What draws me to this project and this book - more than just the excellent writing and thoughtful presentation of the campaign page -- is the feeling of immense depth to the world. John has made it abundantly clear that he has given exhaustive thought the intricacies of his world, to how every moving part works together. Rena's plot is a gimme for genre-wonks like me - especially when you slather the 'art is magic' sauce over the hero's journey. But what will keep me and other readers truly spellbound will be the texture - the waft and woof of the tapestry, if I'm using those terms correctly? I'm most impressed by it because I tend to be a sketcher with world building - John is an architecht and I cannot wait to wander around this world he's built.
