What a cool premise. Here we are inside the head of a machine that thinks. Is this too far from our future? My guess would be no. Matthew Isaac Sobin delves into some intriguing premises about the future that also have relevance in today’s world. For instance, he talks of the hive mentality, and how it helps the survival of bees, as bees work together for the common good — it’s not about each individual bee’s survival. Think of all of today’s problems, where if humankind would come together to solve problems, how much better the world might be. Such keenly astute writing is rare. The Last Machine In The Solar System has me hooked. I’m intrigued to find out how it’s all going to turn out.
