Tahani Nelson sent an update for The Last Faoii

Raise your mugs, Faoii! We’re back on the leader boards for the Geek and Sundry Contest! And we’ve only been in the battle for 25 days.

Don’t forget--we’re in the top 10, but we need to be in the top 3 to get mass publication. We can do that. We will do that. We’re Faoii. We don’t lose.

    Shields up.

I finished A Tale of Ghosts and Guardians several years ago. I was sharing it as I wrote it, and wanted to share it after I wrote it. I had some great friends willing to read, but not as great about giving constructive feedback, which is what I needed. After a lot of editing, I started querying agents three years ago. Only one agents asked to read the manuscript and he ended up passing.

I constantly worry that it is not good enough. If it is published and it receives universal accolades, I would still worry about the things I could have done better. The thing is, the work I have produced since finishing my novel is much better than my novel. I added two chapters during revisions and they are much better than the original chapters of the novel. BUT I would not be able to produce better work had I not finished and moved on from AToGaG. I’d still be going through each chapter and changing one word or deleting an adverb. In short, no, you never get over that feeling.
