Home.

           home was once mine,

I guess I’m selfish,

           home is now yours

You’ve made it worthless.

           home can be ours

If you gave me a chance

           home isn’t mine anymore

And it breaks my heart,

    No,

it heats my core,

            because you’ll never change,

you even look at me different, like I’m not Mother Nature,

An evil stepmother to the technology you nurture,

         Brazilian bloodletting I cast away, if only you knew the amount of work I do for you everyday.

     your upkeep has ended, you humans impractical,

one burns, one soothes

 your mixed messages stick like hot glue.

My seas, same colour as baby blue jeans, now red with anger over my burning canopy

 I ache as the world watches,

    my acres still ablaze,

the embers are on your hands,

   but this phoenix won’t rise from the grave.
