Greetings Jackolytes,
Napoleon Bonaparte said an army marches on its stomach. Jack Trevayne says Sync City marches on because of its readers. Today Sync City hit 100 readers - thank you all so much.
Sync City is about halfway there in terms of pre-orders and about halfway there in terms of funding days remaining. Here’s another interesting Napoleon Bonaparte fact - as a result of the Napoleonic Wars, canning was invented. Here’s another interesting Jack Trevayne fact - Jack likes beer. At the moment Jack’s can is half full. He’s not a half-full kind of guy. Buy Jack a beer - get friends and family on board and have them pre-order Sync City. Thank you again.
Cheers,
Peter
With a week to go in the Nerdist contest, I think it’s safe to say that my little "Girl vs. Universe" book has not dominated the competition. While it is not impossible for me to add 200+ buyers to my current 20 in this final week, I do grant that it is somewhat unlikely. I’ve been staring way up at the same top four authors for a while now, watching their campaigns with approval, and believe they are all fine books and wish them good luck in jostling for the top three spots as the finish line looms.
So I’m settling in for the long campaign. I’ll keep loading sample chapters, doodling Character Cards, and pestering friends and loved ones until they want to throttle me. Eventually, here or elsewhere, Piperverse will be a book.
But what I want now are eyeballs. Specifically, YOUR juicy, succulent eyeballs!
Fellow Inkshares folk, I haven’t participated at all in the whole "trading pre-orders" thing…I’m sorry, I simply can’t afford it (and I’ve yet to figure out how to do the whole "get credits for your recommendations" deal, probably to my great detriment.) But I want to be part of the community, and I want feedback on the chapters I post: Good, Bad, Nitpicky--I’ll take it all…and it’s about time I put some time in to get it. So, what I’m offering in trade is my eyes for yours. Review my stuff, make little comments and notes, recommend me to folks who LIKE making little comments and notes, and I will happily do the same for you and yours.
And since the posts that get the most response on Inkshares seem to be the ones with dogs in them...
Well we are about a month in, and support continues to be great for The Girl Who Blinked. With only a week or so left in the Nerdist contest we are sitting about 15 or so readers outside of the top ten. Let’s keep spreading the word and see how far we can go.
Today I’m going to share with you guys the first of a series of "Meet the crew" updates, where you guys will become a little more acquainted with the denizens of the galaxy. It seems only appropriate that we start with the girl herself. Art is provided courtesy of my excellent older sister Alexis Braud.

When most people from Equinox think of Adora, the first thing they dwell on is that she is an orphan. They look at the young, almost impish girl with eyes full of pity. Most orphans end up as corporate wards confined to company-provided dorms. They go to school until they are old enough to work off the cost of raising them in some corporate sponsored trade. This is not Adora’s lot.
Although she goes to the corporate school, Adora spends most of her time on the farm she shares with Clementine, her legal guardian. "Clem" , as Adora calls her, isn’t shy about putting the young girl to work while loudly claiming the physical labor will help her grow. It hasn’t. It has only encouraged Adora’s independent streak, which put the girl at odds with her fellow students and the faculty.
When she’s not hiding the latest issue of "Ronald Raygun, Action President" from her teachers or helping Clem with the orchards, Adora can be found reading up as much as she can on space. Both of her parents may have been lost to the stars, but that won’t quell her wanderlust. She knows in her bones that one day she is going to be a spacer just like her parents, even if the only thing she can remember of them is her father’s laugh.
