Teresa L Tebbe liked an update for Crow’s Gambit

Greetings Supporters of Crow’s Gambit! Sorry for the silence and welcome to NanoWriMo the National Novel Writing Month.

Some of you have asked where we are with publication. We picked up a few orders during a Halloween cookie offering but not enough. We are still trying to get to the required number of Pre-Orders. And I could really use your help right now.

If everyone receiving this who has not ordered did it now…we would be celebrating! If only half of those who have made Pre-Order got a friend to make an order…we would be celebrating! With your help we can get things kick-started again. Could you give me a hand?

It’s appropriate you are getting this during NanoWriMo. Crow’s Gambit was actually written during NanoWriMo 2015. I am working on a new book for the event this year. It’s a “weird western”. The world is built with elements from several different magical and mythological settings and includes some of the typical Western genres. Honestly right now I’m a little behind in my word count but maybe in a few years you’ll be hearing about this story too.

More to come...no really...I’m serious... :)

    Greetings Supporters of Crow’s Gambit!

It has been a busy last month. Since you haven’t heard much from me you probably realize that unfortunately that work hasn’t involved Crow’s Gambit. What’s been keeping me busy? An accreditation visit at work, an industrial advisory board meeting, my other book (Fortunes of the Space Sloth) finished in the Top 25 of the Launchpad competition, completed my first 100K trail run, and we hit a deer with our car (luckily no one was hurt).

Other things have been keeping me busy but we are now back to the finishing push to get to the Quill publishing limit with Crow’s Gambit. I haven’t forgotten all of your great support for the book and we will now be moving forward again!

More to come...no really...I’m serious...there will be more...

There is big news on the Crow’s Gambit front! The book has been selected as the July 2017 pick for the “Break the Bechdel with Strong Female Characters Syndicate”. The syndicate comment was:

Patrick Tebbe’s Crow’s Gambit takes the reader into another world that is fascinating and realized. Luckily for us, our guide is Cassie--a smart, savvy protagonist who will pilot her way through both politics and alien interactions with a calm, cool and collected brilliance.

The interest and support of the Syndicate and its members is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

      More to come soon...

Thank you so much for joining the team to get Crow’s Gambit published. We are currently in fourth place but it would only take a few fence sitters or referrals to get us into the top three. If each of you asked one person to consider pre-ordering or at least Follow the story it would be a tremendous gift (copy link to send here).

Today I’m going to share a little background on what TYPE of story this is.

What it is not. This is not a dystopian future story. Yes, bad things have happened and the world has been upended. However, the underlying theme is that humans adapt and persevere. They find new technological solutions when old ones are taken away from them. And yes, they psychologically stop noticing the constant menace around them.

What it is. While I would not tag the story as full blown Hard Science Fiction it is grounded by existing knowledge and theory. Let’s face it, I’m an engineer. It’s really REALLY hard for me to put something in a story without trying to figure out how it would work.

We are almost to the three week mark. Stay with me. More to come…

Teresa L Tebbe liked an update for Fortunes of the Space Sloth

Happy 2017 Followers of the Space Sloth!

Thank you again for supporting this draft as it moves along. To show my appreciation I’m providing a link to a new short(ish) story set in the Fortunes of the Space Sloth world. It’s called "Collateral Hazards". This story takes place before the draft book’s events. It provides a little more world building and if you pay attention you might see some clues to explain why things work the way they do on the Space Sloth.

          Collateral Hazards, by P.A. Tebbe

I hope you enjoy it. Happy New Year.
