I think this is a great idea to get people reading. I think I do need to explain that my character Levy has a lot of communication with the two halves of his brain, Brainiac and Arby. They each have their own unique voice and font to accompany. I don't think that came across on my first draft. I will check on that.

It will be cool to see how you add a twist to this idea. There are so many stories that work off the disease-ridden society. I am sure you have a unique way of looking at it from a fresh set of ideas. Do you remember "The Stand" by Steven King? I think the people who wee immune where disabled in some way. The freaks of the world became the only ones left standing.

This is not unlike the Vulcans keeping Earth from developing warp capabilities. They didn't see that humans were ready to spread their illogic into their territory. I hope that both groups appreciate the uniqueness of each other in time and realize they are better off together then at enmity.
