only remember breaking my arm. Did I die or something?

Sarah looked down. She closes her eyes. She looks back at Dean: I am not sure. But, when Sam and I touched you, this light appeared and we felt an energy around us. Next we knew, your eyes opened and you were okay. I still don’t know what happened that day. All I know is that we did it together. As far as I am concerned, that is all that really matters.

Dean runs his hand through his hair: Wow. I don’t remember that at all. I wonder why Sam never told me.

Sarah: Probably because of the fact that you never really actually listened to him sometimes?

Dean shoots her a look.

Sarah shrugs: It’s true. Maybe he did try. Or, he just knew how you would be and never bothered to try.

Dean looks down for a moment: Maybe you’re right. Maybe it’s better that I found out now. You know? Well after the fact.

Sarah smirks: Maybe. Sarah pats his hands: Now can you see why I think we can do this?

Dean points at her: Just remember, I can’t be going around having blind faith on everything.

Sarah giggles: Agreed.

They hug.

* * * Scene Change * * *

(Dean, Sarah, Sam, and Castiel)

The camera shows from above and goes in on the impala. They are in a deserted parking lot of a warehouse. The four of them step out of the impala.

Dean: Are you sure of this place, Sammy?

Sam: Yes, this is where everything pointed us to.

Sarah takes a deep breath: Let’s do this.

Dean: But Cas can’t go in. Crowley always has it warded against Angels.

Sarah smirked. She walks over to Dean. She bops him on his nose: Cassie has no Angel powers. HUMAN as can be. He can enter with no problem. Wards or no wards, they won’t work on him.

Dean smiled at this thought: I forgot about that.

Sam walks around the impala and pats Dean’s shoulder while handing him: Let’s go.

Sam, Dean, Sarah, and Castiel start to the door. There are no guards for once. Dean looks around concerned about this. They go down the halls carefully. They find Crowley in a large room by himself.

Crowley: Hello boys. Crowley notices Sarah. He tilts his head slightly. He looks at Dean: Who’s the witch whore?

Sam defensively: She’s not a whore.

Crowley looks closer at Sarah: No? Smugly smiles: Well, maybe not yet. To Sarah: But give it time, it’s always just a matter of time.

Dean: We want to talk with you.

Crowley: You’ll have to catch me first. From the shadows behind Crowley emerges the Trickster, Gabriel, who they thought was dead. Dean, Sam and Castiel know him all too well. You remember my friend, boys. Don’t you? With a snap of his fingers, Crowley was gone.

Dean under his breath: Damn it!

They were left with the trickster.

Sarah: Who’s this?

Dean: One of the biggest pains in my ass, that’s who.

Gabriel snaps his fingers. In that instant, Sarah is left alone. Sarah’s mind flips to her dream.

Sarah whispers: No! This can’t be happening!

The room changes and she’s standing on a stage. Sarah looks around the room. There is a microphone with a single spotlight: What am I supposed to do?

Sarah hears The Lady Morgaine: Go up and sing.

Sarah goes up to the microphone: Here goes nothing.

Music begins to play. She looks around again. Sarah looks oddly at the microphone. She recognizes the song. She begins to sing along with the music. It’s ‘Don’t Know What You Got (Till It’s Gone)’ by Cinderella. Sarah closes her eyes, not the song she‘d have picked but at least she knew it. She envisions a crowd of people. She’s not afraid anymore. (She sings at about 1:20 into the song when she starts).

The Lady Morgaine: See, you CAN do this.

As she sings a few lines, a light fades in to view in the corner. She looks closely. It’s Dean, chained to the wall. Sarah runs to him: Dean! She reaches him. Are you hurt?

Dean: No. Give me a hand?

Sarah tries to yank the chains free to no avail. Another song starts up.

Sarah: Seriously? Another one? WHO is this guy?

Dean: He’s a trickster.

Sarah realizes the song that is playing is for Dean. It’s “Separate Ways” by Journey. She points to Dean: Well, it’s your turn now, big guy. Sarah smirks.

Dean starts to sing while Sarah still fights the chains free. While she is struggling with them, Dean: Will you hurry up?

Sarah mutters: I’m trying. Sarah stops (1:15 into the song) and listens to the song.

Sarah: That’s it! She jumps in excitement. Dean looks at her confused. Sarah goes nose to nose with Dean. You are a genius! She throws her hands on his face and kisses him. Energy flows through them. Sarah steps back and lifts her hands to the chains. Sarah smirks big as she looks down at her handiwork to be. The camera shows Sarah’s hands close to the chains glow faintly. The chains snap apart. Dean falls off the wall onto Sarah. The song ends. Camera shows from the floor angle. They are lying on the ground nose to nose again, breathing hard from the fall.

Dean: I told you I’d go down fighting.

Sarah wraps her arms around his neck laughing: We did it!

Dean helps Sarah to her feet: What do you say we find the others and get the hell out of Dodge?

Sarah smiles: Sounds good to me!

The single microphone appears again. They look at each other.

Dean: Who’s up next?

A soft tune flows into the room. Sarah frowns: Me. She walks to the spotlight. She turns to Dean: Watch for Cassie.

Dean looks at her questioningly. Slowly, the music becomes louder. It’s ‘Somewhere I Belong’ by Linkin Park (about 2:40 into the song is where she starts to sing). Sarah closes her eyes and begins to sing. Castiel appears at Dean’s feet.

Dean: Cas! Are you okay?

Castiel nods. He is sore, but he can at least move. Sarah bent down to make sure Castiel was okay. Dean nods to Sarah.

Sarah: I WILL get Sammy. Sarah stands up and closes her eyes. She sings some more of the song, but no Sammy.

Dean shrugs: Maybe we need to do a different song? One for each person?

Sarah shrugs: I hope so. She looks at Dean: I WILL get Sam back, if it’s the last thing I do.

Dean nods: I know you will, Baby Girl. I know.

The spotlight appears again with the microphone again. Sarah walks up to it and wrap she fingers around its pole. She closes her eyes, waiting for the next song “In the End” by Linkin Park begins. Sarah lets the flood of emotions take over her. She skips to the last few bars of the song. Sarah falls to her knees in what she feels as defeat. Her head is bent low to the ground. Her blonde hair falling around her face to hide her tears. She feels a hand on her right shoulder.

Dean: Sarah, look.

Sarah looks up. In front of them is Sam. She closes her eyes in relief. A tear trickles down her cheek. Dean helps her up and they rush to Sam.

Sarah: Sam!

Dean lifts Sam up slowly.

Sam nods his head: I’m good. I’ll be fine.

Dean looks at him: Let’s get out of here.

Another song begins to play. It’s “East Bound and Down” by Jerry Reed.

Sarah: I think that’s easier said than done right now.

Dean under his breath: Damn it! Dean turns around in a circle with his hands up in the air: What do you want?!

A thought pops into Sarah’s head. She looks at Sam. He has the same idea. He nods at her.

Sarah: Dean, I’ve got a plan. Just follow my lead, and keep Cassie safe.

The Lady Morgaine: It just might work.

They stand together. Dean, Sarah, and Sam join hands. Castiel places a hand on each Dean and Sam’s shoulders.

They all step together. Sarah smirks. The next song is still playing. Sarah smiles big and confidently begins to sing. But, it’s not what is playing. Sarah is overriding the song. She is singing ‘Devil Went Down to Georgia’. (about 2:48 into the song is where she starts) (where East bound and down is at 1:42 into the song)Slowly, the trickster fades into view.

Sarah excited: Its working! Keep singing. Sarah releases from the group as they get closer to the Trickster. Sarah joins Sam and Dean’s hands together behind her. Sarah stares deep into the trickster’s eyes, continuing to sing her chosen song. She takes a few steps towards him. Gabriel’s eyes perk up in interest of what Sarah is doing. She is nearing the end of the song. (Camera focus on Sarah’s foot as it stomps on the floor) She lifts her chin up slightly and slams her heal down as she ends the song, “I’ve told you once, you son of a bitch, I’m the best there’s ever been.”

That was the ticket out of the trap. Gabriel realized that they had turned his game around on him. With a snap, the four of them are flown out of the building.

* * * Outside the Warehouse, Parking Lot * * *

(‘Lighting Crashes’ by Live plays. Part where ‘the angel opens her eyes, camera on Sarah’s eyes as they open.)

They find themselves back in the parking lot they started in. Dean looks around. (Camera from Dean’s vison) He sees Sarah lying unconscious on the ground first: No! No! No! Sarah! He yells in a panicked voice crawling towards her. He lifts her head slightly.

Sam came from the other side. His eyes start to well up. They look at each other’s dirt covered faces. (Camera pulls out to show all in scene)

The Lady Morgaine from behind Sam: I can help, but I need your help to do so.

Dean looks up. Next to Sam stands a tall woman. She appeared out of nowhere. Her long brown hair flowed behind her. Her face was solemn, almost saddened by the scene around them.

Dean becomes defensive: Who are you? He stands up and stares at her.

The Lady Morgaine: You already know who I am, Dean. That toss jolted me out of Sarah too early. It was not the way I had intended on leaving my vessel. We must fix her. But, we must hurry.

Dean’s anger and hurt welled up towards the surface. That tough guy big brother came out. He glared at her: What do you mean?

Sam grabbed the Lady Morgaine’s hand in his. He still knelt next to Sarah: Can we help her Lady Morgaine? How can we help? His eyes pleaded with her.

The Lady Morgaine smiles as she pats Sam’s head: Yes, Samuel. But, we will need all four of us. She motions to Castiel who even as a fallen angel can still be useful. Castiel comes closer to them.

Castiel: How can I be of use, Lady? I have no powers anymore. He reminds her. His stolen grace has burnt out, but he wants to keep that to himself. Let them think he is just fallen again.

She smiles and shakes her head: They can cast you out, but you still have a power deep within yourself. Come.

Dean and Sam stay where they are. Castiel positions himself at Sarah’s feet. Castiel felt sad that his pet is like this. He wants to look away. But, he also wants to help her in any way possible. If The Lady said it could be done, then it was worth a shot. Morgaine took her place at Sarah’s head. She motions that they all join hands.

Even in all that they have been through, all they have seen and done, Dean was still unsure on some things. He wondered how Sam could trust so much. So whole heartedly that things would work. Sarah is unmoving, unresponsive. How can they bring her back now?

Suddenly, Dean felt a sense of energy flow through him. He felt the true power that flowed from the Lady herself. She breathed a few words softly to the air and joined Dean’s hand to Sam’s. Sam, Dean, and Castiel formed a triangle over Sarah.

The Lady Morgaine knelt to Sarah’s head. She placed her hands along Sarah’s temples. Still speaking softly, her hands began to glow.

(Song is at part ‘the angel opens her eyes.’)

Sarah’s eyes flickered slowly open. Sarah whispers: My Lady?

The Lady Morgaine: Hush, child. All will be fine now. You are safe.

Sarah whispers: What happened, Mother?

Morgaine whispers: All shall be told in time.

Sarah’s eyes open more fully. She sees Castiel standing at her feet. (Camera shows Castiel’s wings appear) Castiel begins to glow. Slowly, she sees Castiel’s angelic wings take their former shape. She smiles. Sarah closes her eyes to savor the sight of it: Cassie, I can see your wings.

Morgaine smiles to herself as well. Castiel had been able to tap within himself and regained his own grace. They helped Sarah to her feet. Sam and Dean hug Sarah. Relief and joy wash over their faces. Sarah steps towards Castiel.

Castiel: Hello, Pet.

Sarah smiles slightly: Hello Cassie.

Castiel: I must go.

Sarah: Not just yet.

Castiel tilts his head to the left slightly with a puzzled look on his face. Sarah places her hands on his shoulders: What are you going to do?

Castiel thinks aloud: I want to go show the others how to heal themselves if they choose to.

Sarah nods: Very well. Stay safe this time.

Castiel snaps out of sight.

Dean, feeling like the mission was a bust: Let’s get out of here.

Sarah shakes her head no: With the Lady Morgaine in physical form, we have an extra power to help. We can do this.

Dean looks at Sarah like she has three heads: Have you gone nuts? You almost DIED, or did you not catch that memo? We are NOT going back in there!

All those times that Dean calmed her down, and now it was her turn to do so. Sarah smiles. She kisses Dean deeply. She took his hand and placed it on her heart. She places her hand over his.

Sarah: Heartbeat.

Dean looked into her amber green eyes. He repeats calmly: Heartbeat.

Sarah lifts her other hand and motions for Sam to come over. Sam places his hands on their hearts respectively. They do the same to him.

Sam whispers: Heartbeat.

The Lady Morgaine watches in wonder. She smiles.

(Camera to a bird’s eye view of the scene. We see a triangle formed by Sam, Dean, and Sarah with their hands over each other’s hearts. We hear Morgaine’s thought: They are their own Triad. They have formed their very own without even realizing it.) Morgaine smiles to herself.

Sam, Dean, and Sarah stood there and smile at each other. They were reunited once more. It felt right.

The Lady Morgaine: It is settled then. We go back inside.

Sam looks at The Lady puzzled. The Lady smiles brightly at him. The Lady Morgaine nods: You are the Triad. Together, you can control Crowley. It is Law.

Dean broke the interlocking triangle first: Hold on. Do you mean to tell us we, US THREE, can boss Crowley around? Dean started pacing. He put his arms up: This is too much. No one can control The King of Hell. It can’t be done.

Sam hopeful: Is it possible? How can we do that?

The Lady Morgaine: Look at how you just were. You formed The Triad stance when you did your little thing there. Have you always done that? It looked like it was second nature to you three.

Sam smirked that shy smile of his: Yes, when we were children. Whenever one of us had a nightmare or something happened. It was to show what was real and there. Or just to say “I am still alive. I am still here.”

Sarah places her hand on Sam’s arm lightly: I always had dreams of them getting hurt. Some of them seemed so real. It made me know they didn’t really happen. That Sam and dean were still very much alive with me.

The Lady Morgaine nods, smiling: I think it’s time for Crowley to find out who’s playground he is REALLY playing at today. Shall we, Dean?

Dean stops pacing and looks at The Lady: Oh, why not? Dean sighs: I’m outnumbered anyways.

Sam and Sarah laugh. They each take an arm on Dean.

Sam still laughing: Let’s do this.

The Lady Morgaine: When we go inside, stay together. He cannot touch you as long as you do.

They nod. The four of them go back inside.

* * * Inside the Warehouse * * *

They made it quickly back to the room they had found Crowley in before.

Crowley sarcastically: Well, well, well. Did you kids have fun?

Dean shoots back at him: Did you miss us?

Crowley returned: Oh, come now. I needed you out if the way. I had to buy myself some time.

Sarah piped in: Enough of this banter. Can we get down to business here, please?

Crowley points to Sarah: Oh I like her. Where ever did you find this little whore of yours?

The Lady Morgaine steps out from behind the other three: Very funny, Crowley. But, I will thank you to not speak of my vessel in that manner.

Crowley swallows: Oh, I see. You brought your mummy. What’s the matter? You can’t stick up to the big bad bully without her?

Morgaine angrily: Do you have any memory in that thick skull of yours? Do you know who I am?

Crowley: No. Should I? Do I care? Not really. See, I am very busy here. So cheers. Crowley makes to leave with a snap of his fingers but can’t. His eyes narrow: What did you do?

Morgaine laughs aloud: Do you really think I would let you leave just like that? She chuckles. She stands taller: You will bow down to me. I am The Morrigan. I feed you your souls in war. I am your Queen.

Crowley’s turn to laugh: My QUEEN? I Have no queen. I am the King of Hell. I do not need a queen.

Morgaine shakes her head: Lucifer knew his place with me. Apparently I need to teach you the rule. Morgaine starts to walk around Crowley.

Crowley looks straight ahead. He grew nervous but tried not to show it: WHAT rule?

Morgaine stops and looks at him: I am The Morrigan. I am the one who sends you souls. You do as I command.

Crowley swallows: Or what?

She looks deep into his eyes. She pierced into his head and showed him a scene of himself being thrown into Lucifer’s cage with Lucifer and Michael.

Crowley’s eyes widen. He gasps: You wouldn’t dare.

Morgaine raises her brow. A smile forms at the corner of her mouth: Would you really want to take that chance?

Crowley starts: You- Then he thought better of it. He took a deep breath and collected his thoughts. He straightens up: What would you like me to do?

Morgaine smiles: I am so glad that you see it my way. She points to the trio behind her: This is The Triad. When I say Triad, I mean the only one ever. THEY tell you what to do. But, their orders come first because they come from me.

Crowley looks at who Morgaine called The Triad: This is a joke, right? The Winchesters and a whore? The Triad? You ARE joking, right?

She towers over him: You shall NEVER call my vessel a whore. She is sacred. You will ensure no harm will ever come to her. EVER. The Winchesters are her protectors as well. If any of these three are harmed in any way, shape, or form. On ANY plane of existence, YOU will find yourself in that very cage with Lucifer and Michael.

Crowley did not dare to look at her.

Morgaine: Do I make myself clear?

Crowley looks at her and smiles: Crystal.

Morgaine: Good. A roll of parchment appears in her hand. Crowley tilts his head ever so slightly. A contract for you to sign, of course. Did you honestly think that I would go on the word alone from the King of Hell? I am not so naïve.

Crowley signs it. Morgaine nods to the trio. Sarah, Dean, and Sam undo their triangle and look at Crowley. Crowley bows towards them sorely: And how may I be of service to you?

Sarah steps forward: We need your help please, Mr. Crowley.

Crowley raises his head: Manners, even as a Triad. This IS different.

Sarah stammers nervously: I will show you respect as long as you show me the proper respect back.

Crowley’s attitude changed completely at this announcement: Why of course, my priestess. He bowed more respectfully now. How may I be of service to you?

Sarah: We need to find Lucifer’s cage.

Crowley lifts his head slightly and looks at Sarah. Dean and Sam stood more protectively beside Sarah.

Crowley scoffs, “Now just WHY would I want to do that?”

Sarah matter of factually, “Because I as the Triad ask it of you.”

Crowley looks at Sarah, “Why would I want to go on a suicide mission for you? Why do you want to find this cage so badly? You already got them into it.”

Sarah simply replies. “Adam.”

Crowley looks at her questioningly, “Why should I care about Adam?”

Sarah looks Crowley dead in the eyes, “Because even in all of the chaos that is coming our way, Adam doesn’t deserve to be in that cage any longer with them.”

Crowley places his finger to his face, “I like chaos. Chaos can be fun.” He shrugs.

Dean growls at Crowley, “Crowley….”

Sam holds up his hand to Dean. He looks at Crowley. “Will you help us or not?”

Sarah dares to go close to Crowley’s ear and speaks softly, “The type of chaos that will ensue will not be of your liking, Mr. Crowley. So I suggest that you choose wisely if I were you, Sir.”

Morgaine agrees, “Sarah is right in that.”

They all turn and look at Morgaine. They have forgotten that she was still there.

Crowley put his hands up in surrender. “Alright,” he replies. “I’ll help. But, just this one time. After this is over, we are all done.”

Sarah smiles sweetly. Crowley looks nervously at her. She whispers to him, “Thank you.” She gives him a kiss on the cheek.

Sam stifles a laugh. “Crowley, are you BLUSHING?”

Crowley scoffs at him, “Eat me.”

Sam laughing silently puts his hands up to show he meant no real harm.

Crowley looks at The Lady Morgaine. “May I leave now?”

The Lady Morgaine replies, “Is the Triad done with you?”

Crowley whispers to Sarah, “Are we done here?”

Sarah nods, “I will be in touch. Do not keep me waiting on the location of the cage.” She pierces the vision of throwing Crowley into the cage with Michael and Lucifer. She thinks to him, ‘You don’t want to end up there yourself, now do you?’

Crowley stiffens at this thought. He looks at Sarah and smiles smugly, “A girl after my own heart.” With a snap, he disappears.

Dean asks Sarah, “Do you trust him?”

Sarah stood there looking at where Crowley stood thinking still on his words. “I used to. We shall see if I still should. But we need him to find that cage. If anyone will know its location, he will.”

Sam asks Sarah, “What do we do now?”

Sarah staring off to nowhere, “We go home and wait for Crowley to get back to us. We prepare to get Adam out of the cage and bring him home. It will take a lot to heal him once we get him out.”
